  1. As there are three dining rooms which one has the embarkation day lunch?
  2. Whether you go afternoon or evening bear in mind it could be cold and/or wet and take appropriate clothing. Also if you are sitting you will probably need a cushion and if you get a "groundling" ticket you could be standing for three hours
  3. Be aware that even if you have a timed ticked this is just for entry to the Tower itself. There may also be a queue to enter the jewel house which can move quite slowly at busy times.
  4. I would most definitely agree
  5. When we first started cruising 15 years ago cheese was brought to the table on a trolley and the waiter would slice off whatever portion size you required. Our most recent experience, on a different cruise line, was a couple of tiny slices served on a very cold plate so that it was stunned into tastelessness.
  6. My husband and I will be taking our first Princess cruise in the spring. We neither of us eat deserts but do enjoy cheese at the end of dinner. Is the selection good? We are British and enjoy to a wide variety of European cheeses.
  7. If you can manage your luggage consider self disembarkation, saves the hunt for luggage 😁
  8. There are lots of lovely restaurants on the beach at Le Havre. Got to be the Moule Frit and a carafe of crisp white wine 😋
  9. Thank you for your comments. The reviews of Aer Lingus I have read haven't been very encouraging. Will ensure we are adequately fed and watered before going the to the preclearance area.
  10. We are UK passport holders. We will be flying to Miami with Aer Lingus via Dublin, chosen primarily to take advantage of preclearance of US immigration and customs. We will be seated in economy. Does anyone have experience of (a) flying long haul with Aer Lingus in economy (b) Dublin airport transit and preclearance?
  11. No "blue book" for UK cruisers
  12. In the UK all documents are now being sent electronically but unfortunately this does not include printable luggage tags. Was not happy with getting them at the cruise terminal, it could be chaos! Spoke to my TA and she has arranged for some to be sent in the post. I don't have a problem with printing the tags, I have some very sturdy holders which I have used for other cruise lines.
  13. How do I get from FLL to the Fort Lauderdale Brightline station?
  14. The most useful thing when in a non-english speaking country is to master the phrase "I don't speak (French/Spanish/Catalan/whatever). People in other countries are generally very pleased that that you made an effort and then speak excellent English
  15. You can get to Waterloo by underground utilising either the Piccadilly or Elizabeth line and the Jubilee line
  16. A simple search on Google maps will give you many hotel possibilities. Travelodge and Premier Inn are basic but clean and the beds are OK. Unfortunately prices will be quite high because of the short notice
  17. If you are planning to get to Southampton by train (the station is only a short taxi journey to the cruise terminals) you might want to consider an hotel near Waterloo station (which is where the trains to Southampton go from).
  18. Our last cruise out of Southampton was in November, no restrictions on entering the building
  19. Our cruise out of Southampton in June will be using the new Horizon Terminal opened in 2021. The layout looks very different to the other terminals we have used previously
  20. I remember our very first muster drill on O, some 15 years ago. We were required to go to our muster station and all crush together next to our assigned lifeboat. It was are more innocent time..... And wearing our lifebelts
  21. I have a very small purse, just big enough for a credit card or key card with a strong clip on the side which I can clip into my waistband
  22. The London Cruise Terminal is served by Tilbury Town train station. The train station is about a mile away from the terminal and only a few minutes by taxi. Trainline or National Rail Enquiries can assist with train timings and bookings. I think there is also a bus to Tilbury Town from the ferry terminal close by. Trains from Tilbury Town go to Fenchurch Street station
  23. I regret that I wasn't paying sufficient attention and allowed the spell check free reign 🤦 but I'm sure Beveridge will forgive me in time
