  1. Was notified yesterday through my TA that 5/12/24 was not doing Israel and final call of port would be announced on 11/15 so next week. Indicated Haifa was being moved to Athens.
  2. https://simpleflying.com/delta-air-lines-major-cuts-tel-aviv-september-2024/?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_campaign=Echobox-SF&utm_medium=Social-Distribution&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR0dTczPHpZLG1kQM6EGhQDFJ1m-Bx7BUcbWf0igJubik8At3nsTq6Q3lNw#Echobox=1698721590 I suspect with moves like this SB will have to adjust sooner..we are booked 5/12 out of Haifa. So sad for the people involved in this conflict!
  3. What is the best deck and room side or number for central sea terrace on Valiant lady. Looking at the med on this ship and being mid ship.
  4. Stayed in 528 on Ovation this past January…. Personally, I like deck five as it has lower amount of foot traffic through it. The balcony does not have full glass partition however it didn’t bother me at all. I have also stayed on deck 7 on Ovation and really found no difference in the room etc. if the savings is there I would not hesitate at all staying on deck five in a V1 again.
  5. I have been on VV once before and we are considering the Greek cruise this fall. Is it possible to upgrade/buy into the Rockstar access for the private pool and bar area? The thing I didn’t like about VV was the lack of drink packages and found the keeping tab ultra annoying.. thanks!
  6. I have watched the video and agree with your assessment. Mainly to try the line out I am not in the market (currently) to do an expedition maybe down the road. Thxs
  7. Hello. Considering the MS Fridtjof Nansen cruise from Vancouver to San Diego on 9/23. Would be first time on this line and ship. Considering the 2.5 days at sea is there enough to do on this ship with limited entertainment etc? I understand it’s more of a cruise to reposition the ship from north to south but also want to make sure there is enough to do while at sea. Also, I have never cruised on the pacific before and how does this boat handle seas in general? thank you!
  8. I asked this very question on the bridge tour on Ovation in Jan 2023. The officer explained that it’s all or nothing meaning they need to use Nordaq to keep everyone safe. If they take on water say from one port it can contaminate the entire system. Considering when I was on the boat it was the Caribbean I wouldn’t want to drink from any local water source. So I was happy to have Nordaq and know that it was used for not only drinking water but for cooking and washing. I found the sparkling/seltzer water to be good and the staff is good to provide lemon or lime to help if the taste isn’t great.
  9. I use vesselfinder.com and view the waves section. If you click on the specific ship you can see wave height etc. I recognize weather changes hourly but noticed the worst waves in the northern hemisphere was from Scotland to Iceland.
  10. Curious if the current Ovation sail is going as scheduled….noticed the seas from Scotland to Iceland look incredibly rough 😱
  11. no we are passing unable to secure enough time away from work/job 😞
  12. We were on ovation in late January of this year and had room 528. I thought it was actually just fine and thought the slightly larger balcony made up for the lack of all glass. You will hear some vibration of the anchor in the morning, but it wasn’t something that really bothered us too bad location wise. Some of the pros of deck five was easy access to the restaurant, laundry and we really enjoy the back deck on five with the pool and two hot tubs. Also because I think it has slightly less rooms than other decks, it’s quieter and less traffic. Last May on Ovation we had a room on deck seven so I had the same concern about being in a category one on deck five. Honestly, I would say the two rooms are a wash and in some cases feel like we got a better ride on deck five being lower on the ship. I wouldn’t hesitate staying on deck five again, especially if I can find a room midship! enjoy 🙂
  13. Oldest ship that needs updating ($$$)….also the up charge on these expedition ships is higher yield. Either way a pivot towards higher return on venture and soon to be pursuit. my humble opinion.
  14. I appreciate the advice and understand the weather humor 🙂 based on the cabin map on the ship I am hoping the price may drop a bit before proceeding with the cruise.
  15. Good Evening. My wife and I are considering this 11 night British Isle cruise on Ovation. Has anyone ever done this route before and care to weigh in on the pro and cons to this Cruise. This would be our third time on Ovation so we are familiar with the ship but more interested in port and possible weather in late May. thank you!
  16. Hi Ceepot, Based on the stairs and elevator location are I believe it is the the ship offices for the bridge. Basically a hallway of offices right behind the bridge. Last month we had a bridge tour on Ovation and we walked through that area. Pretty certain that is the space above 909. I wouldn’t imagine it to be loud my only though is this may have more movement as it is close to the front of the ship.
  17. Haha. For 129 I thought it was fair price for a break from the crowded pool
