  1. When you have 10% off all on board spend, OBC is not so important.
  2. Agree. I have occasionally booked on board. Some times worthwhile, others not so much. Tend to wait for late deals now as I am more interested in the cruise price, not the amount of OBC.
  3. I find plenty of interaction between waiters and passengers on the small ships. One of the reason I prefer them.
  4. Not had one post covid despite 14 cruises.
  5. Got my invitation last week and booked for next week.
  6. So you cannot really understand what this discussion is about. Nothing to do with fixed (Club) dining.
  7. Started my cruising with Celebrity in 2011 but switched to other lines after 11 cruises with them. They were just too expensive and not at all solo friendly. Have stuck mainly to P&O since as it suits me better.
  8. Porto Venere by ferry from the waterfront. Takes about half an hour. Beautiful place and great for lunch.
  9. I have used it for a cruise. Probably safer than some hotel carparks as you need your ticket to open barriers. Everywhere has some risk though.
  10. Aurora went as far North as she is allowed last month. Unfortunately North Cape was abandoned due to blizzards though!
  11. Silk under socks and glove liners work well.
  12. Unless you have superhuman odour detection capabilities, you would lose!
  13. Vaping devices differ greatly. I have one. Virtually no emission and absolutely zero smell. Just depends which device you have.
  14. Just did a Norway cruise on Aurora - 12 to 28 March.
  15. Adults only ships do the fjords. More expensive though.
  16. Especially the desserts. Made with no dairy. Tasteless. Shame as something I like to indulge in, but do not have at home.
  17. Many areas on Aurora were extremely cold during port visits, particularly overnighters. My cabin was cozy but corridor outside was freezing as I was two decks above the gangway opening. But only to be expected when in the Arctic in Winter!
  18. Had WiFi on Aurora when we were close to shore and, of course, docked. . No roaming fees in Norway with Vodafone either.
  19. Nothing kills norovirus except strong bleach (for sanitizing surfaces - not recommended for your skin!) Only hand washing (properly) with soap and warm water will remove the virus from your hands. Wish the ships would explain this to pax (although some will not take any notice anyway!) Just best to look after yourself.
  20. Toulon old town is lovely, as is the beach (for lunch) which you can reach via the little train. Was happy when it replaced Marseilles, which I do not like, last year.
