  1. All I know @Mudhen is that I love champagne, and other DRY sparkling white wines (except moscato and prosecco) and I have read that the English sparkling can hold its own. I think it's very proudly British, I will let you know how it tastes in February 🍾
  2. @jaypo63 a FOOD fight? 😮😲 Really? How disgusting. @Victoria2 and @Catchum glad to hear that. I DO love champagne but after much studying we have purchased the drinks package and I have found several wines by the glass that I am sure I will enjoy. Looking forward to tasting the Gusbourne Kentish bubbles.
  3. I'll go with "...or" Pleased ewe no watt eye mien, Viktorija!
  4. That's exactly why I chose cabin 5023 over many others available on our upcoming Fremantle to Sydney voyage. I WANT to feel the pitching of the ship, I want to look over the balcony and see ocean, I want to hear the bow wave. I am relatively new to cruising though, first time on QM2 so I might come to regret my choice of cabin.
  5. Thank you, @sfred,they look ideal. I will seek them out. I will also ADAPT my spelling as required when I find out the correct one.
  6. Thank you sfred. So I should bring several simple USA/UK to Australia adaptors and then piggyback some USB adaptors onto those? Or should I just buy USA and/or UK plug-in USB chargers? Too many "U.."s! Do they need to check the adaptors for safety?
  7. I am confused regarding power outlets and permitted powerboards/adapters etc on QM2. Our equipment is Australian, so we are used to bringing a multi adapter when we travel overseas. I also understand that there are no USB charging ports on QM2, so I know we will require those for phone, camera, E=reader, IPad etc. (I KNOW, why so many devices??? Blame my husband!) My confusion lies around what power accessories/adapters etc are permitted. Surge protectors are not allowed, but what about accessories with circuit breaker/overload protection? Pardon my ignorance, but I don't really understand which is which and I don't want to have it all confiscated and be without charging facilities for all the stuff. Can someone who is a QM2 expert (that's ALL of you!) tell me what to bring? many thanks
  8. Thank you, David and Mudhen. One less thing to bother about, I will let Cunard take the photos at check-in.
  9. Hello All, Wondering about the passport-style photos that are to be uploaded when you check-in online before sailing. Is a shot from a smartphone acceptable?
  10. Ahhh, this community makes me laugh! It would indeed be a very expensive luggage swim, Victoria2. I think that entire "Bright Lights" ensemble is hideous! And that outfit on the solo male at the bottom looks stupid on HIM as a twenty-year-old model, let's not even contemplate it on a real gentleman of substance and maturity. What IS that? A cardigan blazer? Ghastly and ridiculous. I will take my advice from the esteemed members of the Cunard discussion board here, thank you very much.
  11. I like using my smartphone and I use the internet for lots of things for my own convenience, but as far as I know there is no law that says everyone HAS to have internet access and smartphones. Unfortunately, life has become so difficult, expensive and exclusionary for those of us who choose NOT to use this technology. Similarly, it's not compulsory to have a driver's license or a credit card, but damned if I know how people manage to go about their business without them (unless you're a corrupt oligarch or druglord, I'm sure THEY have no issues). Glad that WantedOnVoyage has clarified that there is an alternative for those who do not wish to be glued to their "devices" permanently.
  12. Aren't they all wonderful on this discussion board? People really know their stuff, and are so generous with sharing information and goodwill. Have a lovely voyage, HopefulCruiser!
  13. That is indeed excellent advice, exlondoner and Victoria 2. Shall bear in mind.
  14. I have mentioned something like this in another thread, but as a newcomer to Cunard I will be wearing my evening dresses to breakfast, the gym, on laps of the promenade deck as well as dinner. Can't go wrong!😉
  15. OK, this spoilt princess will sign for the drinks (sigh...😉) Thanks, and good point @alibabacruisers, but one of the attractions of prepaying for a drinks package for me is that I don't want to do any arithmetic on my cruise, nor do I want to discover too late that the drinks package was not a good deal for me (although that is not likely, especially if I try to keep pace with my husband)
  16. Thank you, @kk20! That's good to hear. Luckily I am not grown up enough to enjoy martinis.
  17. Trivial question, I apologise! We have purchased the Drinks package for our upcoming QM2 voyage from Fremantle to Sydney. Do we have to sign a receipt for every drink as we receive it? I know it's a bit petty, and it's not the primary reason for buying the package, but it would kind of dampen my fun if I have to sign a chit every time we get a drink!
  18. Hi All, New to cruising and Celebrity. I just purchased the advertised Black Friday reduced price Classic Drinks Package for AUD$74.08. I was expecting that the 20% service charge would be added at checkout, but it wasn't. Does that mean that it's already included or am I going to be hit on board with a service charge? Also, a trivial question, I apologise! I know it's a bit petty, and it's not the primary reason for buying the package, but if we have a pre-purchased drinks package, do we have to sign a receipt for every drink as we receive it? It would kind of dampen my fun if I have to sign a chit every time we get a drink!
  19. Thanks lasekeye, I just saved AUD$574! (well I will have when my credit card is refunded!)
  20. Hi, I am new to Celebrity (and cruising!) We have paid for our shore excursions already. Is it possible to cancel and rebook them at the reduced prices? And if so, how, and are there any penalties for cancelling? Thanks in advance.
  21. I live in Sydney and used this number: 132441 It's only attended Monday to Friday. I paid using a debit card so there was no card fee. I spoke to a very polite and helpful person. Perhaps this information is a bit too late for you though if you have already arranged for credit card payment.
  22. Good for you, @ace2542 I hope I will make it to the 200 years also, but I am a bit older than you so I probably won't be able to dance with you!
