  1. If you go shopping in PV, I found the walmart lacking in souvenir options. We actually saw a lot of the same for better prices at the Malecon with the added benefit of supporting local businesses and better selections.
  2. I can tell you that the first two on the pier were ridiculously overpriced. We had somewhat of an emergency so we stopped in and the guy charged us in USD and didn't even scan the barcode when ringing in the medicine. It wasn't until later that I noticed there was even a barcode with a price printed on the boxes... We also needed some kid's Tylenol which most farmacias didn't carry. We were referred to farmacia YZA and they had a couple to choose from and I did ring me up correctly. Not 100% if they'll have antibiotics that you're looking for but I can at least attest to having had a positive experience there. BTW, there's farmacias almost on every corner it seems like.
  3. Um?? DH is 6'3" I guarantee you his legs would not fit straight on. Are all Brits expected to be that short? Terrible.
  4. Oh my!! Can the gate agents at BA not help either? 90 minutes seems a little close but at least you have pre check! Best of luck 🤞
  5. I meant holiday "sales" not sailing those dates. I know they'd be too full then 😆
  6. Preliminary search today for a 3 night out of LA sometime in the next few months and I'm seeing no good offers. I know inflation and all that, but I remember seeing better offers last year. I was hoping for some last minute cruise specials. Any chances something will pop up for memorial day or even 4th of July?
  7. If you buy anything outside the included items in the package (a drink over $15 for example) you'll get a receipt you can add a gratuity that way. You can try one of the behind the scenes tours, or any other excursions also.
  8. I thought the same thing at first. Definitely had to do a double take. Then I was like did the color really have to be that close to actual weiners??
  9. Maybe it's the stand but these tacos aren't reminding me of tacos from SD. Proper tacos should be served on styrofoam plates lol
  10. I was gonna say 24 drinks in 14 days isn't very many. I mean some people are capable of that in one day 😂 (not me though).
  11. Excited to follow along! That's an awesome itenerary. Bordeaux and Spanish wines are my favorite; I'd love to do some winery tours with an itenerary like this sometime.
  12. A little. But I don't think you get the same amount of hurricanes on the west coast. Also the home values on the west coast are higher than the properties in hurricane areas, probably exactly for that same reason (I didn't look anything up so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). At least on a ship I don't have to do my own maintenance right? I hear beachfront homes come with their own special set of needs.
  13. Hey Sid idk if you've ever mentioned...how do you feel about Mezcal vs Tequila?
  14. That's compelling. If I'm ever in the situation where a rebook/reprice savings > loss of potential CF value I'll let you know. On another note, if one loses the CF value, can I recancel/book and apply CNC instead?
  15. For me, although having had positive results, buying from a stranger on social media is more risky than the terms of the CF imposed by NCL. Otoh, I'm willing to assess on a case by case basis which certs best meet my needs/situation. I'm glad for these discussions because NCL certainly doesn't make the pros/cons very clear.
  16. The terms state "If a guest with an existing reservation cancels and rebooks the same ship and sail date with a CruiseFirst certificate, the additional value of the CruiseFirst certificate will be removed." From what others have said the additional value of the CF certificate is not removed if using on a a different ship or sail date. So in my logic, something about the rebook triggers the loss of value regardless of which CF certificate is used. I have not had a situation though where I have been willing to test that theory. I think if it was reworded as "if a guest with an existing reservation booked with a CFC cancels and rebooks the same ship and sail date the additional value of the CF will be removed" then the situation you're describing would make sense.
  17. I took a leap of faith and sent the cash via Venmo. She sent the email to NCL cruise next a few minutes later with both our latitude #s, names, email, certificate #s to be transferred, etc, cc'ing me. We received confirmation before I woke up this morning.
  18. I feel like this learning this skill is a requirement to pass freshman year of college, especially living in the dorms!
  19. I was able to buy 2 CNC resale, get them transferred to my account, and applied both to my reservation all within 24 hrs. Thanks y'all!!
  20. If I'm understanding this, CF is either $300 for $150 or $500 for $250. Can only apply to brand new bookings and the sail date has to be more than 120 days after the CF purchase date. You're saving either $150 or $250 depending on the promo at the time of purchase. CN is supposed to be a deposit for a new cruise but people have reportedly applied it to an existing booking. They're usually worth $250 but with the obc they're a $125 net cost. Essentially only saving $125 on a booking or $250 if there's a double up promo. In summary without any promos CF is the better value, and comparing a $500 CF vs CN double up promo you come out even, assuming you are booking a cruise 120 days past purchase date. CF and CN are not combinable.
  21. Uh huh. I keep wishing I could afford beach front property. But until then cruising is a viable alternative.
  22. Hi me again. Asking because I have an existing reservation and final payment is due soon. How would I know if my existing reservation qualifies for the double up promotion?
  23. I bought a CF while on the phone with my TA. She was able to find it and apply it to my booking.
  24. And has it ever impacted the booking promos to do so? So it's not a cancel/rebook type of situation? I chose not to buy any but this is good to know for next time.
