  1. In fact, on every recent voyage of ours, Shore Excursions desk posted a notice of the tour cancelation cutoff dates by port right at the desk.
  2. The cancellation language on the excursion booking confirm speaks only to “cancellation deadline” for any specific shore excursion. Other than a few unique instances such as private vehicles, Land & Sea “land portion” tour excursions, and Overland Adventures as mentioned by Mary229, the deadlines for regular tours are not mentioned in the tour booking confirm. But it is 48 hours. Check with Shore Excursions as soon as you know you may need to cancel at any rate and you will be told exactly what day/time the cutoff is.
  3. We ordered, shipment didn’t make it. Exactly the response I’ve always gotten anytime anything runs out onboard. Reflects consistent training with how to deflect a passenger concern while still showing commitment to improving the situation. Just not for you. 🫤
  4. First night often pulls the two together into just one at 8:00pm which is unfair to Main seating. When it’s “Origin Story,” I don’t care - been there…But when it’s the “let’s take a look at what we are going to visit in Alaska” type program, very lazy that they won’t accommodate both seatings.
  5. Perhaps you will all drive to San Pedro and happily cruise on mammoth Princess ships?
  6. Yes. And you each would get the 7 days.
  7. You can also save on certain Spa services if booked pre-boarding.
  8. When you book onboard, you have the option to send the booking to your current travel agency, choose another, or leave it (for now) with HAL. We choose to leave it with HAL and then, take the booking info to our favorite, large internet TA and say, what’s your discount to get this booking? They’ll then usually say we can do X off (should be what they are showing online) and then complete the booking transfer form and they should now confirm to you the better price, and you keep your onboard booking OBC. This is what works for us. YMMV. Good luck.
  9. I’ve had Seattle say when I wanted to do this that I would lose the Welcome Back OBC offered after returning from a voyage if you book another in the next 3 months. Cheapness personified. Especially since this re-booking (soon) incentive seems much more beneficial to the revenue profile than “free” money over and over to AARP members. IMHO.
  10. That may be, if you leave the booking with HAL (although I doubt that is what the low price protection actually means; interested to hear from someone who has had this happen without having to solicit it themselves) but HAL do not do this if you move the booking to your TA. That is, per my experience. You or your TA will need to track and seek price reductions independently after your on-board booking has been moved to your TA. This has been my experience.
  11. On a related note, CA restaurants are lobbying to get out of this “one price” requirement. Those that charge a set % for “back of house” or other “service” fees, don’t want to have to show this in the food item menu price, arguing that it makes them look more expensive. But that is exactly what they may be!
  12. It’s clear the kitchen has no idea what a “bowl” dish is. Perhaps they need to consult the picture book of how to plate this?
  13. If you’ve not already done so, I would recommend that you write up all your issue (along with a synopsis of the fruitless visits to Guest Services) and submit in both Let Us Know via Navigator as well as to Guest Relations in Seattle via email along with all your documentation, thus creating a paper trail, and then hopefully enjoy the remainder of your trip. Getting satisfaction from onboard seems a dwindling prospect at this point given their deflection to “Seattle.” Just my opinions based upon similar experiences.
  14. Thanks again! I’m glad to be better informed on this travel related fee. Others may be as well.
  15. It was personal card and in Danish Kroner (I never choose USD as they will usually bust the conversion rate). Wow, it was a rather high-end place. I wonder how to go about getting a refund. I suppose contacting restaurant would be reasonable first step. Thank you for the information and reference!
  16. Interesting. We had a dinner in Copenhagen on June 1, 2024 where the restaurant added a charge for use of a “foreign” credit card. I wonder if they were violating the law you refer to.
  17. Also to identify when a ram has “done its duty” according to a Lerwick tour last month.
  18. Lastly, it’s the same form used to move from HAL to a TA or from one TA to another.
  19. It can take a week to 10 days, but it is one single-page form with basic info that’s emailed to HAL. That’s it. They do the rest (contact TA etc). Easy if you meet the requirements. But does not happen overnight and TA can drag feet (for up to 72 hours).
  20. Fill out the booking transfer form. Send to HAL (email is on the form). Wait. If you are within 60 days of initial booking and not fully paid, TA cannot stop it. You will lose any goodies coming from TA. Why you want to do this is your business. Ignore the clamoring naysayers.
  21. Ask to be expedited. We’ve been in and out for dinner in 45 minutes. I’ve watched tables move on in less. Just ask.
  22. Cannot get it without the glass. With SBP the charge will be $3.83. Even if you already got one, you must buy the glass every time. Not very enviro friendly if you have no use for the glass. Collect the set! There are several, we got three different ones. Maybe your experience will differ and they will ease up on multiple buyers re: the glass. I hope so.
  23. Yes, but word to the wise, check your reservations once you board for the first couple days to prevent what happened to us which was some reservationist bumping us from a prime spot to a garbage date and time (last night at 8:30pm).
  24. When making reservations with your HIA dining credits, look for the HIA credit redemption button (or toggle) for one or more diners as you proceed through the reservation steps. I don’t have any credits available to me right now on bookings with open speciality dining, so I can’t screen shot the steps for you, but if you pay attention as you go through reservation, you will see the option to use your credit(s).
  25. You are so correct. Two cruises ago my Rudi’s reservation went from Sea day prime spot to last day at 8:30 as someone bumped me AFTER boarding. After much discussion Maitre ‘D staff was able to return to original date time, but not before being offered “5:30 or 8:30”. Always keep an eye on your reservations lest games are played and your slots given to other priority passengers.
