  1. So, since you arent allowed to bring water or sodas with you, if you arrive early, and are waiting to be able to board, do they have vending machines with soda or I'm guessing there are water fountains and stuff? edited to add: This will be Port Canaveral.
  2. Man I am going back and forth now about giving up some of our specialty dining and hitting either Pincho's or Food Republic instead.. Seems like a lot of value there.. Have teppenyaki (sp) Cagney's and Moderno (sp) booked right now.. Highly thinking about dropping Teppenyaki for sure.. And just cant decide on the others.. Since you get 4 items per credit at those places.. Even if they make the 2nd person buy 'something' ala carte instead of just using 1 credit for 2 people..
  3. So not taking into account mobility, haven, status or prepaid access, are boarding groups basically assigned as you check in? ie: first yyy number people are in group 1 (or whatever 1st after special groups) then next yyy are in group 2 etc etc?
  4. And I 100% apologize for the confusion at this point.. Once again, my ADHD reading comprehension got me.. Or just forgetting exactly which post I'm on. I totally missed this was specifically a post talking about VIVA vibe.... My brain saw 2 4 letter V words, and decided vibe was the only important one... So, while it says there are cabanas on escape, this 100% isnt the thread for that,,
  5. And from an article on this here site (cruise critic), granted from 3 years ago.. "Breakaway-class ships' Vibe Beach Clubs also boast cozy cabanas, which can be rented by the day or for the duration of your cruise. Sea day and port day rentals each come with a $30 food and beverage credit to be used in Vibe, while full-cruise rentals include a $100 credit. Cabanas come with a special food menu; food is not offered in Vibe otherwise. (Note: Only a handful of cabanas are available on each ship.) There are no cabanas on Norwegian Escape."
  6. Right, that's what I would expect them to look like.. and what I've seen on other ships. What you had posted before IMO does not look like a cabana..
  7. Those dont look like cabanas to me at least.. Looks like the mister area that has loungers and the few double loungers.. IF that's what they are calling cabanas.. No thanks lol
  8. I also wasn't aware the Escape had cabanas..
  9. That site shows hours of course subject to change as 7a-11p.. I've normally seen things listed as 8 or 9a - 7p.. What's anyone's experience with the 11p close time?
  10. Same thing could happen with room service food.. Could still be put somewhere for "later" And could be worse, could be just put on a paper towel or napkin since they would need to give the real plates back so they could be taken away. At least if you take it with you, it's probably going to be on it's own disposable or maybe real plate. So sure, while I 'get' what you're going for, still doesnt make a lot of sense. But hey, there is other food around that you can grab and take back to your cabin, so don't let me take it on a plate. I'll go grab something from the buffet and do the same thing.
  11. Wonder what their reasoning is for not allowing it? You're going to give it to someone else? You're going to decide you dont want it and just leave it somewhere? It's part of your meal that you paid for (it's part of the specialty dining credit and should be included). Just seems weird.
  12. No hash browns?!?! My cruise is going to be ruined!!!! 😄
  13. They knew you were on a cruise and did not want to bother you with a silly email!!! 😄
  14. Well at this point I'm only western carib so dont think VAT will apply.. Yea, I get that's a freaking disaster lol..
  15. And I was expressing my frustration with RCI seeming to hide their real pricing.. Seems simple enough..
  16. Apples and oranges. I was looking at pricing a royal cruise and got so frustrated trying to figure out how much the extra stuff would be, I just gave up. Drinks packages between 59-109 per day.. Ok.. Fine, what are the prices for this cruise? Cant find out til you give a deposit. Want that deposit to be refundable? Pay an extra $250 or whatever it was.. At least on an Uber if it's right at the end of a big concert or something, I'm expecting to pay more. On a cruise I'm trying to plan 12 months from now, shouldnt have to wonder how much stuff is going to be. Much less what ELSE am I not knowing.. At least NCL pretty much straight up front on their pricing. Take it or leave it, there it is..
  17. Oh, you sooooo don't live in my brain lol... 😄 😄 😄 But I do get where you're coming from
  18. I wasnt sure if they had you sign for every drink or not. They just scan and go then?
  19. So, this is our first cruise and we admittedly went overboard (if the pun fits) on amenities. This may be a 1 and done or we may love it. But we want to be able to evaluate and see what the best way to spend money would be. Since we have the drinks package and special dining (FAS) I know they still "charge" you but then the price is discounted off so your receipt shows 0.00 (unless taxes of course) At the end of the cruise, can you get an itemized printout of everything or will it be like a credit card statement where it will just show "tobacco road 0.00" on whatever date it was.. If I really want to see what I would have spent if I didnt have packages, do I need to ask for and keep every transaction receipt? Only thing I can see that they may not swipe your card for is if you have the drinks package and get like a fountain cola, or will they still swipe it even for that? That almost just seems like something they wouldnt keep as close as track of. Thanks again for your answers. 🙂
  20. You have to get as close to apples to apples as you can by booking equal stuff on other lines.. You mention upcharge for adult only pool area.. I guess you are talking Vibe? Spice H2O unless I'm mistaken isnt charged for.
  21. That's what I assumed... But you know about assuming.. Just didnt want any surprises popping up 🙂
  22. There are 2 of us going, so when it comes time to do the check in thing, 1 person can do the check in for both parties correct? I mean, the other person doesnt have to have their own account on NCL etc etc? Since I've never had to do this style check in with passports and stuff, just not 100% sure what to expect when the time comes. I know we'll fight getting a picture to be accepted lol, but other than a credit card to put on the room and our passports what other stuff do I need to do the process? Thanks
  23. Thanks for a fun trip review.. Boarding in less than 5 weeks love hearing about the Escape!! Cant wait to go on our first ever cruise!!!
