  1. I do not think they can do no wrong. I said it was too close. I'm not sure what other flight options were available for him to be booked on, but he got the double whammy when United shut down today. We are all one delayed flight or one long custom line away from the same thing happening to us at any time. It has and it will again. We nor NCL can control customs or the airlines. That is just how it is. Houston customs was a nightmare for us, Atlanta was a breeze. You never know what's going to happen.
  2. I did not say what happened to Greg was right. That was a little too close. I do get tired of all the blanket statements about NCL air from people who have not done it though. "I heard from so and so" is not very credible in my book. Guess what? Lots of people like to complain and be negative, very few take the time to tell you the good. Customer service takes the brunt of that negativity.
  3. We've done it 4 times without issues including an international flight to Panama and back. Stuff happens. There is no guarantee you won't have your own issues, you can't control everything even if you book on your own. Flying is not fun these days. My biggest issue was exactly what happened to Greg today, missed flight in Houston because customs took so long. I thought I had plenty of time, apparently I did not. That was not an NCL flight.
  4. That's funny because if you watch any of the YT vloggers that are also travel agents, it's RCCL they hate dealing with. I've dealt with NCL customer service on my own a lot and I've not had any issues. Now, when it comes to NCL Air, it pays to read the terms and conditions. They clearly state they book the flights and if you encounter issues, you are to go to the airline to resolve it.
  5. True enough. Flying has become a sport that the passengers seem to be losing. He'd have probably had more options without the United stoppage. I'll bet there are a lot of unhappy people flying today.
  6. Do you still have a long drive after this? Oh, my. I can sympathize with the customs/missed flight thing. We were coming back from Costa Rica through Houston and customs was 2 hours long. Then the hour in customer service to get rebooked. I felt fortunate there were still flights available because we live in a place with a regional airport with limited flights. Instead of getting home mid afternoon, we finally got here at midnight.
  7. Safe travels, Greg. I'm going to miss this review. I can't wait for the wrap up!
  8. Hey Bird, if you happen across the current wine list would you mind posting it? It would be much appreciated. I realize it changes all the time, but we're cruising soon and it might not be too off. Thanks!
  9. SPF swimwear has become common. I see a lot of people with the long sleeve tops especially. You'll be fine.
  10. I'm vaccinated too, but that didn't stop it. I was not amused. At least I didn't get super sick. I"ll take that as a win. Get some sleep.
  11. It's been fun following along. I really hope you feel better tomorrow. I look forward to the wrap up.
  12. Unfortunately, Covid is going around again. I got it in Vegas the end of July. It's like a really bad cold, but I didn't feel really horrible. My nose took the brunt of it. So many tissues... I was concerned when you talked about all the coughing, because that and the runny nose are a big part of it. I really hope you don't have it, but I'm afraid you might. It gets better in about 5 days. Take Nyquil/Dyaquil if you can. It really helped me.
  13. I don't know that the NCL shows are still "on" Broadway. You may be able to catch them in London. As for me, I get restless. I'm not sure I could not do a 3 hour show. The abbreviated show is fine. At least I get the gist of it, and it's free. I like that part. I'm already on the ship so what have I got to lose?
  14. No, but they are very good. I think Jersey Boys ran 1:45. It was long...ish. So about half length.
  15. The shows on the bigger ships like Breakaway and Breakaway+ class tend to be better...like full on Broadway shows. I've seen Jersey Boys and Million Dollar Quartet. Both very good. I'd love to see Choir of Man, but so far the ships it's on and the itineraries I want to take have not aligned.
  16. People on NCL are unfazed by your attire. Freestyle is where it's at!
  17. Aha! I was on the Getaway too. That's where the fish were. It's good to know I'm not totally crazy...yet. 😉 And thanks for clarifying the arrows. I knew I saw that somewhere. I still don't know why it's not on every ship. It really does help.
  18. At least NCL doesn't have those slimey sugar straws. I do NOT like those!
  19. Yes, the daily gratuities are $20. Just make sure you only have 7 total on your account no matter when they showed up. As for Specialty Dining, you pay 20% gratuities when you get the package, either free at sea or purchased separately. Tipping extra is nice, but not required. We still do most times. Depends on the experience.
  20. Me either. I only do it if I have to. Except for soft serve. I will go there for soft serve. Really good on NCL.
