I purchased these to have a bathroom nightlight on the Zaandam. It fit in the shaver outlet on the wall. (Six lights for under $10.00.) Now using several in my hallways at home. I keep one in my suitcase for whenever we travel now.

We enjoyed walking to the Citadel from the cruise port 2 weeks ago. A lovely women at the dockside information area mapped a route for us that included the Basilica, Library and gorgeous Public Garden. Because we visited the above mentioned areas, our walk took over an hour at a leisurely pace.

We were in Bar Harbor last week and tendered off the ship. The time from lineup to boarding the tender to shore was less than 30 minutes. There are restrooms in the building you walk past after exiting the tender. Turn left at the top of the walk ramp and left at the end of the building. Was great to be able to change my shirt after getting wet kayaking!

Our inside cabin on Zaandam - thanks RuthC!

I want to give thanks to RuthC for letting us use her great inside cabin on Zaandam main deck last week! The cabin was spacious, had more storage than we needed, was nicely chilly and silent at night. (We would have never chosen this cabin on our own due to the ‘Empty’ space around it.) We never missed having a window due to the fact we weren’t in it much during daylight hours and our cruise was pretty much fogged in when we we under way. We enjoyed the ship and staff so much that we are looking at future cruises on her or her sister ship. Hope we can borrow RuthC’s room again!

Knitting Basics is listed, in the app, under events for our upcoming Canada/New England cruise. Thanks, but it is probably not the same as Project Linus.

Does anyone know if knitting needles and yarn are available onboard when participating in the Knitting Basics event?

Is HAL looking to disappoint Have it All Passengers
PolythenePam57 replied to Ipeeinthepools's topic in Holland America Line
Have HIA for a July cruise and have already booked the included dinner (on the app). It would have been very disappointing to try and have been unable to book a prepaid dinner once onboard. -
I was in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor over the Christmas Holiday. We did all our tipping and purchasing with US dollars. Drivers and tour guides were very happy to receive $5 to $20 in tips. The average wage in Egypt is $100 to $150 per week.
