  1. Thank you scorfman for directing me directly to your post. It was very descriptive and looks wonderful!
  2. That's good to know...thank you for clarifying this πŸ™‚ it is always nice to be outside in the front for sail ins.
  3. kk20 - great photos and I appreciate all the description so we know what we are looking at! Can't wait to see more.
  4. I thought Silhouette was revolutionized and had the Retreat only areas at the front of the ship now? I understand that the sky lounge is still there (inside only), but I thought they changed the two outdoor terraced areas in the front of the ship for Retreat only. Perhaps I'm mistaken. That is one drawback from Edge class for sure, unless you go into the gym and then you can have an inside view at the front!
  5. Thank you for posting such a detailed review of your excursion. Did you also take a Celebrity excursion the night before? If so, which one? Did you enjoy it? This will be our first time to Japan and I am trying to pick as many brains as I can for information lol. As always, I appreciate all the hard work everyone does posting these live reviews with such wonderful pictures & details! Thanks...Debbie & Ron
  6. Thank you for posting this! The Fjords are on my bucket list so I am very excited to follow your report! I better start looking at booking. Can I ask why you chose Silhouette over Apex for this cruise?
  7. Thank you for all these additional details! How long was the drive to the castle, and how long was the drive from Dotonbouri back to the ship?
  8. What were you thoughts on this tour? We have booked the same on for our Best of Japan in October. Was it too long? Did you have ample time in Dotonbouri District or was the majority of the tour spent at the Castle? Was it enjoyable? How much time was actually spent on the bus travelling as the tour is only 4.5 hours long? Did you get any feedback from your fellow cruisers on any other tour they took that day? Appreciate any & all information that you can provide πŸ™‚ Thanks...Debbie & Ron
  9. txtechmk & soccermommy - thank you for all the details. Sounds like we will need to pack a little bit of everything but I am happy to hear you both had great weather. Japan is definately a bucket list destination for us and we are looking forward to it! I love reading these live reviews with all the information & pictures about the ports. Again, thank you to DakKahuna for posting this live. rinshin - I live north of Toronto and our fall colours in Canada are pretty spectacular 🍁 ...although I am sure it would have been unique to see it Japan.
  10. Thank you DaKahuna for posting this live review, I am enjoying following along. We are onboard Millennium this October 6-29 for the Best of Japan followed by Northeast Asia. I know you have helped me by answering some other other questions I have posted on CC previously on other boards 😊 With that being said, I am hoping soccermommy &/or txtechmk could give me some insight regarding the weather in October? Any info from anyone for travelling in October would be appreciated! Thanks...Debbie
  11. You have a fantastic itinerary on this crossing, even with skipping Loyalty Island! And it’s nice that Celebrity gave you an overnight in Honolulu to replace Maui after the devastating fires. We aren’t so lucky on our upcoming TP on Edge - we received nothing to replace Maui except another day at sea…..
  12. Thank you for the detailed and polite response. We use ApplePay extensively at home so I will leave my cash behind. Also, in Toronto (and surrounding cities) our servers come to our tables with a handheld terminal for payment as you have said about Australia & Europe. I am so happy to follow your live report - perfect timing for us as we have never been to the South Pacific and your pictures & commentary have been wonderful! We fly out on Wednesday, and I will be faithfully be following along with anticipation! Safe travels 🚒🏝️ Debbie & Ron
  13. Thank you both for replying! It is appreciated 😊 I was just wondering if AUD cash was better for the Saturday Market at the Rocks with the local vendors.
  14. Hello from Toronto πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ We are thoroughly enjoying your report, love all the pictures & details you have provided. We are arriving on Friday to board Edge for the TP. Do we need to change funds into AUD, or like any large city, are USD or CAD widely accepted? What is your opinion? We will use our VISA for dinners, but just curious for shopping at The Rocks and coffee shops etc... Thank you, and enjoy your travels across the Pacific! Your itinerary looks amazing! Debbie & Ron
  15. I have never been to Yokohama so I cannot help you. We are on board Millennium this October. DaKahuna should be able to answer this question and have helped me with a few of my questions. Maybe try reaching out that way. Enjoy your cruise!
  16. Thank you for posting your videos, they are very informative. Our first trip is in 2 weeks 😁on Celebrity Edge visiting Raiatea, Papeete and Moorea on a TP. I have already exchanged CDN cash in USD & Euro. Will the local vendors accept Euro or must I have CFP? I like to shop with small vendors so I respect that they like to deal with cash only. I have pre-booked scuba diving in Papeete where they charged my credit card in XPF (CFP) & a reservation and water taxi to Cocobeach, Moorea also charged to my card in XPF. Debbie
  17. Yes I am defiantly going to try booking through a US based agent again and just pay the exchange on my credit card....it has to be better than the CDN prices Celebrity are quoting as of lately. Funny, we booked the Nieuw Statendam on a 14 night Egyptian cruise for 2025 and the HAL agent I was on the phone with originally quoted me in US, but when she realized I was in Canada, she requoted in CDN funds and was shocked at the $3000.00 price difference. This just proves my point. I may have to re-investigate that booking and rebook with a US cruise agency. Thanks to everyone who has given me some feedback on this! Cheers!
  18. Thank you DaKahuna. We will be arriving two days pre-cruise & have never been to Tokyo so I agree that is probably the better option. We are doing the b2b so we will also have turnaround day to go into Tokyo again, or just stay in Yokahama. Thanks again!
  19. Hello Georgia_Peaches from Toronto! Can you please tell me what date you got this great price (although in Canada it will cost me an extra 35% to pay in CDN funds) 😭 We have been on Beyond four times, and Ascent this past January. I feel that Captain Kate runs a tight ship as there was no comparison. We have an upcoming TP on Edge next month....it will be interesting to experience the first Edge class ship!
  20. Thank you Bill for all this information. I do have google translator already on my phone, but I will also download Maps.me as well. Not sure if these work while our phones are on airplane mode πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ probably not. Our second cruise ends in Singapore, making ports of call to Kagoshima, Taipei, Hong Kong and Chan May, Vietnam. Thank you again for replying as I'm sure this information will be helpful to others as well!
  21. Please continue on! We are doing b2b in October and we would love to hear more!! Any and all information is greatly appreciated!
  22. Thank you for posting your experience doing your own day trips. We are on the b2b this coming October & we also like to do our own thing and avoid ship tours. If you are willing to give any other information or advice for navigating on your own, it would be greatly appreciated! I am trying to figure out if we should book our hotel pre-cruise in Tokyo (we fly into Narita and arrive at 4pm), or book a hotel in Yokohama closer to the ship pier. Anyways, any info you can share would be great!
  23. Thank you for replying. I have read about the drift snorkel & it does look amazing! Do you recall the name of the public motu? Was it Motu Ofetaro? That seems to be the one I see online that you can book with te-mara-nui
