  1. When I came back this afternoon, I had a gift waiting for me. As I've just received this, I've not had an opportunity to see if it's complete or if it maybe includes pieces that are no longer on the ship. According to this, complete collection is valued at $4.1 mlion. The first 2 pages have some interesting facts re HAL art and the basis for procurement. Enjoy!
  2. There are 2 spots (per the TV) for the excursion I am waitlisted on (there were zero when I checked this afternoon). Of course, GS cannot help and recommended I ask about swapping at my meeting location in the morning. Shore Exc Desk is open briefly in the morning, so I'll start there. They open at 7; Hawaiian Ambassadors Blessing is at 6:45am in Crow's Nest, so I'll go for that and scoot over to Shore Exc Desk. Fingers crossed 🤞 🙏
  3. Shortly into dinner Captain announced we were fully back to full power, no longer using generators. All seems to be fine - yay!
  4. My first time 🙃 I'm thinking so long as toilet decides to cooperate (currently it is not), water stays hot and I get fed semi-regularly I should be ok, but I there may be a learning curve
  5. 703pm Captain update: we have propulsion and steering and 2 generators are on line; he'll keep us posted. I was heading to dinner (late seating) and am hungry 🤔 this late in the game, I still go, right? In keeping with my Cruise of 1sts, this is my first Blackout at Sea...
  6. I have not found either to be an issue. Occasionally, we notice a random loud knock or similar noise. They're very infrequent and short-lived; some cruises we don't have them at all.
  7. 653pm ship time - power has gone off. Makes me want to check my Oncor App to find out how big the power outage is, lol. Captain making announcement saying partial outage. Ok to steer ship since we're in deep water (his words). Lots of laughter and 🚪 opening/closing.
  8. Hi, not smeecanada, but jumping in to share. I am PIF on an 815am excursion tomorrow and waitlisted on another, also at 815am. If the waitlisted one came through (not likely) I would get a message from HAL that I had cleared the waitlist & that excursion would be in my shopping cart. I'd have a small window to purchase it & cancel the other. You can see "waitlist" for the first excursion. I wasn't able to get them both in a single shot, but you can see they're for the same day/time. Hope that helps answer your question.
  9. Bon Voyage @jaycie622 Bon Voyage @Cat in my lap Bon Voyage @richwmn Bon Voyage @Cruising-along Bon Voyage @durangoscots Bon Voyage @cruising sister Bon Voyage @Kc52 Bon Voyage to anyone I left off!
  10. Shower fixed w/no follow up required. Have only heard the other noise problem 1x since discussing it here; although, others report of hearing it. Happily, nothing else needing to address. Oh and the "portable" soap dispener has not required a refill, so all is good on deck 4.😉
  11. Hey @0106 update on the App - the service request portion is not working. When you click on it, a box outlines the section, then it sits there; repeatedly tapping it does not get better results, lol. I haven't checked the "let us know" portion.
  12. I haven't noticed that there is, but will check. I would think there would certainly be one on 7. I'll get back to you w/a picture. 😊
  13. I will try to remember to post them. I think this Captain does a nice job w/his announcements - informative yet short 😏
  14. Probably since there is an elevator. On some ships, there's no elevator to it, so the only way to access it is from the stairs at the Retreat area. Definitely room for a scooter as it's a large space. Just note, it is very windy up there.
  15. Captain says we're 185 NM from HI and waves have been measured at 14' and still expected to get larger. We're on schedule to dock at 7am. He reports there will be no volcanic 🌋 cruising as there is no flow or activity to see 🙄 👀, so we'll take a shorter route and get 2 extra hours in Hilo (1 before, 1 after). Captain says the birds🦤 we've been seeing circling our ship are red footed boobies that can travel out 300NM from land. That's it for today's update and means it's lunchtime. 😏
  16. Thanks, me 2! Blessed to secure the best seat in the room. It's sandwiched between a corner and a shelf, so somewhat of a private spot.
  17. Thanks for sharing - Aft cabins are my happy place.
  18. Thanks for sharing - glad to hear you enjoyed the ship and the cruise. And that you would come back 😉
  19. K'dam definitely has the 14th deck, frequently referred to as the "secret" deck since it does not appear on many deck plans. There is a button for it if you're in the correct elevator. I will post pictures later once I've made my way you there (currently sailing on K'dam).
  20. After digesting the feedback you've received and doing your due diligence, go with your gut; rarely will your gut lead you astray. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise! And please update us on the outcome - enquiring minds want to know...😉
