Last night the wave starts to rolling. We went to hide and see wave pounding the window. The whole night we can feel the ship rock left and right . This am I go to have my coffee, due to strong wave, it knocks down plate, coffee pot and staff says it is the worst they have experience. I feel very bad for the server, they still have to clean, cook and serve. Head up to them and greatly appreciate all their hard work. The excursion on land will be sightseeing. Additional tours is expensive to start from 249. We decide to do the free tour. Overall it is wonderful tour and see so many wildlife. Especially the orcas attacked the humpback whale calf and group kill. The biologist on board say it is once in life time to observe the event even it is sad.

It is awesome to see humpback whale next to us and those excellent penguin diver. It is trip of life time. We went to Alaska and Hawaii and pay for whale watching but it has never been that up-close. They are right next to you within 15 feet. Every team member from excursion team to room steward, they are not only provide excellent service and genuinely happy to serve. It is the best cruise I have been . I book the China tour to take advantage 800 off plus on board 200 credit. 50 deposit and no payment till May. Even I cancel the cruise, I still have 150 ahead. What a deal.

The internet is ok but do not support Netflix, Disney plus. You can watch you tube though. I think it is almost most cruise line standard internet even with the premium plan. Today captain announce we have to return to Ushuaia day earlier to avoid the bad weather. Now they will try to arrange extra land tour in Ushuaia. It is disappointing but necessary for safety and comfort. We do have good weather for almost 10 days.

It is very long flight with stopover, you are looking at min 19 hours flight time if you not fly from west coast .900 guest fly from all over state and maybe from other country. I don't think viking will use charter flight , it is not like expedition cruise . We decide to book 10 days china classic on board to take advantage the benefits. Even with air deviation fee, the air cost 1399 is very good bargain. $50 deposit and no payment til May. We get $400 discount /pp plus $ 200 on board credit to use on our current cruise.

We stayed at intercontinental hotel. They won’t let you check in till 4 unless you want to upgrade , then pay extra to have available room. We deny offer and able to check in around 1:30 The ship IT post. We skip Cape Horn and return Ushuaia day early. I don’t know why

Yes. I sleep through the night and does not feel anything. It could be my patch put me down. Food in buffet is very limited but they are mostly good. Grill steak is spot on. I am looking forward all excursions activity

I hope there must be good reason like someone is sick, otherwise it will be disappointed. I am leaving for today and do the 15 days cruise too. What happen for the guest if ship arrive a day early as plan?

i see viking cruise has promotion on travelzoo top 20. it is from form vacation website with free on board credit too.

I actually change my policy to family annual trip policy which has 500k medical evacuation per individual per trip. When we went to Asia trip this pass March and my husband had allergic reaction with some food and end up in ER. The hopsital fee is so cheap and insurance reimburse us right away even with foreigner language on the bill. We travel extensively overseas, so higher coverage may serve us . We are doing count down to next Wed Antarctica trip which is my bucket list.😁 I will post how the trip going.

I have been the largest ship Symphony of the sea to the smallest viking river cruise. It really depends what you like to do. For food, it is no comparison, viking is always win IMHO, But for entertainment , viking does not have much. There are no casino in Viking which my hubby love and where we get all our free cruise. There are also free flight promotion from viking in some route. But for the price point, you pay for what you get. They do offer 100 /pp discount for pass guest .

I decide to upgrade my travel insurance to have 250k medical evacuation coverage. Things happen and hope never use it.

They require you to submit the insurance information when you fill in guest information form. They probably do not really check the coverage limit. Does anyone purchase the antarctica cruise with insurance which cover 250k medical evacuation fee ?

We have antarctica cruise coming this month. I just check the insurance requirement for medical emergency evacuation which has minimum $250k requirement. I have the coverage only up to 100k, does Viking actually check the coverage or do I need to purchase more coverage. Thanks
