Please understand their position. They are not part of Carnival Corporation so many things that I personally can do with a CVP or TA (book solo, use 1 FCD to secure any cruise, refare or rebook to capture a price drop) I cannot do onboard as their commission is diminished and that's not in their best business interests. So I select it onboard either by placing it on hold or sending a screenshot to my CVP in port. Then she gets it for me before I get back from wandering.  When I have wifi I just send her an email immediately. I can have it and secure it with 1 FCD I just can't utilize the ONE (Future Cruise Consultants) onboard

    Its just like:

Some TAs give cash discounts or OBC, but not all

Some CVPs answer promptly & find hidden discounts, some are no better than the general 1800Princess or www.princess.com

Are you sure Future Cruise Agents make commission?  When the Future Cruise Agent was interviewed on the Wake Show, she was encouraging everyone to book onboard by telling them their bookings would/could be transferred to their preferred TA or CVP.  Seems odd she would be broadcasting that if they would lose their commission, no?  When I emailed my CVP and asked if I should book onboard or let her book 2 cabins, she  replied with the following:   “The onboard team should be able to assist you and I believe they have a promotion running which should include this voyage. Please, just let them know you would like it to be booked under me so that when you return I can take a look at things for you. I would be more than happy to assist in setting something up but I do believe the promotion onboard is a really great deal.”

ETA:  To clarify, I have no idea whether they do or don't make commission on onboard reservations.  I assumed they don’t because of what I mentioned above.  I'm wonder if you are just assuming they do, or if you know they do.

True, but are they giving back $10/pp or $10/cabin?  I asked about the shipping charge on separate thread because I am not sure when a couple orders their Medallions to same address, we know they come in a single package, so is that one charge of $10 or two charges of $10?  The latter doesn't make sense.

They gave us a $10 per person credit.  This was our 1st cruise since they started using medallions, so I'm not sure what they charge if they ship them to the same address.

No local tax bought in UK, Southampton. Actually our folio showed a $10 credit and referred to the Plus package. Never did understand the credit but did not enquire.

Same here.  No additional taxes.  I asked at the front desk and was told they gave the $10 credit because they didn’t have to ship the medallion.

Can anyone confirm whether OBC can be used to purchase the Princess Plus package within the first two days once you are on board?

Yes it can definitely be used on the first day of the cruise. I used OBC to purchase Premier while onboard Sky Princeess in June 2023.  I don't know about day 2.

  5. @negn & @roxievegas Thank you both for confirming how the offers should work between my husband and I.  In our case, we need 2 rooms (family of 5) but glad to know we would both get our offers if we choose to do a parents-only cruise again.

@WoolworthAdventures any idea how they decide which partner gets the free cabin?  I joked with my husband and told him it is because he lost money and I won!

Does anyone know how do they calculate points when u are playing blackjack at a 3/2 table and/or how many hours of play at what bet level would likely result in some kind of casino offers?

I don't know how they calculate points, but maybe this will give you an idea.  My husband and I both played 3 card poker 12 out of 14 nights (Sky Princess June 2023).  We bet the table minimum ($5, I think) along with the Pair Plus and Bonus.  Occasionally we would play the Prime bonus.  Every night we each cashed in $200 at the table and played until the casino closed or we lost enough that it hurt.  This probably averaged 2-3 hrs/night.   On most nights one of us would win and one would lose, so as a couple we were breaking even.  (I consider that a WIN!)  By the end of the cruise, I won enough to cover hubby's losses plus $200.    Even though we cashed in the same amount of money and played the same amount of time w/ the same bets, our Come Back offers were different.  Hubby was offered a free interior cabin and $250 OBC.  I was offered $250 OBC.  Trying to book this offer has been a major pain!  The folks at the toll-free number can't find our offers.  There is another thread where others are having similar issues.

That is an awesome room!  We have D730 on the Sky this fall for a 15 day transatlantic. The mini suites were not much more but for us this cabin is perfect.  With the aft facing balconies there is minimal wind too, which can make the balcony much more comfortable when cruising at 20+ knots.

I had D730 on Sky last month cruising Norway & Iceland.  You will not be disappointed!  It was my first time in an aft facing balcony and I loved it!

Hi @TN-Mountains, sounds like you had a future cruise agent who dropped the ball.

I assume you were booking off the latest 50% off deals as the previous promo was for sailings leaving by the end of August.

I booked on the Sapphire, in early July, the Dec 1 LA to Santiago and the March 2024 Santiago to LA. The future cruise agent did inform me the 50% off promo is non refundable deposits ! Also if your sailing is not in final, they are supposed to ONLY take the $100 non refundable deposit and I was told FCD’s cannot be used! Was told this also when the promo was shared while I was on the Discovery in January when the applicable sailings were for any sailing till May. Again told no FCD combinability with 50% off promo when I was on Crown in May and sailings available extended till end of August.

Also plus pkg would price at 50% off @$30/day, but Premier would price at a discount but not at 50% off. Agent called shoreside and was told plus and premier are not supposed to be discounted. Read another post where passenger said there was a glitch and premier was adding the 18% gratuity to the 50% off rate, but my booking for solo, that was not the glitch.

I have see someone else post they were able to buy new FCD’s and apply so assume another example of inconsistency among the ships.

I was onboard in June and booked a Califonia Coast cruise for Dec 19-23.  The announcement said 50% off cruises sailing by August, but this particular December cruise was available for 50% off too.  Although my future cruise agent dropped the ball, I would still book with them again.  (Well, hopefully not HIM, but one of the other agents!)  Next time, I will sit there until the booking is complete so I can catch any errors on the spot.  Anyone in line is just gonna have to wait for me the same as I did for the folks in front of me.  It was very stressful finding a non-refundable, paid-in-full charge on my credit card with no way to "fix" the problem the night before disembarkation.  We stayed in England an extra night and by the time I got home I had Covid, so several more days passed before I felt well enough to email Princess.  My CVP originally canceled it and rebooked with just FCD but then said that half-off rate was only good if paid in full upon booking.  Fortunately, this was a "cheap" cruise so full payment was still under $800.  Good thing it wasn't $8000!

I was told the opposite of you.  I was told the FCD would be refundable until the final payment was due in Oct and that 4 of the 5 of us could get OBC by using the FCD.  (They can be used for all the passengers but the OBC is only for the first 2 in a cabin.)  What we got was one OBC in the half-off cabin and 3 OBC in the full-fare cabin.  Not sure the logic behind that but since hubby and I pay the bill for all 5 of us, I don't care which cabin gets credit.    Princess is definitely inconsistent!

Thanks for the advice. Is there a list of the 50% off cruises I can check? We are looking at Princess Standard, but if we can get 50% off Plus, that is worth it for us.

On my cruise, the 50% off deal was not available for American guests.  We were offered 50% off the standard fare of select cruises.  The upgrade to plus/premier was at the current $60 or $80 pppd.

Sure but if they were serious about doing it, @CruiserMickey brother could book two cabins, splitting with spouse/partner if necessary and add Mickey and spouse/partner as cabin mates and then swap names later or upon boarding.  Works I think as long as everyone was agree to Standard or Plus fare and Mickey pays his brother what he owes.

This is what we did last month.  Hubby and I were on the cruise and the kids were back home.  We booked 2 cabins with hubby in one and me in the other.  We split our kids between the two rooms. The kid in my room got the 1/2 off fare.  No one got the 1/2 off fare in the room with 3 because the 1/2 off deal is only good for double (& maybe solo) occupancy. Our kids have never cruised.  They generated Captain Circle numbers for them so we could purchase FCD in their names to use on the cruise.

A word of caution for @CruiserMickey, if your brother books your cruise while onboard make sure he double/triple checks everything.  The agent that helped us onboard Sky Princess got a lot of things wrong.  We confirmed we were purchasing 4 FCD which would be used for our deposits.  The cruise is in December so the final payment wouldn't be due until Oct and we could still cancel without penalty.  After discussing these details, giving him the kids' DOB and putting a hold on the cabins, the agent asked if he could process everything later and email us the confirmation.  I didn't see a problem with this because there were 3-4 people waiting in line behind us.  When I got the confirmation late that night I noticed he charged the full fare of one cabin to my credit card and it was listed as non-refundable.  He had my 10-year-old daughter listed as "adult"  instead of showing her age.  The pricing/deposit on the other cabin was as we discussed but one son's age was incorrect.   This was the last night of the cruise and the Future Cruise office was closed.  Fortunately, a CVP was able to correct my daughter's age.  She explained that the 1/2 off deals must be paid-in-full regardless of the final payment timeline for the itinerary.  It was a great deal and I would have purchased it anyway, but irritating for an agent to charge more to my credit card than we agreed especially when the terms went from refundable to non-refundable.

Thank you very much, this was really helpfull 👍 At this point there is no option for me to order bewerages in the app. Do you know if pre-cruise order of bottled water will be available closer to departure?

I don't know if it is available to purchase on the app.  Try logging into the Princess website.  From there, go to "my account" and find your next cruise.  Select "manage this booking".  From there click "Onboard Services"  and scroll down until you see "beverage packages".  Click "view options".  You should find "Stateroom bottled water package" at the bottom of the list.  Looks like it is $7.08 for 12 bottles (500ml).

    Hi 🙋‍♀️

I'm trying to figure out, if my 5yo child and I should get bewerage packages, but I can't seem to find single bewerage prices on Princess Cruises to compare. Does this type of overview exsist somewhere?

My child will mostly be drinking water (bottled) and milk, does the Soda package include this?

Greatful for any tip, thank you.

I can answer part of your questions....Natural Spring Water is $2.50 (500 ml) or $5.00 (1.5 lt) if you don't have a package.  If you want bottled water, the cheaper option is to order it pre-cruise and they'll deliver it to your cabin all at once.  Sodas are $2.50 for cans or $2.00 for fountain drinks.  I'm not positive about milk.    I think it is free at breakfast.  The only time we ordered it was with breakfast room service.  You can always order extra for later in the day and store it in your mini-fridge. The prices I listed were current on Sky Princess June 2023.

TNMountains You got on Sky when we got off and being the same offer ER5, it doesn't seem to show anywhere.  If you can get through to Arizona, there's a few people there who seem to be able to escalate it better than others.

Your offer may expire soon, so keep nagging to get this sorted.   I wasn't prepared to lose the $200pp paid or port taxes $220 and have to pay another $620 cancellation fee on top, so called every night to get this sorted out.  Alan has been amazing and having him on side seemed to help.

I must admit, if there were no fees to pay, I think I would have given up.

How do you get through to Arizona?  Do you keep calling the 800 number and escalating?   The cruise is only $250 pp, so I’m not sure I’m going to put much effort into this.  I do need to make a decision because we booked the cruise while on the ship to save our cabin and they booked them with the wrong ages on 2 kids.  My CVP cancelled/rebooked one cabin to fix my daughter’s age.  I didn’t want to ask her to update the my son’s age if we were going to cancel and book through the casino.  I’m afraid if I sit too long I’ll forget to get his aged corrected until it is too late or costs $$.

Your CVP doesn't want to work for free. They don't get credit for booking, so why would they?

I’m not suggesting anyone should work for free!  It seems half the folks on these boards say CVP can book casino rates and the other half suggest they can’t.  I was merely suggesting maybe some of us who are being told they can’t book the casino rates are speaking with the same CVP.  Same holds true for those saying they can book them.  Maybe there is one CVP who is booking casino rates to foster relationships with clients in hopes they come back and use them on cruises they purchase.  🙂

To see your offers: Go to princess.com, login, go to "my account", click the tab that says "my profile", then click on "circle savings/cruise credits", then click on "on board credits" and "view details". Any offers you have will show there. You will most likely have to do this for each of you since you have different offers. If nothing is there, you'll have to call 😞

If the offer is showing, do a cruise search with any pertinent details (what month, number of days, etc.) Click the green button "view xxx cruises". The applicable cruises will show up and indicate the amount you would pay for an inside. Click on the cruise you are interested in and continue booking where you will be shown pricing for all cabin types.

I hope this helps answer your question. I travel solo so don't know how the two different offers you have are handled and you may still have to call.

Thank you!  That is where I’ve been looking but I only see my FCD.  Same with my husbands account.  My husband asked the casino dept to escalate the issue, but I’ll not hold my breath.  The cruise we want is so cheap, it probably won’t be worth the headache.  Do you know if casino rates are allowed on cabins with 3 people?

That person was wrong & might be being lazy telling you that.... or unaware?

CVP CAN book bounceback/Come back & Play offers.

I wonder if @JGmf have the same CVP, because my CVP told me she couldn’t book casino offers.  She said I need to go through the casino dept.  I thought that weird since the invite has an offer code on it.

Received a paper offer on board Sky Princess on 3 June.  Free inside cabin + $250 freeplay.

Called Casino Dept (1 888 772 6997) several times to book and told offer code not recognisable.

Left it over 10 working days to contact again as requested.

Booked via phone on 3 July and paid port taxes of $220 by credit card for 2 Sep 2023 sailing.

It was my offer, but they incorrectly put my husband's name as lead when email received.

The invoice showed FULL balance payable on 4 July or cruise will be cancelled.

Called (casino dept) 5 July to ask that cruise is not cancelled as casino will pick up the fare and we just need to pay upgrade fee from inside to balcony.

Paid $200pp deposit which will be returned as OBC and they said it would be okay and a new email will follow.

6 July - cancellation of cruise email received and $500 cancellation fee is due.

I'm currently out of pocked by $620 on credit card and possibly a further $500 if cancelation fees are due and NO CRUISE.

I've tried calling but continually get through to Philipines who say it will take 10 working days to escalate - book by date expires on 28 July.

Any suggestions as to what to do now?

We were on Sky June 3rd and got this same offer.  My husband tried to book something today and was told this offer isn't in the system.  How did you finally get them "find" your offer?  Although after reading your story, maybe I'll skip the headache and just pay cash!  And for anyone else following this thread that mentioned booking casino rates online in the USA...how do you do this?  I don't see anywhere to put in a promo code and I don't see any discounted rates between mine and hubby's accounts.  He got the free cabin offer and I only got an OBC offer.

We are trying to decide between princess plus or princess premier packages and i wanted to find out if anyone has a list/bar menu of drinks that are above $15?  We are trying to figure out what drinks are not included in that $15 or less amount.  On NCL or RCL, $15 or less would pretty much cover everything with a few exceptions, but im not sure if princess adjusts their prices to put more drinks above that $15 mark

    thx

I posted some pictures of the drink menus in another thread.  These were the menus being used on Sky Princess last month.  As someone pointed out in that thread, either the menus haven't been updated to reflect that Plus now includes drinks up to $15, or the price of drinks hasn't been raised yet.  Read through that thread for more details on that.   I'll try to link to it here....

Yes but if you are willing to take fountain cokes they are included. Packages have not included cans if fountain is available for several years

It must vary amongst the ships.  I prefer fountain drinks and I had to specifically request a fountain drink when I ordered coke or half the time they would bring a can.  Both fountain & cans were available in Ocean Now and they didn’t charge for me for either.

Only slightly off topic, prior to our recent 12-day British Isles cruise I had done a lot of mental speculating on what we would probably drink, available OBC and price of Plus. Decided we would do better with a la Carte by about $200. Sitting in the bar on first day, logic and arithmetic is completely different 🙂 We went for the Plus, and I am sure we got value 🙂

    Same here! 😂

Can sodas are not included just fountain sodas

I thought that was the case too, but they included them on my cruise.  This photo shows where they deducted the price of a can of ginger ale.  The same was true for can coke when I ordered it.

I always book on embarkation day - they have a 10/20/30 special; 10% off first treatment, 20% off the second and 30% of subsequent treatments.  I book the 100 minute Swedish massage for that afternoon - its my favourite way to start off my cruise.

I found these to be true on my cruise on Sky Princess June 2023.  Discounts were also available if you dropped in for one of their complimentary 10 min neck massages.  I believe it was 10% off if you booked before you left.  They also had "Spa Tours" throughout the cruise where you could "win discounts".  They didn't really give a tour.  They put you in the waiting room (it has a fancier name, but I can't think of it 😉) and talked about the services they offer.  It was 5-10 minutes long and they drew for prices at the end.  I think there were 8 people in attendance and 5 winners.   I won $75 off a spa service, but it couldn't be used on existing bookings & had to be used on port days.

We did a couple's massage w/ hot stones which I loved.  We also did some type of couple's seaweed wrap massage which was ok.  They cover you in a seaweed goop; wrap you in foil for x minutes; you shower; they wrap you in a dry wrap; and follow with a massage.  I wouldn't want to do that by myself.  There is no way I could have gotten all that seaweed off my back without my husband's help. We skipped the dry wrap portion and opted for a longer massage.
