Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yes, you can cancel, upgrade to Premier, downgrade back to Plus, etc. I have done this multiple times and I normally do it through chat. Just make sure you get the email notification of the change and check your CC for the refund in the difference.
  2. If you want to be able to sleep like a Vampire.. then an inside cabin is perfect. Some of the best sleep I have had was in one. Once I was in the room, I had no idea if it was day or night.
  3. Like everyone else stated they are Sundae's and Cake. We had Premium on our last cruise and we had the "premium" desert 2x over the 7 days. Princess Plus gives you 2 a day, which in my opinion is a lot more than than I would ever consume. If you don't want a sundae, you can get a cup with the ice cream you want, and they also have Waffle Cones if you don't want a cup. They do regularly run out of the Waffle Cones so they might not always have them available. We were on the Discovery in January 2024 and the Premium Desert service was relatively slow; especially, when it was only serviced by one person. The worst situation you will run into is when 1 person is in line for a large group; therefore, the number of people in the line and actual wait could be misleading.
  4. You can have your TA make the downgrade to Plus and they should refund you the difference. Based on our recent 7 day cruise in 2024 with Premier: Internet: For my wife and I, this is a must, so no matter the package we would have purchased it; however, we only used it for 2 devices, even though Premiere offers 4 devices per person. So the extra devices was a waste for us. Alcoholic Drinks: I don't drink Whiskey, Bourbon or Wine and those were the primary ones which were more than $15/drink. I only ordered 2 drinks that were more than $15 and they were $18. So for my wife and I, premiere was a waste Premium Deserts: We had it a few times but never more than once in a day. Plus allows 2x a day, which in my opinion is more than enough. Not sure why anyone would want to eat it more than even once a day, let alone more than 2x a day. Specialty Dining: This could be worth it but if this is the only reason, then not worth getting Premiere. On our cruise, we only used it once and didn't go to the second one because we didn't want to get dressed up for it. Casual Dining: This could be one that would benefit cruisers who enjoy eating in the casual dining restaurants. The Discovery Sushi place was decent but the Pre-Fix limits what you can order and I would think it would get old eating it every day. Gigi's wasn't that great when we went so wouldn't ever eat there again. Photos: This was actually a good deal. I am not big on photos, but we took photos on embarkations, and at every port. We also took a few photos on various evenings. I would recommend visiting the photo center before the end of the cruise; especially, if your photos do not show up. The facial recognition won't pick up every photo you have taken. Princess Prizes: We didn't win anything but who knows if you won something big, it could be worthwhile. Production Shows: We didn't go to any of the shows but would think the seat reservations could be worthwhile. For our next cruise, we will only be getting the Plus Package.
  5. That happened on the Jan 13th Cruise I was on. I cannot remember on what day it happened but it was within the first couple days of the cruise.
  6. On our Jan 13th Mexican Riviera Cruise, I used OceanNow a minimum of 4-5x a day and upwards of 8x in a day to order drinks and Coffee. I used it on the pool deck, buffet and a few other areas. I always received what I ordered and in most cases all deliveries came in a timely manner. I think there was only one day, where it took a bit longer to deliver the Coffee's we ordered. I would also advise being on the lookout for your order because sometimes they could have a difficult time finding you; especially, when it is crowded. Overall, I thought OceanNow was an awesome service and looking forward to using it again on our next cruise.
  7. I recently booked a 16 Day Hawaii cruise that is 350 days away; however, the app allowed me to make MDR reservations. I think it could be a glitch because I have only paid the $200 refundable deposit. I am not holding my breath for the reservations to remain.
  8. Sorry. My timing was off. We were moving at around 2:50-3PM.
  9. Sorry no photos because I wasn’t planning on doing a live/review. We ate lunch at the Buffet and the food was ok. The sauteed vegetables were good but the meat items were blah. They had calamari rounds about the size of a sand dollars and my wife said it was like eating a tasteless rubber band. (6/10) We ate dinner at the Crown Grill and we had the filet mignon and the ribeye. The filet was great and the wife enjoyed it. The ribeye was alright. The sides and appetizers are very very small portions. The onion soup wasn’t that bad but a bit too salty for the wife. For example the Asparagus consisted of 4 spears about the thickness of a q-tip and 3” long. The bone marrow potato is about the size of a mini hostess donut. (7/10) I also had a premium desert at Gelato. It looked better than it tasted but it wasn’t bad. The issue is the spoon they provide is a bit too short to reach the bottom of the glass without needing to tippy toe the top of the spoon. The cup is also in layers whip cream, gelato and then fudge. It was interesting but doubt I would get another one.(7/10) I will post the MDR menus when I eat there.
  10. This cruise I am on is also sold out. I think we got lucky by getting to the dock early and being green lane. The rooms were ready at 1:30PM. We were underway at around 2:30PM.
  11. These are the movies which are listed. They also are playing the NFL playoff games
  12. My wife and I drove to San Pedro and arrived at the parking lot at 10:15AM. Porters were ready for the luggage on the main Street so we only had to roll the luggage outside of the parking lot. The security line moved quickly; however, the section where you break out into the Blue lane and Green lane wasn’t well communicated. There was no signage anywhere, the only reason we were aware is we heard some others. The green lane was quick and even though they gave us a boarding group number, they decided to simply let everyone board at once. We were on the gangway by 10:30 or so and on the boat by 10:45. So it only took us about 30 minutes to board; therefore, it was a super easy quick process.
  13. I am on the 7 Day | Mexican Riviera starting on January 13, 2024 and today Princess changed all of my reservations from SKAGWAY to JUNEAU. I don't mind the dining room change but thought it was kind of odd they changed it 2 days before the cruise. At least they kept me at the same time and private table.
  14. I am on the Jan 13th Cruise and I received the medallion shipping notification on December 22, 2023. My recommendation would be to not stress out too much, since you can get them at the port. Here is the tracking so far: Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item BENSENVILLE, IL 60106 December 23, 2023, 6:56 pm Shipping Partner: 4PX EXPRESS USA Arrived Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item BENSENVILLE, IL 60106 December 23, 2023, 4:56 pm Shipping Partner: 4PX EXPRESS USA Picked Up By Shipping Partner, USPS Awaiting Item BENSENVILLE, IL 60106 December 23, 2023, 2:56 pm Shipping Partner: 4PX EXPRESS USA Pre-Shipment, USPS Awaiting Item December 21, 2023
