  1. I booked in August, paid in full, switched end of August, paid fare difference ($100 pp change fee waived). Changed again this week and only was charged $100 pp change fee. Change fee still varies based on person you deal with, but more so what the change is. Each time my rez went up in price or cat.
  2. The OP should IMHO just be use to purchasing travel insurance as a general rule, since it appears they do not. I wasn't getting into any medical specifics. And for the hell of it since you went there. There are many reasons medical and other that can be explored when making a claim. Oh, I agree the devil is in the details. But if you have the insurance in the first place, you have a shot at fighting fire with fire. Also, it's advise I always give when someone says they don't have it. It doesn't cure everything, but does give a fighting chance.
  3. I've switched twice in the past 2 months for various reasons. Switch, pay the fees, and salvage the overall cost and money you have spent. And a big P.S. Buy insurance for the new reservation!!! Go online and get it on your own. I paid about $110 per person to insure about $4k in trip costs. Worth every penny.
  4. $100.00 per person change fee plus whatever the fare difference would be.
  5. Flight is 11:50am. No choice unless we want to spend another $400 each. Coming in day before. Using rental car to the port. Taking private shuttle, just for us, back to airport. Also getting tsa pre check next week. Made last minute plans to fly home the day before Thanksgiving at 6am for family visit, so we can now really justify tsa pre check cost. Lol.
  6. I love the order of this list. "How much money a person is accustomed to regularly spending", "how much discretionary money they allow themselves to spend", and way down at the bottom "their income, etc". Particularly love the comma etc. For many of us "income" is at the top of that list. And I don't "view" $100 as a lot of money. The math of my life does that for me. It's not "relative to their outlook" it's just plain dollars and cents math. Not everyone gets to decide how important $100 is to their bottom line. The black and white math of their very existence does that for them.
  7. The answers given so far are spot on. No need to go beyond unless maybe you ask something special of someone. So basically with your pre paid you are good. Happy to see it's all coming together for you.
  8. Look at it this way. If your wife doesn't feel that great. There's nothing better then your own bed. And now you have the fun of planning the next trip. Bigger and better. Maybe time to add a surprise or two for her.
  9. Honestly, it sounds like your wife needs more time at home to get well and rest before doing any more traveling. Sometimes no matter how much we would like, things have to change.
  10. You can get a private shuttle with cruise control for just your party for the return. It runs about $110, but you don't have to wait for it to fill with others and be on your way to airport faster for your noon flight. Also, consider getting tsa pre check. Then a noon flight will have a much better chance of working out.
  11. Read OP other thread "Wonder of the seas UDP: WindJammer beverages and eat 24/7" Up until an hour ago they thought paying auto grats in advance meant no tipping for anything, including individual purchased drinks. It's a new world to them and I've tried hard to give them the facts without personal preference because they have misunderstood a few things and I feel bad for them. Every time they think they have got it, another added expense comes into play. Lol.
  12. You got me on not adding the 18% to the $8.99 total. $10.60 per day would be the cost. However if you tack on a full buck tip like I said you are at $9.00 for 2 a day. $13.50 for 3 a day. My problem with your answers is the OP asked a very specific question about cost of individual vs buying a package. I try very hard to give accurate info without going into my personal preferences. You start with the line "To be argumentative" and that says let's go at it to me. If you take the math and slam on a buck tip the 2 vs 3 a day to break even goes out the door.
  13. To be argumentative. Only you could actually find time out of your little life to argue 2 1/2 drinks Vs 3.
  14. To be argumentative. Who ever cares (but you) one way or another what happens to the stupid cup when cruise is over.
  15. To be argumentative. Nobody but you would go all the way back to there cabin to grab a can of soda every single time they wanted one.
  16. To be argumentative. The OP as well as myself did not ask you what YOU tippicaly drink. They asks if they should buy a package or buy individually and what the individual costs per drink was. What I was trying to do was to help them. What are you trying to do?
  17. If you buy a soda at $3.50 they will add 18% bringing you to $4.13. Most would just round that up to $4.50 making the tip an entire dollar. This is Not included in prepay gratuities. It would be included in a soda package which would cost $8.99 per day plus 18% gratuity. But the general auto added pre paid gratuities don't include the 18% or more if you choose when purchasing individual drinks.
  18. At $3.50 a soda plus say you add a $1.00 tip = $4.50 x2 = $9.00. 2 sodas on a plan at $8.99 a day, you break-even by your second drink per day.
  19. I don't think you can compare bringing a 12 pack from home. Most folks aren't gonna run and get a can from cabin before meals etc. As far as 2 1/2 goes. You said $3.50 = $4.13 with 18% tip. X 2 = 8.26 (which come on is almost $8.99. 2 1/2 would be $10.33 including the 18% tip. And let's not forget if buying individual at $3.50 your tip will probably be a full buck, bringing each to $4.50. X2 = $9.00 So 2 drinks on $8.99 package really is the break-even point.
  20. If folks aren't having luck with bar code tricks etc and are say a week out, would calling to find out be an answer or just a time waste?
  21. Basically 2 drinks and you break even on a $8.99 a day package. Or less if it's $5.99 on black Friday.
  22. I don't think it's being a jerk. If someone is going into my bag, I want to know first. Also, if they take something from me I want to know I'm getting it back when I leave.
