  1. Date of Cruise: Dec 22, 2022 Ship: Edge Cabin #: 12130 Deck #: 12 Cabin Category: Deluxe Inside Stateroom Class 9 Cabin Location: Mid ship Bed Position: Middle of room Balcony Type: N/a Balcony/Window Size: N/a Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: N/a Balcony Overhang?: N/a Magic Carpet Issues?: N/a Noise Issues?: We were directly under the pool and lido deck so at times you could hear the DJ Wind Issues?: When out at see if they were at full steam this ship did rock quite a bit Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: N/a Suite Details: Layout was great and the bathroom was much larger than expected. Closet space was a little lacking but suitcases did fit under the bed. Loved the pullout tables. Large flat screen TV was nice and the stateroom had plenty of room so you didn't feel cramped. Advantages/Problems/Comments: Was good location to get around the ship. Just too close to the pool deck to get a little noise. Our stateroom attendant was amazing. He found out it was our anniversary and decorated the bed at turn down service with roses and towel swans. Would You Book It Again?: yes Photos or Photo Links:
  2. We were on Edge, not Apex so I made that mistake. Edge is the training ship for that class which is why the service will be hit and miss. We made friends with a few cruisers who are avid Celebrity fans (12+ a year) and they explained this to us as they knew all the staff and Edge has high turnover. They only would book suites on Edge so that they could gain access to Blue and Luminae. I will say the worst meal we had was on the Rooftop Grill when I saw so many reviews that the food there was amazing. Ours was tasteless and dry which was a disappointment. The view on the other hand was amazing as we did the early dining at sunset.
  3. American would not send us the bags and they fly direct to Cartagena which didn't make any sense. Instead they said they would reimburse up to $5000 in purchases to replace everything. So we were able to go shopping for new clothes and just waiting on the check now. In the end the baggage was returned to our house and left on the doorstep a few days till I could get someone to stop by and collect it.
  4. SO, I thought it would be nice to give everyone an update of my cruise and what happened since I was the one running late to Celebrity Apex. I did learn that if your boarding is at 1pm and the ship sails at 4pm you might want to be there prior to 2:30pm. My fiancé landed in Miami due to weather conditions after American cancelled her flight and left her stranded in Dallas to spend the night in the airport on standby. She landed at 2:45 and hired a taxi to head to Ft Lauderdale. My flight was with Delta and came through Atlanta and was on time so I was at the ship by 9am. I basically spoke with everyone at the pier and their hard stop was 3:30pm and I stood in the doorway to make sure they honored that. My fiancé pulled in at 3:27 and I think I had every high ranking worker there standing by my side cheering her on. The only issue was American misplaced her luggage and one bag was sitting in Phoenix and another was left in Dallas. That made for a fun first few days having to purchase everything to wear in the Apex gift shop until our first port which was 3 days later on Xmas day in Cartagena. On a side note I will say that service on Apex was less than I expected. I did meet a long time Celebrity cruiser and his explanation was that Apex is their training ship and service is a bit lacking unless you are in the suites. Our Stateroom attendant was the best ive ever had but the restaurants were more of a miss than hit except for Cosmopolitan. We never had an issue in there and Eden was more than I ever could have expected.
  5. Which cruise lines generally have the best wifi?
  6. Yes, she’s stuck in Dallas unfortunately and her flight lands the same time as our boarding. We are the last boarding group of the day already. We have both called Celebrity to see if the boat can be held but so far have not had a confirmation from anyone. I’ve talked with a few people on my flight heading to different cruise lines who are running into the same issue. Funny how we planned the red eye flights that left at 10pm the night before thinking we were getting to Ft Lauderdale at 6am would be plenty of time for a 2:00pm boarding.
  7. Does celebrity allow sailors who missed the boarding to still get on at the next port? American cancelled flights so she may not make our boarding time now. Looking for alternatives if she cannot make it.
  8. Side question. If you miss your sailing can you still get on at the 1st port?
  9. Not solo, traveling with my fiancé. So we should both have a checked back and a carryon of some sort. I did take 1 bottle of wine in each checked bag with Carnival earlier this year. This cruise was booked so last minute (2 days ago) and the prices have been a little steep for me so I did not take the all inclusive or the drinks package. Figured, if I'm taking on enough of my own wine then that shouldn't be an issue and can add the drinks package later at a prorated amount if I need it.
  10. Leaving on the 11 day Celebrity Edge Holiday cruise in 2 days. (Dec 22nd) Part of the trip will be cruising the Panama Canal. First question would be, are the Edge Cabanas worth the cost and would the sailing day in the Panama Canal be a good day to book one to have some good views? Thanks
  11. Can I put 2 in the checked bag and 2 in carry-on? And still carry a case of coke cans?
  12. Thank you, this is only me 2nd cruise ever and 1st with Celebrity so I do not know the rules. My first was with Carnival and they didnt let me bring on bottled water but I did see people walking in with cases of canned soda.
  13. First X cruise is in 2 days and im wondering the rules to bringing on board soda and drinks with you. Like RC and Carnival, I can have 2 bottles of wine in checked bags and can I take on the box of soda? Sorry for being a newb here.
