  1. Looking forward to the rest of this review! I have used your Venezia review to get excited for our first Carnival cruise on the Firenze in November. Thinking about an East Coast cruise possibly with the kids in 25 or 26.
  2. working at a land based restaurant where tips aren't added on the every drink and working on a cruise ship that adds an 18% gratuity to each drink ordered is very different. Of course land based servers who get nothing a a one drink order are not happy. the difference is that the bard enters on ships got their 18% on the drink already so anything on top is a happy extra.
  3. possibly those aforementioned racy books 😇 if Greg took a picture of almost any page on my book he'd probably get banned from CC
  4. This is literally my worst nightmare... I'm always afraid someone is reading over my shoulder. I have a privacy screen for when I'm reading on my phone, now I think I need one for reading on my kindle!!🫣
  5. yay!! I've been thinking you had a cruise coming up, I just couldn't remember which line so I was checking all the boards.
  6. We didn't cruise on Carnival to Alaska, we have only cruised Disney but we have done this tour for whale watching in Juneau with and without kids and it was amazing each time:https://www.stepintoalaska.com/excursions/alaskas-whales-glaciers-rainforest-trails/
  7. Also if you are checking bags the last time I flew into Orlando the baggage carousel they sent out bags to was broken and it took and hour and a half after landing to get our bags.
  8. I have only cruised to Endicott glacier and never done Glacier Bay and it is still beautiful and awe-inspiring
  9. I have done 2 cruises to Alaska, both in an inside cabin. I say the best cabin for an Alaskan cruise is the one you can afford that gets you on the ship! Pros of an inside cabin: It stays light FOREVER in the summer in Alaska, having the inside cabin allows you to get great sleep with no light seepage Cons of an inside cabin: there is beautiful scenery everywhere and you will have to go to a public deck to enjoy it. The pro to this is that the scenery is all around you and being on an upper, open deck allows you to enjoy being literally surrounded by the beauty
  10. It is beautiful just from the ship. The really nice thing about Alaska is that most ports are right in the tourist area so you walk off the ship right into the touristy port area. We did do excursions at every port but were able to do an excursion, re-board the ship for a late lunch and then pop back off to wander around the port area.
  11. Yes, I used the same us address for shipping and billing and I just used the zip code hack as above so it would match my credit card address.
  12. I did, I used my office address in the US but put the postal code without the letters and added 00 to them like you do at US gas pumps (eg T2P 2V6 becomes 22600 for the zip code) You could probably just use a random US hotel address for the street address as well.
  13. You HAVE to do Alaska! It’s such an amazing, beautiful, stunning cruise! I’ve done 2 and would go back tomorrow if I could!!
  14. I think @jam19872016 did a similar walk from A to B recently
  15. We have cruised twice to Alaska in May, both our cruises were beautiful weather, 70s to 80s at each port. In fact our last cruise to Alaska the only rain we saw all week was the cold, rainy weekend we spent in Vancouver before the cruise (it was a DCL cruise)
  16. We went to the SeaLife Aquarium at Icon Park last January. We have passes to our local Zoo which gave us 50% off of admission. It's so small we were through the aquarium in about 45 minutes or less. It was expensive at 1/2 price for the time we were there, I cannot imagine paying full price for it.
  17. I did! But I'm a Disney-girl at heart. My 4 cruises have all been on DCL, 3 prior to kids and 1 after 2 kids. All were amazing. There are plenty of adult only areas and amazing kids clubs and the specialty restaurants are all 18+ on Disney.
  18. The Dream is so pretty! I have only been on her sister ship the Fantasy but the Aqua Duck water coaster is fun if much slower than the name "coaster" implies.
  19. We officially booked Firenze for a 5 night cruise Nov 2024 so I enjoyed a look at our ports (Cabo and Ensenada) and I’ll be scouring Venezia reviews for the ship info.
  20. I play "spot the Disney Ship" in cruise reports. With the first picture I deduced it must be the Magic as she has taken over the West Coast cruises while the Wonder is in Australia. Your next picture confirmed it for me!
