  1. Best answer to the OP's question without too much shade.
  2. We alwats choose Nachi Cocum every trip to Cozumel. We prefer a quiter, limited crowd day. Only once out oif 5 or 6 times there was there more than 4-5 kids out of the 125-130 person limit at Nachi. Nice beach strewn with Palapas and a very nice pool. (we usually spend most of our day in there at the swim up bar. I will try answer any specific questions I can that you may have. A little over a month and we'll be back again.
  3. Six ships in Coizumel is a medium, to light day. Eight ships is more the usual count. (I think almost every time we have been to Cozumel it has been 8 or 9 ships. Once we had a light day of only 6) Honestly it depends more on WHICH ships are dovcking that day with you. You can have 2-3 Fantasy/Spirit class ships for Carnival and 1 Oasis class ship will have more passengers. If you have too many Oasis class or the Mardi Gras, etc. in at the same time, THAT is a bad day.
  4. I've gotten the vanilla at Los Cinco Soles for decades and it has been good. (actually need a new bottle in a little over a month)
  5. https://cozumelinsider.com/?Page=CruiseShips It's only for the week of the cruise, but it shows all the piers schedules. Maybe if the RCCL and NCL cruisers complained to the other two piers they might post it in advance like Carnival and Puerto Maya do. 😜
  6. Yeah its not taking ziplocs on the ship, it would be trying to take ziplocs with loose items OFF the ship in ports. Many islands (reasonably so) have strict rules about only allowing packaged foods off the ship.
  7. The location was good if you wanted quick access to the lido dexk or Guy's Burgers. But loud as hell with lost people wandering the halls all hours of the day and night.
  8. The heated loungers and saunas were all working last month when we went. Good luck to you.
  9. Might help if you could say what state the questionable travelers were from. Hopefully somebody from those particular states could help.
  10. When are you cruising? I have been asking about Almaplena for months and only had one nibble from somebodsy going in November, who had been before. We are supposed to go the first week of December and are still wavering on booking Almaplena or not. (figured Maya Chan wouldn't be an option with 4 ships in port that day and turned to be right)
  11. Haven't been on a Fantasy class ship in awhile, but being on the Sunshine a few weeks ago, I'd say Carnival shouldn't put any more money into refurbs on her. She is in pretty bad shape. A lot of rusty spots and rusty loose doorhandles, etc. Holes in the balcony floor, etc. I'm curious to see how the Pride is in a few weeks.
  12. Well said. I agree 100%. I would love a modern take on the Spirit Class size, but know it will NEVER happen. Why sail with 2,000, passengers, comfotably, when you can sail with 4,500 packed into a ship, not 2 1/2 times larger? Its amazing how different the cruise space is on the spirit class versus the Fantasy class which are similarily sized. The Spiirit class is a much more comfotable cruise experience.
  13. Plus you can easily verify the forecast once you get a week or so before your cruise, just to lock in your plans for the day.
  14. When one of the piers was damagaed after a hurricane. once we had to tender into the ferry pier downtown instead at Puerto Maya like usual. I'm pretty sure NCL is usually the line that has to tender the most as RCCL and Carnival usually have enough piers for their ships daily. ' Not sure what Virigin is doing, as I haven't been in Cozumel since they came into existance, but I'll find out in December.
  15. Yeah it just shows which ships will be in each day and what time they'll be docked. Nothing about which pier they'll be docked at. Only showing 5 ships in on our day in December, but I'm pretty sure its six. Luckily only two of the smaller Carnival ships, so we should be good that day.
  16. What is the bar near the back, right in froint of the Karaokee/Comedy lounge? Used to be where I went to smoke my cigars and they always had sports going 24/7 on like 8 TVs on the walls. Mostly NFL for the US cruisers and soccer for the crew. Never saw Basketball, baseball or hockey on a Carnival ship.
  17. Or soccer. Would not hold my breath for Fox or TBS on a Carnival ship. Best of luck to you.
  18. Jacksonville can only accomodate Fantasy and Spirit class. Tampa will be doing our second Spirit class out of there, so I'm not positive how big they can go to get under their bridge. That was the beauty of Charleston, was that the pier was on the oceanside of our bridge. The cruiselines do better with the newer, higher passenger count ships, so I'm sure, the Fantasy and Spirit class, smaller ships will be gone in the next 10 years or so and if those ports that have bridge issues don't build and oceanside/gulfside terminal to their bridges, then Carnival will have to find new homes for them or adjust their multihomeport model they use currently. I'll be sad to see them go. because I'll do a cruise on the Spirit class. versus any class larger, 100 out of 100 times.
  19. I know Cozumel Insider does a weekly one for the upcoming week. I don't know anotyher that shows the pier schedule further out. https://cozumelinsider.com/?Page=CruiseShips
  20. I'd look into Paradise Beach in here and on Google. Tons of threads comparing Paradise Beach versus Nachi Cocum or Mr. Sanchos. Especially look for photos of the pool (for accessibility) and info about beach access. (Paradise Beach is just a short way down from Nachi Cocum and Mr. Sanchos, so I'm not sure if it has the same "shelving" issues that Nachi does) As small as the kids in your group are, sounds like the comfort of the older part of your group's accessibility is the more important part. Playa Mia has alot of stuff for a little older kids (6-15 ish) and the other beaches inflatable toys would cater to older kids also. Hopefully someone who has used some of the smaller beach clubs might be anle to give you another suggestion. That is the truly great thing in Cozumel is the wide diversity between their beach clubs to let you choose an almost perfectly tailored day to your wants.
  21. Maybe claustrophobia is not the couple's issue with snorkeling. Some people can't snorkel because they breathe through their nose. Some are just not strong enough swimmers. Thus they could submarine.
  22. I know Nachi used to be a limit of 100, but they had raised it to 130 before covid. I'd imagine by now, they should be back to pre-covid limits. But it should be less crowded than Mr. Sanchos or Paradise Beach, if that is important. (it is to us)
  23. Yeah. Probably. They used to have I think two of those climb in ladders and we had taken someone with mobility issues like a decade ago and I felt bad because I had never thoguht about accessibilty, just about how peaceful it would be for them.
  24. Thank goodness. I felt so uncomfortable watching the crew working so hard with the masks on last month.
