Are you sure?  It does show as complimentary on the cruise summary, even though you paid for it as part of choosing the plus or premium booking package. Even on a 7 night, for 2 people it would 840.00, so that seems like a very generous gift.

I’m positive.  We booked last July and asked to have the Plus Package but our TA (daughter) was unable to add it so she called Princess.  We are her 1st Princess booking as she specializes in Disney.  Anyway, she was told it couldn’t be added because it was comped due to the volume of business the agency she works for does with Princess.  We only paid the base rate for the cruise.  I priced it out before calling her to book so I’m absolutely certain we did not pay for the package.  So it really has more to do with the agency than our individual TA but it’s free to us none the less.

I'm sure if you priced out the cruise with another TA, you would find that your TA's price was very high. No TA can afford to give their customers a gift of that size. There just isn't that much profit to be made in booking cruises.

Our TA is our daughter so I’m sure we didn’t over pay for the cruise.

Special art for an access disc seems like a waste of funds. There are no extra on board benefits. Guess Princess will do anything to extract extra funds, no matter how small, from their customers.

Maybe it's a waste to you, but if others are willing to pay to enjoy their medallion a little more, why not?!  The more revenue they generate, the better it is for all of us.  We went with the basic medallion but certainly don't begrudge others who decided to personalize theirs.

  4. I appreciate your write up.  We are sailing on the Caribbean and had purchased 2 Thermal Suite passes for the week for $149 each as you stated.  We ended up upgrading our CC/RC mini-suite to a window suite which includes free access to the Thermal Spa so I was able to cancel the passes.  We actually saved $22 in the process and I feel better knowing that if we don't like the Thermal Suite, we didn't waste money on it.

thanks everyone!  So I got on the phone and at first it looked like I had to re-book under their new promotion which would mean losing the three-for-free promotion and given all the drama I have had with getting refunds for the cruise I cancelled and rebooked in January (still waiting for the last refund to come through!) that was a no go.  Then the woman said, oh hang on, it looks like i can just switch your cabin and you can stay on the same booking, so a mini suite but the same perks.  And so it is done!  So I have actually saved $20 - the bigger cabin didn't cost me anything.  Amazing!

I booked a guarantee cabin (just a very basic balcony) back in 2019 for the Baltics cruise on the Regal and it was fine, so I will just hope for a repeat of that experience,  only with a big bathroom and more space!  Thrilled.

Good choice!  Bigger bathroom and all the perks that come with the mini is a no brainer.  Glad it worked out for you!!

  6. Izena - I can't imagine running across snakes on your walks - even if they are not dangerous!  I guess we all get used to nature in our own areas, but yikes!

Jan - so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law.  Glad your grandson conquered his fears onboard and you all had a great time!  Praying for your family.

Belle - love and appreciate your encouragement!

Today I weighed in 1.2 lbs less than last week.  I've lost 15 lbs in the past 90 days and have about 16 to go to meet my cruise weight goal with 64 days to do it.  Weather is finally getting nice enough to get out and walk again but meanwhile I've been doing yoga to get some exercise in.  My golf leagues start next week so that will help with moving as well. We have another birthday party on Saturday for one of our granddaughters but I plan to eat ahead of time and stick to water - wish me luck!!

    Another weekend is here.

Do you find that weekends are harder to follow your eating plans then

     the weekdays?

Or is it the same--every day is a hard day?

What is harder for you--Daytime or nighttime?

I definitely find weekends harder. Seems every weekend we have something going on - dinner with friends, birthday parties for the grandkids, dinner theater tickets, etc.  Week days are easier for me to stick to my routine so I try to be really good during the week and do the best I can on weekends.

I was under impression that if you cancelled something like a SD res on-board, they posted refund as Refundable OBC to the cabin account.  Wouldn't expect refund to form of payment, nor have to expect a check.

I booked SD and later cancelled to book a different restaurant and received a credit back to my credit card a couple days later. I also booked 2 thermal suite passes and then later cancelled after upgrading to a suite which includes complimentary passes. Those charges were also refunded to my card within a couple days.

  9. Hi everyone!  I went out with friends last Friday after having a good weigh-in the day before.  Well, I set myself back a week 😞  I should know not to go out with friends on a Friday in Wisconsin - fish fry, old fashioneds, and ice cream drinks are not good for my diet.  Also didn't help that we went from beautiful 80 degree weather to snow this week which prevented me from getting out to walk.  Today my weight is the same as las week, so no loss for me, womp womp.  Buuuut I am seeing a difference in the mirror and in how my clothes fit so I'll take those non-scale victories and be better this week!  I'm still (barely) on track to meet my goal by our cruise day so it's not all bad.  Wishing everyone a good week and happy scales next Thursday!  Congrats on the loss Susan and hope you're doing good Belle!

Oh yes we’ve also seen the Super Bowl on the big screen before and loved the atmosphere!! Guess we are not sure if basketball playoffs are considered “big” enough to show on the big screen (or anywhere at all?)

So the Cubs probably won't be "big" enough for a random July game either?  jk, but hoping it's on in one of the bars!

Belle thanks for starting this week.

I’ve not weighed -  I’ve been awful —sugar cravings are out of control.   I’m working on getting back to an acceptable routine.   I have no excuses.   Jazzper did very well with having teeth cleaned and multiple extractions.

MT  you live in southern Wi - I lived in Platteville (sw corner WI) for 6 years 1975-1981

    happy for those who lost

Hi yes!  I'm in Genoa City, work in Lake Geneva.  I have a niece who went to school in Platteville 😄

I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting your routine back!

  12. Ugh - sorry about that Alabaster - how frustrating!!

Happy to say I was really good over Easter.  We took my mother-in-law to brunch and I didn't cheat at all.  Even with 7 grandkids, no candy either!  I'm down 2.2 lbs today which I am thrilled with.  I started walking this week now that we finally have some good weather in Wisconsin and it feels great to be outside and moving more. I'm nearly 1/2 way to my goal before our cruise and if I keep up the pace, I'll be there about 2 weeks before we leave - which I'll need to buy some new clothes!

Love the WEIGHING analogy - hope everyone has a good week!

Ours was an ADA cabin, so it has a roll-in shower with floor drains/grates all the way around it.  The flooding was caused by one side of the curtain, which fell 6" shorts of the floor, had its ceiling track just slightly outside of the grates, so the water came down on the floor in the rest of the bathroom.  Fairly easy to diagnose.  I am simply amazed that in the nearly 20 years that this ship has been on the seas, no one has corrected the simple issues.  You could see where the tiles/wall had been re-caulked many, many times over.

Wow, you’d think they would fix that being an ADA cabin!

How does one view their account before boarding?

I have looked at the "Payment & Credits" tab when logged into the website, but I sure don't see much, & certainly not all of the $$ activity r/t our trip.

I received a detailed receipt from my TA after booking that shows all our reservation details, payments, OBC, etc.  You can also view your OBC on the website by first logging into your account, then click on the "payments" icon as shown in the screen shot below.  Scroll down to the bottom and you will see your OBC credits.image.thumb.png.b65ab2d758a125f82fb7757050a22d20.png

    Total Onboard Credits $125.00 $25.00 $150.00
    Shareholders Benefits* $100.00 $0.00 $100.00
    Travel Agent Grp Promotion* $25.00 $25.00 $50.00

*Please enjoy using these credits onboard as they are not refundable.

  15. Our OBC from our TA shows in our account and has since we paid our deposit last July.  We made 2 SD reservations a couple days after booking and paid by credit card.  We are 1st time cruisers and just assumed OBC was for use while on board, which seems that it is.  OP, if I were you, I’d just pay the SD fee now and enjoy the OBC during your trip so you don’t have to stress about getting a reservation.
