Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We went in August and had a confirmed 5:30 traditional time and when we got on board, they changed us to my time dining. Was told the on shore people overbook all the time and not their problem. I prefer same time same table every night and had to wait in long lines. We ended up eating buffet all but two nights which was ok but ruined some of the normal experience. We went on Norwegian in June and I thought I would hate their freestyle dining but we were able to get seated quickly every night and enjoyed it. Overall, we still prefer Royal but if they screw it up on our cruise next July, we will switch to NCL.
  2. I always think it is worth it. Compared to drinking at home, it is expensive. Compared to buying by the drink on the ship, it is cheap. We drink a lot of bottled water, energy drinks , premium teas and coffees and mock tails and hate being limited. We always go with the refreshment package which includes everything nonalcoholic. I watch people drinking the free lemonade and iced tea and trying to stir them up and think how much I would hate that. Each to their own but if you you spend the money to cruise, you should enjoy it fully. Just for info, I am very cheap ( frugal) but drink packages is not the place I skimp.
  3. That’s what I was expecting but for our cruise it is showing $77.99 pp which is higher than it was a couple weeks ago.
  4. A little more extra than I want to spend. I like the mock tails and my spouse drinks so don’t want to downgrade. More just curious about the waters. 😁
  5. Honestly, I have no issue haggling anywhere including here in the States. There are places it is expected and places it is not, In most of those countries, it is not only expected, it is a way of life. It comes down to what you want to pay and what they are willing to sell it for. Most of those vendors are very good at what they do and they are are great at working the crowd. If they are below a profit point, they are not afraid to say no.
  6. Thanks, that is one thing I am planning but hoping that they have some flavored sparkling waters too. We are going on Encore to Alaska in June and this is our first time to Alaska and first time on Norwegian. We have done a few on Royal and one on Celebrity and their packages include bottled waters of all kinds so I am trying to figure out what is offered on NCL. 😁
  7. I have the Free at Sea open Bar package and am looking at drink options. I saw a couple of old post that NCL offers the bubly brand of flavored sparkling water. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true and are they included in the Free at Sea Open Bar package. Also, I do not drink soda or alcohol so any other recommendations for non-alcoholic drink options free with the package.
