Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Is there a roll call for the current Crown sailing? Maybe someone who is currently on the Crown could find out if it is on the ship in the lost and found? Maybe if it is they could find out the next steps to expedite its return to you? I hope you get a positive resolution!
  2. @Ombud Thanks so much for taking the time/making the effort to say something to the waitstaff and find out that the new menu is an option. My sister and I have been vegetarian for many, many years and usually vegan at home. The lack of proper labeling on the menus and at the buffet has been one of my pet peeves for a while. I am really hoping this will be an option on our upcoming cruise on the Royal. I am so excited to have more choices especially tofu and Indian dishes.
  3. ^^^^^^^^ This is my concern. Some of the horror stories from people who tested positive are what really concern me. COVID is going to be on the ships and these changes are likely to increase cases. Has Princess figured out how they are going to deal with it? The full on isolation approach with crew wearing bunny suits and blocking off desirable balcony cabins doesn't seem to be the way back to pax satisfaction or profitability. I hope there is a plan.
  4. We had them on the Ruby. Underneath the night stands and in the closet area. We blocked the ones under the night stands with the throw pillows. We tried to deal with the one in the closet but it was just too bright. We had to ask Stewart to block it. If there had been a dimmer option it would have worked better for us. I appreciated the idea behind it, but wasn't a fan.
  5. Hi all, We are going to be saling on the Royal for the first time in a few months and will have a suite. I just saw a video of the concierge lounge that said there were outlets for charging and showed what looked like not only electrical outlets but ethernet jacks. Does anyone know if there really is wired internet access in the lounge and if so if it is faster/better than the wifi? Thanks for any info you can provide.
  6. Were they able to seat you when you went? I would worry that we would end up waiting for an extended time. I really don't enjoy waiting to be seated and would much rather have a reservation.
  7. I was able to make a reservation on the medallion app for our upcoming cruise and it "zeroed out" the cost. My sister who is in the suite with me tried to do it and it said it was going to charge for it, so I think the person who booked the suite/guest 1 might have to do the reservation for the credit to be applied. In the pre-covid days when we got to our cabin there would be a card with our assigned time and restaurant. If we wanted to change it, we would just call the dine line or stop at Sabatini's or Crown Grill and get it changed. That should still work if the medallion app doesn't
  8. I am glad to hear things have changed on the Panorama! On our last cruise on her in January we were told no veggie burgers at Guy's. We were sent to the deli where we had to wait close to 30 minutes for them to serve us mushy veggie puree patties on dry bread. It made us so mad we actually complained not only to carnival but Guy's headquarters telling them that carnival was not representing his brand well. Hopefully they won't disappear again.
  9. I looked but cannot find it. Where are the quarantine cabins on Royal? Thanks
  10. Thanks so much! I can't handle the sun so I guess the retreat pool cabanas are a no go and I will have to make sure I have my comfy shoes on for the run up to the sanctuary to see if I can get shady seats. lx200gps thank you for the heads up about the wind. That is something I never would have known until it was too late. Bassmk those pictures really make me want to try one. I think I am going to have to skip a fancy coffee or two these next few months and put the money in a "cabana fund" jar to see if I can save up enough for a splurge day. Shannon
  11. If the service is prompt and they remember what we like i.e. my mom likes her drinks extra sweet so extra simple syrup. It's worth it to me to be able to order the drink once, take it back to our seats and know my mom is going to enjoy it, instead of having to send it back and wait. I like it when staff makes the effort to remember what I like, and I think that extra effort is worth a dollar or two every couple of rounds.
  12. ⁰We tip a few dollars for room service and/or drinks delivered to our room as my understanding is those crew are not getting anything extra from the tip pool for hustling all over the ship, and not having to leave my cabin when I am enjoying my ocean view is worth a couple of bucks to me. If I go to the bar and get the drinks 🍸 we tip a buck or two maybe every other round if service is prompt and they remember what we like. If one particular bartender/server gives us great service during the cruise, we do usually give an additional tip at the end. Compared to what we spend on the cruise, these are small amounts and this is what feels right to me but I understand that not everyone feels the same.
  13. Hi We have booked a cruise out of SF to Mexico for September. We have had positive experiences with the cabanas offered on HAL, but have never had an opportunity to try them on princess. Does anyone have any personal experience to share? Pros/Cons? We would be interested in hearing about either the retreat pool cabanas or the sanctuary cabanas. Also it looks like from the pictures that there are two loungers outside each of the sanctuary cabanas. Are those included in the cabana rental? Thanks for any information you can provide. Shannon
