The vibe, while it is a crap shoot, I just dont see use NOT getting it IF the ship has it.. Not that it was horrible to get a drink normally, even busy times IF you didnt mind looking for that "sweet spot" that wasnt busy.. The vibe... just cant say enough lol.. After we do an interior (yes we are wanting to try that) that will tell us for sure if that "economical" is for us or if we would at least need a balcony.. Or we'll start interior and just see if we get lucky on an upgrade offer.. /shrug lol..

We (I) went overboard because I wanted my wife to have the most options to her.. But afterwards, she's like I'd be fine in a small room and deal with the transporter tube shower to be able to spend lots less money.. Her fun was watching "Live TV" as she called it.. She would find a nice comfortable chair in the atrium, get her drink and just... watch the trivia or game shows, or contests, or music, or.... whatever.. She 100% thoroughly enjoyed herself doing that lol.. Granted we did get to watch the bonus deal or no deal where a 10 year old boy and his grandma cleared the board and won $1000.. The place went crazy!

Our room was always serviced, and I felt sorry for Michael, as I'm an early bird, my wife isnt. So there were days when you know he was just wishing the room would empty lol.. We saw him a couple of times, and it was fine.. I wasnt expecting anything crazy out of housekeeping, and it was fine.. Nothing exceptional, nothing bad at all. Only complaint was we did ask for extra towels and got them, but maybe he thought we just wanted extras THAT DAY because the next day was back to normal amounts.. We suffered thru it though. We were spa club balcony and took me days to realize we had a container of water and a bottle of something that was "ours" had no price tag on it lol.. left the bottle, took the water.. Got little desserts one day and cookies another.. Cookies were hard to come by on the ship lol.

For our first cruise we did a spa club balcony, with vibe pass, did the upgrade for the unllimited inet / extra dining / p+ beverage package. We also planned on spending 99.9% of the time on the ship. Out of all of those things probably the only thing I would do again, is the vibe.. I did really enjoy that when available (of course that's the chance you take) Not saying others would not enjoy the other stuff, but for us, I went to the spa 1 time, it was nice, but just dont think we'd ever use it. Wife never stepped foot into it. As far as the prem plus beverage. Again, others may find that a great value, and I had planned on "experiencing" some "higher end" spirits.. Nope, I found out that I just really, really like my long island iced teas.. They make me happy lol.. The specialty dining, we actually left with one credit unused. Was super disappointed in teppenyaki and also moderno. Cagneys though.. LOVED it. At teppenyaki, somehow the food was just bland.. we watched them put like butter and soy sauce and other stuff on the chicken and steak.. But when it came time.. 😞 Moderno, all the meats just seemed dried out and just not good. Salad bar was nice though. The filet and the special Brazilian meat was good. So on our next cruise, we are focusing on more minimal and just taking advantage of what is included with the FAS and complimentary dining. Except the unlimited internet, I will get that as I like to post way too much stuff lol. Why did I make this post? No clue, just wanted to share how we really enjoyed our first cruise, but dont need all that "stuff" to enjoy it.. What are your thoughts on "going cheap"?

Only going by the information given out lol.. 🙂 Bummer me out because I was looking forward to an empty ship haha. Good news is that going that slow the vibe was open and WONDERFUL to have as the day before they never opened while cruising.. Think our speed plus maybe a headwind = like 40-50 knt winds.. Top 2 decks were closed off.

Yes, GSC was cancelled. We pulled in, guess they brought a tender boat out, but were looking at the weather and supposedly the seas were supposed to deteriorate thruout the day.. No clue if that happened or not, but person in a FB group said they've missed GSC last 3 cruises they were on.. Very common. They were saying the island manager makes the call. There were also supposed to be TWO ships there that day, and neither stopped. They weren't as concerned about getting people off the ship, but were concerned about getting them back onboard at the end of the day. It didnt "seem" bad, but who knows what currents were doing, what they saw they didnt like. It really doesnt matter, the call was made, and we puttered back to PC about 10 knts. As expected there were some people that threw a fit about their cruise being ruined and how dare they cancel the port the weather was fine blah blah blah.. So from what I can tell, do NOT get your heart set and base your whole cruise around GSC..

Just walked off about 835 this am was picked up and leaving about 9:10. Have a great cruise can’t wait to book our next one

Yea I worded the title poorly. But I bet that’s what they are talking about. Just buying the package outright for 1. But like you said with fas you get drinks, dining, WiFi etc etc and cheaper

On the escape right now and had biscuits and gravy at buffet. Is that what people think biscuits are supposed to taste like? Man I’ve never had biscuits that tasted that….. sour in my life. Maybe I’ve only ever had “fake” ones but if this is what real ones are supposed to taste like. Blech, guess more for everyone else..

Club balcony right now. Had a card already in it. Has shower gel shampoo and conditioner in shower and body lotion and liquid soap at sink edit to be clear: so 3 items in shower and 2 at sink

Having a discussion with someone back home, and they said once onboard you can buy just a single drink package even if there are 2 legal age people in the room. We already had ours anyway with the fas but didn’t think it was right?

The escape leaving today is pretty much sold out also.. was hoping for that in between sailing but no such luck.. that means the cruise lines are doing what they need to have full sailings

Yes I’d the fas fees aren’t still on the booking they aren’t overcharging you they are adding the fas back on and charging the gratuities (350).. you never got them “free” initially either.. or I’m totally missing something.. which is possible with my reading sometimes lol
