  1. That was probably because of the late booking.
  2. If passenger 1 had FAS+ passenger 2 must also have FAS+ as I understand it. So what you assumed would not have been an option. That's why I think this somehow messed things up. But still don't understand how come they couldn't see that...
  3. It may have been printed ahead of time, before things got messed up. I don't know! But I do find it odd that they have such a bad system onboard that they can't track changes made! That is BAD!
  4. I suspect what happened had to do with the addition the other person. That person should have had (and of course paid for) FAS+ as well, or neither of you would. You say it was last minute, but not HOW last minute. Your original keycard may have had the original extras because it had already been printed and the addition of guest 2 somehow messed things up. I don't think the first CS person removed anything. I think things were messed up from the start. Just speculation of course.
  5. Have you recieved your dinner confirmation email yet? No issues booking for 1 for me, but the confiramtion show 6 or 8 people for the MDR bookings.
  6. I worry very little about what other people are wearing and I don't see why long pants or "dressy" shorts really matter in a sit down restaurant. Women can be half naked but heaven forbid the lower part of a man's leg is to be seen! Personally I'm far more bugged by elderly gentlemen strolling around in their pyjama shorts and tank tops in the buffet breakfast on sea days. Guys, you're not in the privacy of your home, among your family! To say I lose my appetite would be wrong (not much get in the way of my appetite), but it's not nice!
  7. Oh dear! After reading posts here I had to check my dining confirmation for the main dining rooms. Turns out I have two bookings for 6 and one for 8. I clicked 1 (one) person for all three... 😮😁
  8. Yes. Great that the prices given for each person!
  9. I agree! But I still think this is an improvement. The fact that the app had shown the discounted price and the website the full price has been very confusing for many newcomers.
  10. This is an improvement in my opinion. Price before and after discount should lead to less misunderstandings. Although I see that they still don't play nice with €. Amounts in screenshot are the € amounts, not $. I consider the app some sort of Alpha/Beta version with quite a few bugs to fix
  11. I'm in Europe so it might be different than USA, but I have had refunds after I have paid in full and then done something that made price go down.
  12. That doesn't make it an excursion! They sell the port shuttle tickets as well, but they still aren't excursions, entitling you to the $50 discount.
  13. It sure looks like a work in progress! Navigation is not as straightforward as it could be, and sometimes a little "backwards" compared to "Android standard". I do miss seeing my Latitude number and points total right away. No big deal though. I do however like that the reservation number is easily visible! I was hoping for an option to cancel things. Maybe it will come in time.
  14. Yes. I have both on my phone and go between them
  15. I'm amazed at the number of US people that don't have passports and yet want to travel! Yes, I know you can go to lots of places without one, but for heaven's sake...
  16. I have now explored a little! I have to admit that I'm not always great with change of user interfaces and similar. It takes time for me! Having said that I have noticed some things I do like when looking at my September cruise: My payments are listed in the app! I like that since I don't get confirmation after each payment for some reason ( I keep good records myself so haven't worried about it, but still like this!) I'm not crazy about the overall look (but that's probably just me not handling change very well), but I do like that the itinerary is well presented on a day by day basis with both arrival and departure time clearly stated. I do hope this will be updated if there are any changes during the cruise!
  17. Wow! Thanks for letting us know! I downloaded and installed it and now I will explore! 😄
  18. European chat works very well. Calling though is not great most of the time. I don't know if the people work from home or whatever, but sound quality had been horrible on the few occasions I have tried. And they do not take into account that they are serving lots of countries and English not being people's first language. Those two in combination, not brilliant!
  19. I certainly hope so! You didn't book the regular balcony, they gave it to you. You booked a solo, including lounge access. Please come back here for an update once you know! My daughter is in the same situation for a cruise in late November.
  20. For balcony and above, yes. But that one is always running!
  21. Current promo ends Sept 5. The next will follow it.
  22. I don't want to hijack the thread, but I felt I needed to thank you for saying this! I sometimes feel silly for checking my reservations so often. And maybe I am. But I'm glad I'm not the only one! (Right now I'm keeping a close eye on a room I got assigned as a guarantee. I got an awesome room and would hate to lose it!) Now let's go back to OP's sad situation.
  23. This was not nice to read! I am sorry you had this happen to you but I can't help but wonder if this couldn't have been discovered a lot earlier by you. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely NCLs fault. But personally I always make sure to check out my rooms on the deck plan and also try to find reviews. Not always successfully though, but I try... And after reading this I will keep doing it! You certainly deserve much better treatment than what you got so far. Fingers crossed something good will happen even if it's not looking like that right now.
  24. To increase confusion (or convenience?) further, it may also depend on the cruise director. I sailed Star twice, about 2 months apart, and routine was not the same both times! Similar, but not quite the same!
  25. It's not the same on all ships so the best thing is to ask at the shore excursion desk after boarding. It will also be in the daily information paper. You usually do not need to go and get actual tickets if you are Gold or above. Some ships you just head down to the exit. On other ships you go somewhere and get escorted down. But, as I said, check with the shore excursion people once onboard to be extra sure!
