  1. So. outside of the call taking 60 minutes to complete (35 minute hold time and then additional 20 minute hold to get me to a reservation agent), it was easy peasy! They added the extra $50 to the existing $200 that was added a week ago when I originally called about the Black Friday sale. And if they offer $5 more on Monday, you can bet I'll call again. 🙂

  5. Chances are 100% I booked my June 2023 cruise last month. A week ago, when the OBC sale was advertised, I called Celebrity CS and asked if they would price match with OBC. They ended up giving me a $200 OBC for my Aqua Class cabin. It will only work as long as the sale cruise price has not increased (which it shouldn't have for you) and as long as you did NOT submit final payment. Call and let us know how you made out.
  6. Aaah, thanks. Unfortunately, those are already taken on my cruise but good to know that is where the AQ AFT cabins are.
  7. Yeah, I completely understand. Would love to try an AFT facing cabin. However, giving up BLU and access to the Spa (which my girlfriend wants) is just too much to step down. I am going to keep an eye on possible AQ AFT cancellations on my current cruise close to final payment day.

  9. This may be a silly question, but I won't find out for certain unless I ask... Have always wanted to try an AFT cabin. Everyone raves about them. I was disappointed when I booked an Aqua Class cabin aboard Summit next year that all the AFT cabins were taken. So, I just booked what was available. Then I come to find out, there ARE two AFT cabins presently available on the cruise (deck 9) The reason I never saw them was due to picking Aqua Class and assuming all cabins on Deck 9 were AQ classified. Is it possible to call customer service, have them switch my room to an AFT while keeping me in AQ benefits? I would think the only thing I would lose is the special cabin amenities that come with Aqua Class. Mind you, it's not do or die that I get an AFT cabin. If I stand to lose more than I gain, or, it's impossible to make the change, I'll just stay where I am. Thanks, in advance, for all who answer.
  10. From what I understand, the option to order off the Main Dining Room menu while in BLU is only available on M-CLASS ships (Apex is an EDGE CLASS) as the kitchens are adjoined. Someone please correct me on this if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that's accurate.
  11. On some ships -- I know SUMMIT is one of them -- you can order off the Main Dining Room menu in Blu. I was also concerned about the bland, healthy-fare food that Blu offers and was relieved that at least on our upcoming cruise, we can order a regular meal.
  12. Really, it seems the only people making out on this sale are those of us that booked in the past month or two. I didn't see my price go up at all and I was able to get the OBC as a bonus through this offering. However, it's very apparent by the responses here that those that booked further back will not benefit.

  14. True. However, this is a cruise forum and I generally don't go to foreign beaches with my iPhone unless I am arriving by ship or otherwise. Just looking to see how some cruisers are protecting their valuables. Thanks for the help
  15. So, if I am understanding correctly, I can bring a scanned copy of my passport or Drivers License while in port, leaving the originals in the safe. My other concerns... 1. When in port, I would think everyone likes to bring their phone to take photos,. But what do you do with that phone when at the beach and you decide to go swimming? How can you protect it from theft? My first guess would be a wearable waterproof protector. 2. Same scenario as above when swimming. How do you protect your beach bag and whatever is inside from being stolen? Is this even an issue to be concerned about? Any other tips some experienced cruisers may have would be appreciated.
  16. Good question. We are sailing for the first time on Celebrity next June. Been looking at check-in videos and at one point the app asks for (I believe) a photo of your passport.
  17. I have no affiliation with The Insurance Store, but if you are concerned about insurance as a solo traveler, I would at least make a phone call and talk to Steve and find out what options are available to you if you need to make a claim while incapacitated.
  18. Finally found it but it took about a dozen clicks to find it. You have to go to PLAN YOUR CRUISE then click on the circled initials and find order history. I am sure I just found it another way. I'll say this, it wasn't an intuitive process. They could have made finding it easer. Appreciate the help.
  19. Thank you. Didn't exactly go as well as you instructed. I was clicking all over the place according to your instructions and found nothing. However, I finally did get to a screen that shows by OBC in the top toolbar. However, I can't find my Premium WiFi package listed anywhere, though in a recent phone call, Celebrity confirmed its on my account. I guess I'll see it when I board the ship.
  20. Please excuse me in advance. I may be blatantly missing something right in front of me. However, I have had two adjustments made to my upcoming cruise reservation since I booked it. The first was adding a Premium WiFi package. The second was taking advantage of today's Black Friday sale and Celebrity price matching by adding OBC credit to my account. In both cases they sent me a confirmation email NOT with those items listed on it, but directing me to the website and MANAGE MY ACCOUNT. So, now I am signed in to the Celebrity website. I go to MANAGE MY ACCOUNT. All my important reservation information is there but none of the add-ons are listed. I also don't see it listed in the app. Is there anywhere I can make certain Celebrity did add these to my account prior to boarding?
  21. When I shopped for insurance I made certain it was PRIMARY. You are right, that is very important. However (and I don't know if this is sound advice), Steve at the Insurance Store suggested filing first with your own medical insurer as most have a yearly deductible which could be met with the claim.
  22. Okay, I just called Celebrity. They WILL add OBC to your current reservation for this Black Friday sale. In my case it was $200 for the cabin (Aqua Class)
  23. Okay, need to ask... Have an Aqua suite on Summit next June. Just priced this out and it still costs the same. Can I call Celebrity and have them add the OBC or do I have to cancel and rebook? What happens to my $500 deposit if I have to cancel and rebook?
