  1. Where were you sailing at the time that you made your purchase in the onboard shop?
  2. If I understand correctly, passengers in Continent Suites receive one "free" bag of laundry service per suite per seven days. Discoverers receive one "free" bag of laundry service per stateroom per seven night voyage. If I am Discoverer and traveling in a Continent Suite on a 23 night voyage, followed by a 12 night voyage, how many "free" bags of laundry service does my suite get? Sorry, I know this sounds like an elementary school math problem 🤣
  3. This was my experience on Princess also. But from the other side. DH and I wanted to sail Ft. Lauderdale to Alaska. The cruise that we found from FLL was the last segment of a world cruise. The World Cruise ended in California, but the ship continued on to Alaska. In the MDR, we were seated with two women who were on the entire world cruse. Wonderful, I thought! This is my chance to learn about a world cruise! Wrong 🙁 Almost every dinner time was spent hearing about how unfair it was that the segment cruisers had received a "World Cruise" backpack and had been allowed into the World Cruise photo. We weren't in the photo, but we did receive a backpack (probably left over). It was not a pleasant cruise for us.
  4. Will you please tell us which mainstream mega ship and premium line you sailed on your two world cruises?
  5. After reading your post, I went to my account on Azamara and guess what? I couldn't find ANY points. Before the website "upgrade" I had enough (including one Azamara cruise) to be Discoverer - barely. In my case, every PUP counts. Also, one of my upcoming cruises is missing. I leave home for that Azamara cruise on April 30. I certainly hope that they get their act together well before that 😒
  6. Sorry to hear that the conditioner isn't great (I have long hair). It will be a long flight to Singapore with liquids spilling in my checked baggage. 🙁 I wonder whether I can buy good conditioner in Singapore? How would I even know whether the brands they sell there would be to my liking ?
  7. Does Azamara provide both shampoo and conditioner, or are they combined into one liquid?
  8. That seems really weird to me. I wouldn't be surprised if a waiter pushed certain foods (I have seen signs on restaurant kitchen doors "push" this or that) and assumed that the kitchen had prepared a large amount of these items. But to try to talk you out of ordering something?! Why do you think? Could it be that the kitchen was running low on that item? Do you have a late dining hour?
  9. And passengers are already paying a surcharge to eat in these restaurants? How much?
  10. Do you remember what excuses he gave you? Did he tell you the food would be too hot (hot pepper hot) or what? I've been looking forward to the Indian menu and would be disappointed to be talked out of it, or to learn that the food was too hot for my taste. I love Indian vegetarian food, but cannot eat it if it's too hot-pepper hot. (I wish that English had two words for hot, one for temperature and the other for Carolina Reaper. 🥵 )
  11. I get them here in Central Florida. You South Floridians must be foreigners 🤣
  12. If they think a kettle could start a fire, you won't be allowed to have one in your cabin. At every safety and lifeboat drill I've ever attended, they always say "Fire is the greatest hazard at sea".
  13. I'm sure Celebrity knows what's going on here and doesn't care that we share answers. I think their aim is to keep people engaged with Celebrity. Their marketing people probably already figured out that those of us who bother with the PUPs will think of Celebrity first when looking for a cruise.
  14. Can we just order hot water and/or tea from room service? Is room service available at no-extra-charge on HAL these days?
  15. What times are the evening shows on sea days?
  16. Thank you for posting, Robbie. You've brought back some memories. 😊
  17. How about on Quest? New cloth, non-clinging shower curtains or old style clingy ones? We have a B2B booked in May.
  18. Were the points from the Europe Webinar also credited to your Azamara accounts? (I'm still waiting for those 5 to be added into my total at Celebrity)
  19. You do not have to pay for plain water. It's free in the dining rooms, buffets and bars.(Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about the bars.) You can even drink it straight out of the tap in your cabin, although it might be a bit tepid. We always fill our reusable water bottles and keep them in the refrigerator.
  20. Crew appreciation is included in the early booking bonus "Have it All", as are the Elite Beverage Package, specialty dining, Premium wi-fi, and shore excursion credit.
  21. We have $475 of OBC for our upcoming HAL cruise. Since we've purchased the "Have it All" package, there's little we'd want to buy except shore excursions. It's been our habit (on other cruise lines) to book our shore excursions before sailing, so that we don't have to spend our precious cruise time standing in line at the shore excursions office and being disappointed that the excursions we want are sold out. Is there a work around to the HAL policy you mentioned?
  22. How does the Holland America Line Rewards Visa from Barclay work? I saw an add for it on the HAL website claiming that if I applied and was approved and then used it to spend $500 within the first 90 days, I would receive 15,000 points, a value of $150. Could I use those points to partially pay for an upcoming Holland America cruise, to book and pay for shore excursions, or to cover some onboard expenses? If yes, how? I have read the "Terms and Conditions", but not being an attorney, the information isn't clear to me. It appears that the points can be used "toward your next cruise purchase", but I don't understand how that works. I'd like to hear from someone who uses this card about how it has worked for you.
