  1. Looks like the bridge over Lake Pontchartrain - longest bridge in Louisiana, lol
  2. We had that once on our balcony; it wasn't pretty but didn't interfere with balcony space as it was at the end. I might have felt differently had it been in the middle, but other than adjusting some shots to be sure we didn't capture it in pictures, it didn't bother us. We would have been sad to miss out on that Neptune wrap suite for the week.
  3. Maybe they meant to mark out that Costa logo and replace it w/Carnival funnel. Could be cause of any slow crew responses - they gotta go find the Costa crew and bring them back on board.
  4. @Liskap room service will make substitutions so long as what you want is available. You might reach out to the accessibility department and see if they can answer your questions. Enjoy your cruise!
  5. My husband really enjoyed the salmon bake - I had the chicken. There was time to explore on your own and the area was really pretty - waterfalls and an old mine.
  6. I can't comment on the Tracy Arm Fjord excursion as our visit to TAF was canceled due to ice, but I would jump on it if it was available. I understand they sell out quickly. As for doing a 2nd excursion same day in Juneau, you would likely have time if you find a late day start, which there usually are. The Mt Roberts Tramway runs all day, so you would be able to go up there and enjoy the view and hiking trails. There are also evening whale watching excursions. If you can grab a rental for the evening (we've gotten one for earlier in the day & don't know if they're available for later or not) you can venture out on your own - there is a lot to see. The rental pick up is very close to the pier. Enjoy your cruise!
  7. Any amount after deducting the penalty moved to another booking I would think is better than forfeiting all of it. Enjoy the wedding!
  8. @HappyInVan thanks for the beautiful pictures.
  9. I love our country!! Blessed that we can have pronunciation emergencies and appreciate that @washiotter cares enough to ask.
  10. @Denise T DH and sister love Annabelle's for lunch. It was recommended a few years ago by a local in Ketchikan; they try to eat there every time we go to AK. I don't eat seafood, but there's plenty of other great options. Easy walk from the pier - take your appetite.
  11. 1st cruise - Very early 90's Carnival Holiday (had adults only topless deck) Christmas/NY to Caribbean/Yucatan Penninsula 1st HAL cruise - 2018 Eurodam to Alaska Thanks for the memories!
  12. @BermudaBound2014 yep, the updated response is better πŸ™ƒ given OP stated they were buying it themselves. And, yes, @2ferfun, the OBC you're purchasing can be used for gratuities. Any amount not used will be refunded to the CC you have on file for the cruise or you can take it in cash. Enjoy your cruise!!
  13. Have only booked aft corner Neptune. We loved the corner wraparound balcony so much I really couldn't tell you many details about the cabin itself other than DH loved the coffee pot. Prefer deck 4 to have the extra space on the side so we can truly enjoy the best views. Enjoy your cruise!
  14. Only time I've been in an obstructed view, the cabin itself was just like other cabins of same type We looked directly into a lifeboat and it was strange, but the natural light coming was great. We didn't have time to even consider how we would ultimately feel about it as we got upgraded and moved to another cabin. Took us no time to grab our bags and run to Guest Services for our new keys. πŸ₯³ Enjoy your cruise and please let us know the outcome.
  15. We haven't booked them, but they do show on FE pages.
  16. Good thing there are so many cabins on a ship - usually enough to accommodate all our different preferences πŸ™ƒ
  17. Congrats on securing a large free cabin. Enjoy your cruise!
  18. You can fill out most of the items under Check In without waiting til you are close to departure - one of the tabs will be for your flight details. Enjoy your cruise!
  19. Ugh - of course my reaction may be a bit of sour πŸ‡
  20. Ketchikan - the guided self-drive ATV. It travels abandoned logging trails and is great for rainy days (as Ketchikan tends to be). Scenery is awesome. The other excursions mentioned by others are fabulous and make me want to go back. Was just there in May!!
  21. Congrats! Those are the best views and great balconies since the wind is considerably less than the sides.
  22. Chocolate espresso martini. 🍸 Explorations makes the best ones. And they're purty πŸ₯³
  23. 7-day is usually $149, so that's about right. And paying $99 to upgrade is a good deal if you use it. I personally live in there, so I maximize my investment, lol.
  24. Yes Elite covers up to $15 per drink; Signature covers to $11. Remember you can go over and just pay the difference and the 18%. HAL does have fresh squeezed juices. If specialty dining isn't showing yet, just keep checking back. Poke around in the threads and ask questions - you'll learn so much that will enhance your cruise. IMO. Welcome to HAL!!
