  1. Pails in benefits to the newer classes.... not getting "free internet, coastal kitchen, a real suite sun deck, 24 hr lounge WITH free beer, wine, champane, soda, and water between 11AM and 11PM." It's not a comparison. Not even close. That little bitty suite loung with 3 hour "free" beverages doesn't cut it. Royal doesn't charge that much less on those classes for suites but offers much less. Just my opinion. Did suites 1x on Freedom class, nothing but Oasis+ since.
  2. I'd don't care to have the slips but I just wish RCL could actualy implement something consistantly. The only brand consistantcy is the logo on the ship.
  3. Hmm... Not on explorer. Shame it wasn't Oasis/Quantum. Basically a nicer room on any other class plus double points (which she won't get.) Really wish RCL would standardize on suite benefits across classes; even without Coastal.
  4. How quickly does RCCL stop offering comped cruises if you don't gamble? I'd like to take a comped cruise in Jan but don't intend to gamble until my April cruise. Will they stop sending offers?
  5. One more thing... one you do a suite you aren't going back. So don't justify this as a 1-time treat, it won't be. The cost to avoid WindJammer alone is worth it!
  6. Let's be honest; does anyone believe it wouldn't be complete chaos in a real emergency? I love the crews, they are always great, but in an emergency....
  7. Was speaking with an officer on Wonder about the soot issues on the suite deck. I mentioned we will be on Oasis Dec 2023. He said she is going into dry dock 2024; I said why? She was Amp'd late 2019. He said Oasis is having azipod issues but currently not impacting itineraries. I'm always question 2nd hand info.
  8. I don’t care. Quality of people coming out of NJ/NY makes for an unpleasant trip. Too often rude and overly aggressive. I won’t consider those sailings any longer.
  9. Yes. Been on her 3 times. It’s your standard Oasis-class (pre-Wonder) suite sun deck. Has a bar and dedicated restrooms. No hot tub like Symphony and Harmony. IMO, Allure has the best of the suite sun decks, hasn’t been ruined by water slides / steps going above the main seating area. In typical Royal fashion, the “gates” to the sun deck don’t work correctly and they haven’t been fixed in the last 18 months. Basically, anyone can get in without a key, and staff won’t eject non-suite paying customers. That’s the only negative to the Suite Sun Deck experience.
  10. Typically 3-4 business days. Sometimes I get the confirmation email, other times I do not. 1 time it didn’t post after 3 weeks. I contacted them again, and it was posted within 1 day (and not return communication)
  11. If it’s the same as last week; you won’t miss much. Probably our least favorite show. Was kind of disappointing. I didn’t realize you could book shows online prior to COVID. We always waited to have the suite concierge do it the week prior and never had an issue getting into anything.
  12. Prices are all over the place these deals; hard to tell if you are getting a good “deal” What is your target price per person, per day on a 7 day cruise on an Oasis Class Grand Suite? Our best was Oct on Allure. $257. I can’t find anything like that anymore.
  13. Looks like you had a great time, but your photos do not show the seating which is what I was originally reporting. I have photos of that lounger you are sitting on. It’s bad too. To be honest, I don’t think those photos someone else posted are of Wonder. I don’t want to represent Wonder as being anywhere near that bad. But spending Suite money for an amenity they advertise the heck out of and have it so dirty is a problem.
  14. This was my biggest concern. I didn’t allow the family to go there after seeing how bad it was. It wasn’t an isolated event At one point my wife handed her card to bar tender and a piece landed on her card! 🙂. Wiped it off with hand, then needed a wet towel to get it off hand. Lol. I raised this not because I think RCL can do anything (they can’t) but so people like us who book suites for the sun deck/coastal need to know they may want to avoid Wonder. The ship is superior in many ways to older oasis class but this is a massive issue (for us.)
  15. So all those soot stains are from the few hours at “full steam?” 🙂. Right. I do agree with you on the location. They created a really nice space and ruined it with the location. Even the lounge and coastal kitchen are impacted. Once nice views on older ships are replaced by sports deck views Check out this photo from the lounge. Looking through a net and backboard. Ugh. Meanwhile the old Suite Sun Deck is a complete waste of space. 😞
  16. I’m shocked. If you showed this photo to appropriate staff and they did nothing that is truely shameful. I don’t care what he was smoking, it is a safety issue and one they supposedly take seriously. All I can say is vote with your wallet.
  17. Omg. Wish I saw this post before spending $10k for a suite and not being able to use the sun deck. I just posted “Soot of the Seas”
  18. That’s actually funny. Knowing RCL they won’t actually acknowledge it. Especially since they can’t fix it. It’s an oily substance and it doesn’t come out. It’s such a shame because it’s a beautiful space otherwise - except it’s toxic. 🙂
  19. Wonder doesn’t pull slips at all. Even more inconsistency, suite sun deck was giving free drinks all day - no vouchers. Like 5-8 in lounge. Finally an inconsistency in guest favor! I’ll never understand how a company can be so ill run from a policy / consistency perspective. Makes you wonder what the execs are doing and how much better this product could actually be.
  20. Just a few samples. I have more I’ll dig out. You may need to zoom in. Keep in mind this ship is months old.
  21. Soot is a problem on any ship; the issue is where the stacks are relative to the Suite Sun Deck on Wonder. It’s 1 deck higher than older oasis ships and it’s right behind the stacks. I was in Anthem years ago and the top deck was covered in flakes. Our loft balcony on Wonder had traces of it but no big deal. The suite sun deck is horrible and has to be an issue given the premium experience they are going for. I didn’t complain because nothing to be done - design flaw. I just won’t go on her again in a suite. No issue going back in a cheap room as it’s a great ships. I have photos I’ll try to post so you get an idea.
  22. Just got off Wonder and stayed in a suite. The ship is beautiful and definitely improves on prior Oasis designs in many ways. Except… Suite experiences (in my opinion) The suite sun deck has a great layout with many great features; the biggest problem? Everything is covered in soot from the exhaust. The chairs look like they are 20 years old. You have to cover them with towels 100% to prevent the soot from getting on and staining your clothing. The hot tub/pool chairs are covered too with little pieces floating in the water. About halfway through the cruise we just stopped using the space because it’s just so dirty. We ruined a few pieces of clothing from particulate landing on it and leaving a greasy smudges. Also started thinking about how much we were inhaling while there. It’s a great concept, but I think RCL should tried to build out a similar area in the original Oasis-class suite sun deck area. I believe they are aware of the issue but there is nothing they can do. I would wager Utopia does not share this design - unless it has LNG propulsion like ICON. The odd thing… compared to other, older RCL ships Soot, I mean Wonder of the Seas puts out far less smoke in port.
  23. Now…. If the issue was someone is smoking weed in a designated area. Still an issue but not as bad. Medical or not, you don’t need families/kids/passengers getting high from 2nd hand smoke in public areas.
