  1. I don't use Uber so I can't help you with that other than to say both are available.
  2. Your best bet is to just store your luggage at Barrachina restaurant in Old San Juan rather than try to get it to the airport beforehand. It's free, although most people do offer a gratuity to the attendants as thanks for the service. https://www.barrachina.com/#servicios
  3. You don't have to waste time going all the way to the airport and back. Cruise ship passengers can pay to store their luggage at the cruise ship terminal with Westcoast Sightseeing. https://westcoastsightseeing.com/services/all-day-baggage-storage/
  4. I was referring to your title, "Underwater Sculpture Park". I'm only aware of the one in Grenada.
  5. I brought this up a couple of weeks ago in the Canadian cruisers forum. Some alternatives were suggested there if you want to take a look.
  6. I'll be going on my first Princess cruise in February. Are you allowed to order three of the starters and just have those for your whole meal (no main)? I don't want to be a nightmare to the wait staff and kitchen and make their jobs even more difficult but those starters are super appealing to me.
  7. While in some parts of Mexico this is true, walking around at night in the marina area of Cabo San Lucas, where the tenders drop you off, you'll be safe. Taking a taxi is also safe, and Uber is an option as well. Your biggest "danger" is overly persuasive vendors. I'll be in Cabo in a couple of weeks (not on a ship) and as a solo female feel very safe there as well as in Puerto Vallarta, and my accommodations aren't in the heart of any of the tourist areas.
  8. In Puerto Vallarta I suggest you try to arrange a visit and donation at Casa Hogar Children's Shelter. Your son will have a chance to interact with the children there, some of whom will be his age. If you contact them ahead of time they can let you know what items they need most and you can bring those items from home or pick them up at the Walmart in PV (or just give them cash, of course). Search for Casa Hogar Maximo Cornejo on FB, or you can also find a lot of different charities in PV on pvangels dot com if Casa Hogar doesn't appeal to you. I'm not familiar enough with the other cities to offer any advice for them.
  9. He sold it to us so I guess it's technically not for sale after the 16th, but if you've already bought it then it's okay. He also knew we were in BC when he sold it to us, so needless to say I'm rather confused by the whole thing.
  10. The rep I just spoke with stated that Princess Vacation Protection would no longer be available in Canada at all starting October 16th. This seems pretty big and I don't see any news release about it or any updates on the web site.
  11. The Princess web site says: Note that Princess Vacation Protection is not available to residents of the state of New York, British Columbia, Quebec, Puerto Rico, or Mexico. Is British Columbia being on the list a new thing? Has anyone from BC purchased it recently?
  12. I use Tru Earth laundry detergent sheets all the time, travelling and at home. I tear them up into several pieces before I toss them in and have never had any problems with them not dissolving.
  13. You could always check cruise plum. https://www.cruiseplum.com/solo-supplement-deals
  14. In March, I walked over to the new Rif Mangrove Park that's right near the terminal and took a guided tour with a park ranger, which was fantastic. The ranger was very knowledgeable and pointed out many things I would have missed or not even known to look for. Definitely recommend if you like nature.
  15. @jbandmr Probably this page. https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/solo-cruises
  16. I did it in March. I enjoyed it. If you have your own snorkeling gear and want to do the drift snorkel at Klein Bonaire it's less expensive to just take a water taxi and then you can spend as much time there as you want. I would definitely do it that way if I were to go back. Benefit of the excursion is that they take you in zodiacs to where the drift snorkel begins so you don't have to walk (but the walk isn't that far). And they'll keep ferrying you back to the start as many times as you want. I did it twice. Note that you have to climb onto the boat. Climb! Some folks struggled with this. The crew will help you best they can, but you still have to climb up using various foot and hand holds, which they will point out to you.
  17. It's about 3 kilometres (one way) to Harbor Lights. It'll probably take you around 45 minutes.
  18. I was on Celebrity in February for three back to backs in the Caribbean. They had a hosted solo meet and greet the first day. After that there was nothing formal. On the board by the guest relations desk they did advertise a solo meet up every day after that, but they never put it in the daily planner. No solo table in the MDR that I was aware of. For the meet and greet: Cruise 1: Three showed up and all were solo cruisers. Cruise 2: About 12 showed up. Four of us were solo. The rest were single but travelling with other people. Cruise 3: About 20 showed up. Two were solos. The rest single, travelling with others. Most were groups of singles. Celebrity would not be my first choice for solo travel, but it had the itineraries I wanted and, at the time, no solo supplement and that was more important to me.
  19. Ah okay I'm seeing that now. I had tried about 5 itineraries before giving up. Thank you!
  20. Thanks, but I think this might be based on residency. I'm assuming you're in the US? For me in Canada, every one I've checked that leaves from Vancouver is pricing at 100% single supplement...
  21. I was just quoting information provided by the author of the post to which I linked. You'll have to check with them. My guess would be it's just luck!
  22. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2925912-princess-specific-carnival-corp-plc-shareholder-benefit-faq/ From above: 2.8 Can multiple travelers in a cabin redeem Shareholder Benefit OBC if they are each shareholders? By policy, no. From the official notice: “Only one onboard credit per shareholder-occupied stateroom.” In practice, guests occupying the same stateroom, with different last names and different addresses on the booking, report success when each submits a separate benefit request.
