  1. You may be able to shed some light on this. Sometime ago I was told that these Cruise Planners are only Travel Agents who have contracted with Princess to act on their behalf and are therefore not actually Princess staff. I can't be sure but maybe that's part of the problem????
  2. Unless I am doing something extensive in addition to a cruise, I usually just make the booking on-line with Princess myself. If there is anything major in addition to the cruise I may use a Travel Agent. Having booked on-line with Princess myself, if anything pops up like a price reduction etc. I just call Princess and they have always honoured the reduced price. Maybe I am missing something, but what can a Holiday Planner really do for you that I can't do myself?
  3. Personally I think these Princess Cruise Holiday Planners are a dead loss. Never once has mine responded to my emails. He loves sending Princess emails through to me but he just ignores mine. I have sent him two emails in the past 3 weeks without any reply. Last year was the same. I refuse to deal at all with him now.
  4. Yes, thank you for keeping this topic going. It is quite annoying not to be able to delete these cruises when you want to. Someone once told me that Princess do read Cruise Critic so I am hoping someone picks up on this and gets onto doing something about it. I can't help feeling it should only be a nominal programming issue. We are talking about going to the moon again, yet we can't fix this. I'm glad Princess are not involved in the moon project - or are they?
  5. Maybe they have drained some water out of the harbour.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure that in respect of Princess you don't pay extra gratuities if the cruise is round trip to and from Australian ports. I am pretty certain as I have done cruises from Asia to Sydney and you pay extra gratuities, but having cruised numerous times on Princess round trip from Sydney and also Brisbane you just pay the A$ cruise fare. with no extra for gratuities. Must admit though that my experience has all been pre-Covid - maybe things have changed. Will shortly start cruising again.
  7. My comments relate to pre-Covid only as we have not cruised recently although we have a couple booked for next year. We always book direct with Princess and then we monitor price changes all the time. Each time there has been a reduction we have called Princess and they have honoured the price reduction every time. On one occasion there were actually two price reductions for the one cruise. We received both reductions by calling them. If our cruise is part of an overseas holiday, we still book our cabin direct with Princess and have our travel agent handle all the other aspects of the holiday - plane tickets, accommodation etc. Our attitude stems from our first experience when it became quite obvious that a Travel Agent does not monitor price reductions.
  8. Nice ship. We did Antarctica on her in January 2020 and arrived back home just as Covid started to hit.
  9. Many thanks for your responses.
  10. Are all the balconies for mini suites on the Royal Princess covered balconies? Many thanks.
  11. It's really anyone's guess, however unless things get really bad I think it should be OK. I must say though that cases are increasing quite rapidly again in Australia. Personally though , we are leaving our return to cruising until the end of 2023. We have made a couple of bookings for late 2023 and early 2024.
  12. Yes, be careful. A couple of times I nearly got caught (I was getting excited) as the prices were being shown in US$ on my iPad but in A$ on my Mac. If you actually login it should be OK with the prices showing in A$.
  13. Yes, a good cruise. We did it (35 days round trip from Sydney) in 2017. Hope you don't mind lots of sea days as there are many (I think from memory there were 2 or 3 consecutive 5 days plus, apart from a couple of singles and doubles etc). We do not have a problem with sea days but I know many people do. The only concern on this trip was that the ship (Sea Princess) was preparing for its next voyage which was a world cruise and there was a lot of maintenance going on, particularly with different sections of the deck being closed for nearly the whole cruise.
  14. InsureandGo or Southern Cross Insurance - have found both good
  15. I understand your concerns. We are fairly conservative also so we have made a booking for the end of 2023 and the another for early 2024. A long way off but we may as well plan. We are long-term Princess loyalists so we are just keeping our fingers crossed. Must say though that our two cruises booked are Aus and NZ areas only. Not at all excited about going to Europe/USA/Asia for the time being. You may think I am a newby to Cruise Critic but I was a regular until 2 1/2 years ago and have now re-commenced under a different name.
  16. Please help. I don't seem to be able to delete any of my Saved Cruises from My Princess on the Princess website. I used to be able to, but I can't now. Would appreciate any help. Also, I am sure all my saved cruises used to be displayed, now only three are displayed. Would appreciate any replies.
  17. Please help. I don't seem to be able to delete any of my Saved Cruises from my profile on the Princess website. Years ago I used to be able to, but I can't now. Would appreciate any help.
