  1. You were able to walk into a 7:00 showing at 6:00. At 6:00, we will be eating dinner and by 7:30 be stuck waiting outside for a 9:00 show in line. I'll be sitting on my scooter while my DH goes to the bar to get us drinks. Now if there is only one show at 9:00, and the door is not locked, we'll be inside as soon as we're done dinner around 7:30. It'll obviously be a fluid situation.
  2. Call back and speak to another agent. I was able to do it online with no problem. 45.00, less 10% silver discount was 40.50 and the 50.00 credit was applied. I got the email confirmation a bit later.
  3. Something looks funny here. If the Jubilee has the same guest capacity as the Celebration at 5374, then why does the Celebration have their gross tonnage listed as 180,800, the same as the MG instead of 182,800, the same as the Jubilee? The extra 46 cabins for the extra 92 people would correlate with the extra 2 K in gross tonnage.
  4. Besides sporting events, there is never anything on TV that I have watched live for close to 20 years since DVR's came out. I guess it's the old adage, you do you and I'll do me.
  5. I think it's stupid to have couches in a small venue taking up valuable real estate. Should be similar to the Howl at the Moon/comedy club on the Escape which had rows of chairs that could fit more people than having couches and tables taking up space. We should hopefully have two days to choose to see the Rumours show since our cruise is for 11 days. Was hoping there would be a live review on the current 12 day repo cruise from NYC to Galveston but sadly there is not. If there was it would give me an inkling as to what to expect.
  6. Fully agree with everything you said with the exception being that NCL is the leader in the evolution of the cruise industry. They were the first to have anytime dining and eliminate the standard early and late slots. And they were the first to have the ship within a ship concept with the Haven and the first to have a go kart track on board. But off the top of my head they are the only three innovations I can think of. They were not the first to have "Broadway Light" entertainment that needed reservations, that was RCI. And many of the new modern innovations on the Prima came right from Celebrity's Edge Class ships. Just like many of the entry level lines are more similar than different, they each have their own set of innovations that they can be proud of. Even Carnival, with their sky bikes, roller coaster, Havana area and multiple comedy club venues on the Excel Class.
  7. I believe that the bar is on the bottom level on deck 6 and it's inside the theater.
  8. Personal preference. We don't do buffets much, never at dinner. The wiener schnitzel was the best thing we had at the MDR and the prime rib was nice and red and not too marbleized. Besides, you need to go to the MDR for Grand Marnier souffle and Bitter n Blanc. Doesn't matter much, four sailings on the MG and she is in our rear view mirror. On to five bookings on the Celebration.
  9. Ever hear about a new fangled thing called a DVR?
  10. I believe that Bird mentioned that there were kiosks on the wall to make reservations, but they were not reliable, similar to the wifi on-board. Also mentioned that connecting to the WiFi prior to getting on the ship to make reservations wasn't feasible either. And we previously sailed on the Bliss and never had a problem getting a seat in the Cavern Club and never stood in a line. Looks like that will change at the end of the month.
  11. If my DH saw some Prima-donna (pun intended) from the Haven snicker or laugh at us standing in line, it would not be a good situation.
  12. I would prefer to have a substantially larger lounge and not the galaxy pavilion. The pavilion is primarily geared for the under 40 crowd, which my husband and I passed a decade and two decades ago. Cruised on the Bliss in the past and will be on the Encore in January and we enjoyed the lounge with the bar. The only downside was the number of people taking siestas. But less space combined with the pavilion that we will not use at all, makes us wish the lounge was larger.
  13. You could always choose your best alternative non Haven cabin and then get Vibe passes. Or just choose another ship.
  14. You mentioned that the observation lounge looks fabulous and from the pictures posted, it does. Unfortunately not as fabulous as the Bliss and Encore since their observation lounges are substantially larger. The game pavilion takes up real estate on the Prima which was relegated to the Observation lounge on the previously mentioned ships.
  15. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have cruised on MSC, NCL, RCI and Carnival and in general they are more similar than different. If I did have to differentiate one line it would be MSC. Not because it was upgraded similar to Princess or Celebrity, but because it was European oriented compared to the other lines in multiple ways. The food selections, the entertainment choices and the clientele in general were all different than the other three US based lines. This is all up to personal preference as to whether or not this constitutes an upgraded experience. You consider it upgraded, based upon my single MSC cruise out of 45 I consider it different. We will be going on the Meraviglia in July out of Brooklyn in an inside Fantastica cabin with easy plus and wifi for under 800 pp, which I consider a good price. Depending upon how this cruise transpires will decide if we will spend 14 days on the Seascape in May of 2024.
  16. There will be a problem. It's a SRO situation and people will be turned away, guaranteed. Luckily our first time on the Prima is for 11 nights, so I would infer that there will be two showings of Rumours. By the time we're back on her at the end of February hopefully the powers that be will implement a showing in the theater with reservations.
  17. Thank you for the crystal clear clarification. Now we just need the back door to be locked for the Haven, lol.
  18. Did you not see any promotions on CBS or read anything about it on line beforehand? I will infer that it's similar to Love Island, another CBS reality show with 20-30 somethings involved. But it's still cruise related to a certain degree and the second show was better than the first one. After factoring out commercials on your DVR, it's 45 minutes of light entertainment from a cruise in the Mediterranean. Nothing wrong with that.
  19. I see what you're saying Joe, but you stated that reservations could be made for all shows and this statement does not correlate with the check off list that Bird downloaded earlier in the thread. It contained options for Donna Summer, Noise Boys, Price is Right and comedy in both the Improv as well as the theater. No option for Rumours in Syd's.
  20. You could have 50 Haven guests escorted into the theater and it wouldn't matter because of the small percentage of the venue they were taking up. But, if the same 50 guests were allowed into Syd's before steerage, now that's where the problem is because then steerage is standing room only.
  21. They certainly did not get it in the Cavern Club when we sailed on the Bliss. We showed up 30 minutes ahead of time and always got seats. Not in the mood to have to wait outside the venue for 60+ minutes in order to see the Rumours show.
  22. We too were on the MG for B2B's in February and again in August. The August sailings had 6000 and 5700. On night two the seating in the MDR opened up at 500 instead of 530, probably because of the influx of lobster tail eaters. If you had checked in around 545, the wait could not have been more than 45-60 minutes. You just have to adjust your check in times depending upon when you wish to eat. There is a big difference between having 6000 people eating dinner on the Excel Class and 40-60% less people on the other ships in the fleet. No need to avoid the MDR on the MG.
  23. I'm still questioning the fact about Haven guests getting priority seating in Syd's. Our last NCL cruise was February 2019 on the Bliss and as long as we showed up early we never had a problem getting seats in the Cavern Club. No reservations were listed on the Birds posted sheet, even the Rumours show, which should definitely be switched to the big theater, similar to how there was one showing of the Beatles tribute band in the theater on the Bliss.
  24. In general, the 3 day cruises are the ones that you need to avoid because they are over the weekend and tend to have a higher percentage of people that choose to over indulge. If you stumble across a 4 day version over a weekend, which would be rare, that would qualify as well. The short weekend party cruise is not limited to just Carnival. NCL, RCI, MSC would also have them. If you had to do it, I would choose one on Celebrity, whose demographic is skewed older than the others.
