  1. Thanks. Hard to tell. We are assuming they are going back to the 90 day thing. But a few weeks ago said pre booking wasn't coming back. And Wonder isn't on the list of ships in planner. It's so hard to keep up anymore. So to make sure we are assuming right I now have to check constantly. Don't want to accidentally be left out and last to book.
  2. There are people on other boards saying they booked on Wonder??? But when I look at the planner Wonder isn't an option??? Anyone else book Wonder???
  3. Just checked in planner. Wonder is not on the list of ships you can do this on. So they weren't going back to this, but now are only for certain ships. That stinks!!!
  4. OK, just read full description again. At the bottom it says : Important details and advisements "Charlotte Amalie drop-off is optional. Return to ship at your own expense." So I guess if you choose to get dropped off on way back to shop & eat, you are then on your own back the rest of the way.
  5. I was confused also at first. The more I read it, the more it sounded like an option. Still not 100 % sure though.
  6. I've said this before, I'll say it again. Being at the pool, is using a pool chair. In the water or in the seat. That's the same way it works at any pool on earth. You know it and so do I. Now going to lunch, taking a nap in cabin, etc different story. If your "at the pool" you are using the facilities and all that goes with it. And we all know the difference between at the pool and 6 decks down.
  7. "Armed guards at the gate". "Just another beach day". Lol. I'll take the other side of the argument here. I think there is the potential for folks to have a false sense of security about this location. However, the bottom line is if reading about gates and guards with guns doesn't scream vacation to you, then don't do it. Pick a different itinerary. You have to be comfortable with your choice. It's a place I avoid because I don't feel safe and haven't for years. My personal choice. If it don't feel right, don't do it.
  8. First you would have to assume it's been discussed before. Not everyone is a regular.
  9. Stupid question. If phone is in airplane mode, does clock keep up with time and time zone?
  10. I also have to say just pay for extra luggage. I pay for checked bags on every flight. If your in for X amount of thousands for a trip, why stress over another $40 or so. I have one bag that's just bathroom, shoes and a fan. One full of clothes. Plus a carry on with minimum 2 to 3 days worth of clothes just incase the rest gets lost. I just consider the price for luggage another part of the trips overall expenses. And I'm all about cutting corners, but you need the things you need.
  11. I totally disagree. I think this ship has the perfect layout to separate kids and adults. The upper deck with multiple pools in different locations, shapes, sizes etc as well as a large adult only pool area and kids pool and play area almost a dozen decks below is a perfect recipe for giving something for everyone. And the rest like bringing the aqua theater inside for bad weather only improves upon Oasis class ships. All other features are just modern Oasis class options. Multiple water slides seems to have many overlook the rest of the new top deck multiple pools and hot tubs adults only features. They are only part of the ship and will occupie hours and hours of young peoples time and energy. This will keep many busy just by waiting in lines for a turn on them, freeing up space for the adults. Disney does a fantastic job of separating kids and adults during the day. I can go hours on a Disney ship without seeing a child. I see many similarities to this layout. I'm over 50 with no children and I booked this morning because of the pools, layout, adults only areas, distance in decks between kids pool/play area and adults deck area. I see the benefits of keeping them busy. Especially during the day.
  12. Yes, I've changed my Wonder May 2023 2 times in the past month and a half. $100 per person changed fee each time. No problems making a change of date or ship.
  13. I just did it! Booked an inside GTY for 2 for May 2024 for $1040 per person. $250 each deposit (Non refundable). Any problems and I pay $100 change fee to another date. Way cheaper option. Planning on purchasing my own insurance down the road. Only about $100 more pp then I'm paying for Wonder in May 2023. Not too bad.
  14. The bottom line for me is about people gone for hours at a time. It's a fine line and you need to make sure that's the case. I don't want to stress about finding a chair. However, I don't want to stress 5 minutes into being in a pool that someone is miscalculating how long I've been gone from my chair either. I see that becoming a whole new stress if this isn't handled carefully.
  15. Well No. I don't see this as working because I associate the chair with the pools and hot tubs. It gets me that you said leave the area for bar or bathroom but left out pools and hot tubs. I'll assume that was a mistake on your part. But of course that's the problem. Defining what the chair/area/use/need is for. I do think chairs in the pool area are for the pool area guests. Not those sleeping or having lunch etc etc. We all know the difference. Edit. OK I noticed you said venue. I assume that was the pool/hot tub reference.
  16. Here is some black and white help. Given your date of Feb you can wait on black Friday sales for internet, drinks, etc. They will not sell out, so whatever the black Friday sale is will still probably be a few bucks savings. Now thinks like shore excursions could sell out by end of November for February. Don't wait. Buy now and if black Friday sale is better you can risk canceling and rebooking if it still has a lot of inventory. It's risky. You have to keep checking how close to sold out/popular things look. That's why I say hold off mostly on things they cannot run out of like drinks, internet, etc. But I wouldn't on things that have space limitations like excursions or anything there may only be enough room for x amount of people. Late November then becomes too close to February. I have things I cannot get now for May at any price because they are sold out. But still holding out for black Friday for beverages etc. Hope this helps. (Just noticed you mentioned photo packages. They won't ever run out of them. Lol. Hold out for black friday) Again, excursions act now.
  17. No I wasn't. I still say they should take the hit and salvage what they can. And buy insurance. Always, buy insurance.
