  1. This was at Port Canaveral. Others there had the same experience. Staff demanding tips before taking the luggage from your hands, no special boarding at all, no instructions on where to go once you boarded. Haven restaurant didn't even open until the day following boarding. Was a big disappointment to us and our neighbors. Filed a complaint with NCL & their entire response was "if there is a problem, please go to the customer service window on the ship." We decided that we are done with NCL. It used to be good, but has apparently gone way downhill.
  2. We just were there. We were very vocal and we’re told that we needed to go through the regular line. Afterward, we inquired about the escort and such and the lady at the Haven sign told us that we just had to walk on like everyone else. No escort. No orientation. Then we learned that the rooms aren’t available until 4PM and the Haven restaurant is closed the first day of the cruise. It sounds like they are phasing out the embarkation perks.
  3. We just did the Haven on the Getaway out of Canaveral. It was disappointing. Apparently, they did away with the special area and escorting at embarkment. When you identify as a Haven resident, you get put into a “priority” line that still requires standing an hour. No escort onto the ship. No orientation. Butler and luggage show up at about 10PM that night. At the ports of call, they will escort you off, but nothing beyond that point, and nothing when re-boarding the ship. The nice room is the real perk.
  4. It has apparently gone downhill recently. We just sailed the Getaway. No special area or greeting for embarking. Just a priority line they put you into. Our line was about 1hr of standing. No escort onto the ship. Luggage and butler shows up around 10PM on first day. Was disappointing.
  5. We are wondering if the Haven embarking process has completely changed, or is just different at each pier. We sailed the Getaway last month out of Port Canaveral. It was our first time trying the Haven. You went through the "priority" line, which was much slower-moving than the regular line, ended up at the same check-in desk as everyone else, & just getting our Haven room card was about a 2-hour standing process with the other Haven residents. No lounge or special waiting area. The only thing Haven-specific on the pier is a single NCL staff member with a small "Haven" sign at the ship boarding ramp that just points you up the same ramp everyone else goes up after you get your room card. No escorting onto the ship. No orientation whatsoever. We were really disappointed with the reality, compared to what was advertised with the Haven experience. Once on-board, you are on your own trying to figure out how to even get into the Haven area.
