This is what I'm doing next cruise. Looked at Princess hotels and then decided to pay for my hotel pre cruise (3 nights) with CC points and I've arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport. Will then take a cab to the cruise terminal.
You are correct, WestJet does not overbook:
WestJet Policy
Unfortunately they seem to be cutting back on service to eastern Canada - one flight per day now YOW-YYZ. AC and Porter are better choices for eastern Canadians these days, especially as Porter has announced expansion to Victoria and Vancouver with their new E-Jets
I'm not small and out of the millions of miles I've flown on multiple airlines I can say I find standard Rouge to the most unbearable and uncomfortable of them all. And I never recline my seat when flying the cheap seats, so I have something going for me 🙂
As far as I'm aware AC does not overbook business class. Not sure about Premium Economy. In terms of overbooking they're no different from other airlines. Most airlines overbook Economy
In terms of being bumped out of business class (on AC), it can happen because deadheading pilots need the seat (which is different from overbooking)
I can't edit post #8 so here's an update to it:
Just purchased 2x$125(CAD) of OBC. On my Travel Summary it shows I now have $200 (USD) of OBC. This is quite the deal - exchange rate of just 1.25 and because I paid in CAD there are no ForEx fees on top of the transaction on my CC.
So today I bought some OBC for my upcoming cruise (2x $100 USD). In my travel summary it shows both $100 credits under my name. Given that my companion (under the same booking) may purchase things on board, will my OBC cover her purchases too?
Not sure I understand your argument. If privacy is a concern why would it matter if you have RC or not? If you don't like the lack of privacy then don't book a cabin that can be looked into, whether it be RC or not.
And I've flown rouge once. Never again. I could not move once in my seat. Far too little legroom. For smaller people or for small children rouge is passible IMO
My flights home after my cruise are on Oct 14 on AC. I'll either be on them or I'll let EZ Air handle the issue. At least I should have no problem getting to embarkation port (different airline).
Just one man's opinion but if you're larger than a child avoid standard legroom seats on Rouge. Your body will thank you and you won't feel like a squished sardine
I have ticket numbers (13 digits) for my EZAir flexible flights for a cruise embarking 30 sep this year. Final payment not yet made. Seems Princess has paid (at least) the taxes for the tickets.
