  1. Might not affect Nationwide customers. I just visited Aviva website for a quote and saw I was too old!
  2. That would exclude those not able to use a smart phone though. As it seems like a lot of posters on here want to eat early and have tables for two, maybe one restaurant with ONLY tables for two at 6.00 pm would be the answer!
  3. Aviva would not quote. You have to be under 75! Wonder if this will affect any over 74s currently with Nationwide?
  4. St Vincent town is awful, but the cruise terminal is good, so your wife should enjoy that.
  5. Why don't P&O just make one MDR fixed dining, like the smaller ships, to cater for all these people who want to dine at the same time every night and leave the other MDRs for Freedom dining?! Seems like a lot of folk don't want Freedom at all.
  6. Good deal. I cannot get Worldwide for less than about £600. No serious conditions, just 75 years old!
  7. Yes. Baked on like Tippex. Took ages to get off. Won't do that again! Bloody birds!
  8. Yes, and never park under one of the trees in Summer unless you want your car covered in "guano" when you return!
  9. I have used Holiday Inn over 50 times and always keep my keys with me.
  10. Frequent P&O customer eh? Atlantic tier, 500 points and £10,000 spent? Don't think so!
  11. Tallinn is lovely, Riga is too, like a larger more grand Tallinn.
  12. Harbour Lights is good too. Same beach but cheaper and quieter.
  13. Yes. Have been caught out before when prices have been reduced after final balance date. Notably Arcadia Canada cruise when they removed single supplement! On the other hand, some cruises sell out. It is a gamble.
  14. Have been looking at Aurora and Arcadia prices for this Summer and they are ridiculously high, especially for solos. Will keep my eye on them but doubt they will reduce as they are so popular.
  15. I avoid the launderette, but then I get half price laundry and find the prices are quite reasonable.
  16. Aurora last year included Helsinki, Tallinn, Visby, Riga, etc. Am on her again next May, which also has a very good itinerary (except Kiel which I am not keen on).
  17. The bar staff in Anderson's will usually make me cocktails which are not on the drink menu. Just ask. Provided they have the ingredients, of course.
  18. They had themed buffet nights on Arcadia last month. The big ships lack some of the things you still find on the smaller ones.
  19. That is the most entertaining terminal. Watched some macaws trying to undo zips on rucksacks and naughty monkeys stealing drinks from people. Hilarious. It is a destination in itself. The city tour was excellent. Very interesting.
  20. Xmas dinner on Arcadia was excellent. New Year one not so good but fireworks made up for it ! Great cruise. Booked Aurora for this year.
  21. We are effectively already charged for early boarding. Those in higher tiers and suites get priority because we have spent more money with P&O!
  22. I cruise almost exclusively on the two small ships. I prefer a more sociable, less crowded and quieter cruise environment as I am a solo traveller in my 70s. They also tend to do longer cruises. The main problem is that prices for cruises on these ships are very expensive compared to the big family ones. They are popular so usually sell out quickly.
  23. I have been offered a bid to upgrade. As usual though, solos in double cabins have to pay for two. Have already paid almost the same price as two. No thanks!
  24. Did this trip last year from Vigo. Lashed with rain all day. Soaked to the skin! Spent half an hour in the cathedral and two hours sheltering in a couple of bars. Would have been nice in good weather though!
