  1. Probably the only place that might be hit or miss on the dress code I'm guessing is Ocean Blue and Le Bistro. I have a reservation at Cagney's on the second day and Le Bistro on the third. Reading some posts, Cagney's seems to be more lax on the dress code where as Le Bistro and Ocean Blue are hit or miss.
  2. I hope there isn't a dress code for the Haven restaurant as I plan to probably eat there the first night. I'll have my shorts, maybe a button down or a t-shirt, and my boat shoes.
  3. @mking8288 Thanks so much for the pictures. So basically above me is probably a crew area that is non-public space which starts the OL. This is so helpful! Thanks all for chiming in as well!
  4. Hi again, Can anyone tell me what is above the room in 14176 on the Joy? It looks to be a open area. Is that the Observation Lounge? Now I'm wondering if there will be heavy foot traffic noise from above.
  5. Question on using the concierge, whether be land or sea. For Haven guests, I understand we can start booking show reservations 25 days from sailing. Is it easier to book through the concierge for this? Prior to my Haven upgrade, I was in a Club Balcony Suite and I booked all my dining reservations online or through the App. Wanted to see if it would be easier through concierge or using the actual site or App to book. Also does anyone know what the showtimes are for evenings of Footloose and Elements? I'm cruising in July with my wife and wanted to make sure we get entertainment reservations in.
  6. @Sthrngary, another question on the tipping part. For your bartender or steward, how would you normally approach giving them the tip? Last time I cruised was at least 4 years ago and I tipped my steward on the last day just handing him the cash like I'm doing a drug deal, lmao. I'm curious, do you try to get an envelope at guest services and provide it to them in there? Also question on the Go-Karts/Laser Tag. You mentioned we can ask the concierge to reserve spots in advance, are they strict with the times that you provide? Like if you were maybe 10-15 minutes late or something. I noticed there was a separate line for Haven/Ultimate pass holders on Go-Kart, if we don't have a reservation, is the wait long? And is it less crowded at night because kids aren't allowed on?
  7. So the July showings of Footloose will be not showing from reading that. Any idea what the replacements will be?
  8. Thanks for the well thought out reply. Myself and my wife are normally the type of people to do things ourselves so I may not utilize the butler services as much as I should. I upgraded to the Haven mainly for the private areas so my wife can have a relaxing vacation without having to wrestle a freaking lounge chair if she decided she wanted to chill on the sun deck. I myself am a generous tipper and after reading the threads, yes I skimmed through them, it seems like general rule of thumb would be from $10-20 per day for butler and $5-10 per day for Steward which is fair to me. I'm normally the tip at the end of the cruise type thing, but I appreciate all the input on this.
  9. I just upgraded my cabin room and i originally had the unlimited open bar on it. Myself and my wife are not big drinkers and I already had some OBC to spend. On a 7 day cruise, this would save me $300 bucks on services charges so i went ahead and removed it.
  10. Suggestion is to book them now if you're within the 120 days or less window.
  11. Hi Gary, been reading this thread since I was on the fence on upgrading to a Haven suite and I finally did it after reading your reviews of the Haven on the Joy. Tried messaging you a question privately but wouldn't let me. I was wondering what is considered a generous and fair tip for your butler, bartender, and steward? The last time I cruised was almost 4 years ago so everything has changed.
  12. Looks like I'm staying in 14176! I just straight up paid for the upgrade. I was originally on the fence and waited too long so HJ, the lowest Haven suite was all sold out, so the next one up which only had literally 4 left. It seems everyone is just upgrading to Haven because of the price drops as it inches closer to sailing. A few days ago the same room was literally a couple of hundred bucks more. Big difference. Thanks all who chimed in.!
  13. That is nice to hear especially since that is literally on the opposite side. I'm guessing its because the floors above and below are all cabins so the only traffic would be people going back to their rooms or waiting for the elevator. So you don't even hear the chimes of the elevator?
  14. Around cabin 14780. Currently I have a nice room at 11866, but if upgrading that would be the room available. Was wondering if anyone stayed here or near this vicinity to comment on this. Thanks in advance CCer's!
  15. Thanks! This is very helpful. The difference between my MB and the lowest Haven is about $2200 and change. Its definitely been going done, but also it seems to be selling out quick as it approaches the sail date. The next up available one is $2400 and change. I've put the lowest minimum "fair" bid on both so hopefully I get it but as the sail date inches near and if the price drops more, I might just straight out do an upgrade over the phone.
  16. hi. what would be considered a reasonable or good discounted upgrade from a club balcony suite (Joy) to a Haven cabin? and when is it considered too much? It seems the prices are slowly dropping nearing sailing, so curious what's a good bid or too much at this point.
