  1. You will have the option of getting off just to clear customs then get right back on or spending time in port, returning at your leisure (just be mindful of All Aboard). If you decide to spend time in port, be sure you get your new key card early in the morning (I get mine before breakfast) and take it along with your In Transit card and passport. You will be given instructions on where to meet for Turnaround Day - please be sure no matter what you decide to do in regards to time in port, that you show up on time for that meeting. They can't do anything w/B2B passengers until they've accounted for all In Transit passengers. Every time it seems there's a manhunt for stragglers. 🙂
  2. Yes you can transfer to TA within 30 days of when you booked it. Your TA can complete the form and send it to you to sign and submit or you can fill it out yourself. They can't submit it for you and it has to be signed by you before submitting; HAL will not accept electronic signature. If I was responding via computer (rather than phone) I'd send you the form. Let me know if you want the form and I'll send it when I'm on my computer.
  3. We were on Eurodam April 29 - May 6 Seattle round-trip- Port Valet was offered and worked flawlessly. Flew Alaska air DFW.
  4. Same experience as others here and as recently as this month (May 6) on Eurodam - can be used for daily gratuities. Agree w/Kazu to check statement a couple days in and you'll likely see the non refundable amount decreasing by the amount of the gratuities. Enjoy your trip!
  5. No menus - this was 7 day Seattle round-trip April 29 - May 6. I broke them out in my live review; don't have that handy, but you can get the attire by looking at these programs. Enjoy your trip!!
  6. You should be able to do that since there are no special rates tied to either cabin.
  7. We had this same scenario Nieuw Amsterdam B2B Feb '23 and Koningsdam B2B Nov/Dec '22. Both times we had to book 1 cabin each using the person who had the offer as Guest 1 to get the rate. Then once onboard, just go to Guest Services and tell them you want to swap cabins (who you want in which cabin). They'll fix it on the spot and give new keys. Both times, they told us "we don't care who sleeps where, but we need accurate names per cabin for proper billing." We tried at time of booking to do do it differently as well as call in after booking to get it changed, but they wouldn't do it b/c the rate offers are tied to Mariner number.
  8. The option to cancel with refund had a deadline before the cabin assignments were made. Why would I cancel before I knew what cabin they were giving me?
  9. We did B2B on Koningsdam in San Diego Nov 26 - Dec 10 2022 w/a cabin change. Cabin stewards will move all your stuff and even pack it; although, I prefer to do that myself and let them move it. You do need to do the safe, of course, since they can't get in it. Just tell them if you have anything in the fridge that needs to move and they'll move it. When you leave for breakfast, let them know so they know they can pack/move your stuff. We picked up our new card before breakfast on turnaround day (they're open 24/7 so no issues getting a key at 6am) - your old one will be scanned for you to leave and new one will be scanned to get back on. You can probably get your new card when you get back, but this makes for smoothest transition. We do this for all B2B when we change cabins. You will have the option of doing the "kindergarten walk" (all in transit passengers meet, line up single file (lol) and get off, go through customs & get back on together) or getting off and reboarding later on your own. If you do the latter, you'll need the "in transit" card you got and your new key card. Very easy peasy.
  10. Thanks for doing this. I do keep every HAL deck plan on my phone and find myself referencing on every cruise, so this will be a nice replacement.
  11. Agree - we did that on Nieuw Amsterdam in Feb w/no issues. Just went straight to Guest Services as soon as we boarded.
  12. That's what Dr Will (Kirby) who won season 2 Big Brother did - removes tattoos.
  13. Or grab a margarita and look for hidden duck. Want to see that picture - surely it won't be a plain yellow 🐤🦆...
  14. Appreciate your response and glad you were able to get yours corrected. We started calling as soon as we received the "ship swap" notice to proactively make note of our desire for the same cabin and see if we would luck into getting it assigned early, but a couple hours and several call transfers got us nowhere. So we started calling again as soon as we received the assignments - both were changed, both downgraded. Hours on hold, being passed around and yelled at once, we were not successful in getting either cabin reinstated or OBC in lieu of. We continue to check weekly to see if original cabin type opens up, but so far only been able to get 1; and it cost us $60 to do that! What we don't understand, us Venezia is bigger than the Magic, so all the original cabins should have been an easy swap - cabin for cabin - then they make the remaining cabins available for booking.
  15. This month, walked into a ring around half the tub. One wipe w/dry tissue (did not scrub, just wiped) and it came right off Mentioned it to cabin stewards when he brought one of our bags. His response "I haven't sanitized yet." Uh, basic cleaning has little to do with the separate sanitizing process. By end of day, after we got our final suitcase, the ring was gone. Yuk...
  16. Agree. I've posted numerous times about my dissatisfaction w/my PCC; this just adds to the very long list. And a tad at HAL itself for not sending me the email; different story if it was booked w/TA. Grrrr...
  17. Thanks, All. Also frustrating that I was told no when I asked if they would send me a copy of the notice. Was told it was sent to my PCC and I needed to contact her. Had we known it was canceled while onboard a couple weeks ago, we would have asked the FCC about it and rebooked that way.
  18. @shof515 appreciate the response - different cabin type but exact same scenario- our cabin was downgraded with no compensation, not even OBC. I'm sure the ship will be lovely, but not getting what you pay for sure doesn't sit well (we PIF more than 18 mos before sail date). Thanks to everyone for letting me go off topic...
  19. @Crusin Karen when they moved you from Magic to Venezia, did you get your same cabin? We were also booked on the Magic and got swapped to Venezia, couple months after your trip. We're happy to be on the "new" ship, but not only we were not given the same cabins as we had booked on Magic; we were downgraded. Curious what happened to 9thers who were swapped from Magic.
  20. We were on 9 aft on a diff Carnival ship - the entire balcony was covered. While it did make it more pleasant in the Caribbean, it was very loud non-stop chairs scraping/banging from above. Very annoying. We booked on 7 on Venezia to avoid that.
  21. @AnitaVacation what is the cabin number, if I may ask? We keep looking at those aft cabins but can't really figure out what's going on with the balconies. Phone call to Carnival for info got me nowhere.
  22. On a Princess ship a few years ago that had an active Noro outbreak. They did a deep clean as well as continuous cleaning of hard surfaces in all common areas (foamy liquid from buckets). Salt, pepper, sugar, butter removed from all tables - buffet and MDR. If you wanted S/P/Sugar/Creamer/Butter... servers would sprinkle/add it for you. Very strange to have someone put milk and sugar in my coffee and butter a roll... Zero self serve anywhere. Announcements were frequently made and signs posted EVERYWHERE reminding to wash hands frequently, to minimize touching things and to use stateroom restrooms instead of public ones when possible. We managed to avoid getting it, but there were a lot of sick passengers.
  23. Last month (April 2023) booked Eurodam for AK next fall Sept 21-28 2024 for our 35th anniversary using HAL PCC, even told PCC it's for anniversary and asked her to put it in the notes. Saw it in Navigator earlier this month while in AK on a cruise, but noticed since I returned that it was no longer there. It is in my upcoming bookings on HAL website so I figured it was a glitch. Today, still not seeing it in Navigator but seeing it on the website I called HAL. Was told that cruise is canceled and they haven't removed it from my profile b/c they're waiting for me to let them know how I want to handle the deposit. Said my PCC was notified on April 20!! That was before the trip we recently took. The only AK sailing for Eurodam Sept 2024 is the 7th-14th; shows higher price than I had on the canceled one, but my cabin is available. So, questions are: 1) if anyone received notice of the cancelation, will you share it? 2) Since my cabin shows available for the 7-14 trip, can I get them to give it to me for what I had on the 21-28 now canceled trip? So frustrating and yet another example of how my PCC has failed in providing service. IMHO not the way to treat any passenger and especially 4* who's trying to stay loyal. Happy Anniversary - Ugh...
  24. I've had this similar experience and reaction on recent cruises. I have also seen more people (or maybe I'm just more aware) tipping each night in MDR. At the start of a cruise, seems it would set tone of great service = extra $$. But getting different servers, perhaps it's the way to reward great service as it's received w/o potentially missing those servers if only tipping at end of week. I may start tipping as I receive service that warrants additional tips and eliminate the one payment at the end of the cruise.
