  1. What is the extra charge to use a Peloton? I thought I had read somewhere that there is an upcharge. Thanks
  2. Yes, but that terminal arrival time should also dictate the order in which you are going to board the ship (after suite boarding) correct? Also, I am assuming if I want to have the earliest chance of boarding the ship then I will need to check in at midnight, 45 days prior to sailing for the earliest selection of available slots. Correct?
  3. Certainly hoping that is the case -- and it is possible. I am in the FB group for this ship and will continue to ask current cruisers what their experience is. I suspect we will hear more from that group, as well as those who post here, over the next few weeks.
  4. This is obviously something that we have to keep an eye on. Perhaps policy has recently changed. We'll know for certain as more cruisers report back as to whether they were allowed to order off of the MD menu.
  5. I can't personally speak for Luminae or Blu as I have not personally been on a Celbrity cruise yet (sailing next year), but have been pursuing the notion that you can order off the MD menu in both these restaurants. Someone on the Summit FB page, who is currently onboard, has just posted that Blu is no longer allowing ordering off the MD menu. A couple was told that the rules had just been recently changed. Here is the actual post: I’m in blu now and they told me they changed the rules a few weeks ago. They do not allow people to order off of menus from other dining rooms anymore
  6. Yeah, that post I quoted is from someone who is on the Summit right now and has been posting on Facebook. And, listen, there could be some sort of miscommunication here. I think it's something that we need to monitor. I'm sure we will hear from other cruisers who can confirm or deny that information. I really don't want to have to deal with the MDR if in Aqua Class, but at the same time, I'd like better food choices. Let's hope this information is incorrect.
  7. Yeah, it was impossible to tell if they allowed it or not. If you read the multiple posts on the subject, the overwhelming response was that they did allow it on M class ships where kitchens were shared. In fact, this Facebook posting that I got the information from suggests that it was allowed but the rules have recently changed... I’m in blu now and they told me they changed the rules a few weeks ago. They do not allow people to order off of menus from other dining rooms anymore
  8. Someone who is currently on Summit has posted on Facebook that Blu no longer allows you to order off the dining room menu. The rules were apparently recently changed to prohibit it.
  9. Apple AirPods Max. Does a great job of canceling out airplane noise and putting you in your own sanctuary. The Sony XM5 is also very highly rated
  10. I generally don't drink alcohol these days, but when I do, it's a simple rum and coke. I see under Classic package that Bacardi is listed as an applicable brand. I should expect a Bacardi and Coke to fall within the $9 limit?
  11. Thanks for the clarification, Rich. One can easily be fooled by the wording of some of the FAQs. BTW, my thanks for your diligence in answering questions on this forum. You have been very helpful to me through the many posts I have made here. Much appreciated.
  12. Here's an additional question I am not clear on and it seems to vary from site to site when I look it up in a Google search... Are gratuities included in either the Classic or Premium drinks package? Some sites say it is. However, on the Celebrity page their FAQ reads as follows: "Are gratuities included in the Celebrity Cruises Drink Package cost? No, a 20% service charge will be added to Soda, Wine, Water, Classic, and Premium Package prices at checkout." So, I have this drink package (classic) included with my Aqua category. I can have all the sodas, basic water and lower-tier alcoholic drinks at no additional cost as much as I want. However, there will be a service charge waiting for me at the end of my cruise for enjoying these drinks? And, BTW, the Aqua class also claims "All tips included" though I am now beginning to think that's just for service. Can I just get clarification on this please? Thanks so much!
  13. Yes. I should have looked this one up. Here is the comparison chart: https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/beverage-packages/compare-packages
  14. My girlfriend and I aren't drinkers Would like bottled water available to me on a daily basis. I take it that's included in the classic package?
  15. Ken, Is there another buffet on Deck #12? I know there is one on Deck #10.
  16. Maybe I have no right to offer an answer as I have not personally sailed on the Summit as of yet. However, I am booked for my first sailing in June 2023 in an Aqua Class cabin and I had the exact same question as you. I literally spent hours pouring over Internet reviews pertaining to Deck 9 and 11 cabins. Got a lot of answers to questions, but one thing I found, they were not consistent. More on that in a moment. I am on deck #9 for my sailing. Technically, this is the noisiest deck to have a cabin since the pool and buffet are right above on deck #10. Deck #9 also has an overhang that extends above the balconies. For me, it's not a big deal to have the overhang. I chose cabin #9125 which is supposed to have the shortest amount of coverage since there is a "dip" in the ship. I did consider deck #11 cabins, but for one, the balconies are supposed to be tiny compared to those on deck #9 (unless you get aft facing cabins) and that's what pushed me away. Additionally, there are some occupants who said they heard noise from the late night entertainment on that deck. What was not consistent from one reviewer to another were noise levels. Some heard lots of noise on these decks during their sailing, some did not. Hoping to read some reviews from those that have stayed in both.
  17. Good to hear. We picked 9125 as it "should" have the shortest amount of overhang of all the other cabins around it. Cabin 9131 is a few doors down so it's good to know that it's a quiet area.
  18. It may just be on Summit, but the Aqua Class cabins on deck #11 (253 sq. ft.) are smaller than deck #9 (271 sq. ft.) Not a big deal in the long run. Happy to hear no noise for you.
  19. This may be the reason why gratuity options showed up in my Aqua reservation when I selected a dining time preference in the Main Dining Room. I think your pre-paid gratuities are supposed to be for one restaurant. That's why (I believe) gratuities are added to special dining venues. So, as you pointed out, Aqua Class passengers are expected to use their exclusive dining area as not to take up space in the MD that is designated for lower class passengers. That's just my thoughts
  20. Thanks for sharing that. Good to know. The gratuities stopped appearing on my reservation (per post #4 above), so that issue is resolved.
  21. Congrats! My girlfriend is most excited about Aqua class because she wants to use the Spa. Me? I like not having to deal with MD and have an exclusive, more intimate area to eat (Blu). I think the service will be far better there -- especially with the staff getting to learn your eating habits. I also like the fact that on most ships, you can eat off the MD menu so really, no need to go to MD at all. The only downside is that Aqua cabins are on the 9th deck which is VERY noisy since it sits below the pool and horizon court. It seems most people pick either the aft cabins or under Solarium for silence and view. Could have gone to deck #11 in Aqua Class but those rooms are smaller and then there are noise issues from evening activities. Have a great cruise!
  22. I just booked my first cruise aboard Celebrity Summit for next June. I booked Aqua Class. All gratuities are supposed to be included. We plan to dine in Blu, which our class has exclusive access to. However, I also thought about dining in the MD for a night or two. So, I went into my reservation and added a preferred dining time. That immediately added an approx. $230 gratuity charge to my cruise total. I had the option of declining the gratuity -- which I did -- but a day later the charge was back. I don't know if this is a tech error, or, since gratuities are included for BLU, it isn't added for the Main Dining Room and a suggested charge was added (that I have to keep declining) Just be aware of the issue I am having at the moment.
  23. Just booked our first Celebrity cruise for next year. Wasn't even thinking of getting insurance. Have sailed many times during the late 90s and early 2000s and never bought insurance. However, my girlfriend and I are in our late 50s and we realize there is always the chance that there could be a medical emergency while out of the country that our insurance would not cover. I did some limited insurance compares with THE INSURANCE STORE and ALLIANZ. However, Celebrity CruiseCare seems to be the best deal I have seen. $285 for the state room (both of us) for 7 days. ...and I don't need the trip insurance. We are from the port state. Not flying. Not worried about our luggage being lost and how valuable the contents (though maybe I should be). Don't know if someone offers just medical coverage for a week. If you have a recommendation, would be most appreciative.
