Earlier on this Board, someone said they were told that MSC Accounting was releasing some refunds July 27. Well here we are, July 27. Anyone seen any activity on their credit card? Maybe once released it takes 24-48-72 hours to show up, we will see.

I also saw this and was hoping it was true.  So far, no refund on my credit card.  Very disappointed in MSC and will most likely not sail with them again.  It's the lack of information and good explanation for the missing refunds.  I just don't understand why customers that had cruises cancelled in April, May and June already have their refunds before March cancellations.

    Hello,

The latest, yesterday 21st June, from MSC re delay is processing refunds is it could take up to 120 days as they "are based outside the UK". I do not see the relevance of this statement other than to explain their incompetence/inefficiency.

    Regards,

It's already 130 days waiting for us, so I guess the 120 days you heard is not correct.  Beginning to think we will never get our refund.  Love MSC cruises, but pretty sure we will not be taking another one after this refund nightmare.

These escalations can keep on going like forever. I wonder how the companies management is dealing with everytime they get news about it. If it was me, I would rather offer an immidiete refund just to close this question at once and not bother anyone anymore. I hate be waiting for things..

I am a pretty patient person.  I understand the cruise lines had a major hit with Covid and had a financial nightmare with refunds.  What is most frustrating is that people whose cruises were in April, May and June have reported getting their refunds.  It seems they should have started with March cruises.  We really enjoy the MSC product, have sailed on Divina, Seaside, Armonia and Meraviglia, but their customer service is in need of massive improvements.

  4. My story is almost the same as yours.  MSC canceled our 3/28 cruise.  We requested the FCC on 3/14.  Received it, but was for the incorrect amount.  TA contacted MSC and they agreed it was for the incorrect amount and the difference would be credited to my credit card along with my taxes and port fees.  We have been "escalated" twice now, first 5 weeks ago, and again last week.  Evidently escalation means nothing.  As of today, still no refund.  We are very frustrated at this point.  Would like to re-book for Dec. 2021 but will not until we receive our promised refund.

Should be a good cruise we had to cancel a 21 night cruise on the Bliss through the Panama Canal in April. Also have cancelled two other cruises because of the virus. Fortunately we have done three Panama Canal cruises before so we can wait. We have already done two cruises on the Encore and really enjoyed them.

We have only done a partial transit of the canal so were really looking forward to it.  We had 2 cruises canceled and had to cancel our 6 week RV trip from Florida to Montana this summer.  Cant wait to start cruising and travelling again.  We did get one cruise in this year, the Escape in January.  Haven't been on the Encore yet, but can't wait!

Guess you need to explain to me why I am a sucker. I just booked a 17 night cruise on the Encore from San Francisco through the Panama Canal for October 2021 in a cabin I like a front facing slant cabin which there aren't that many. I have been on the Encore before and enjoyed it. I got a price that I liked and if it goes down I get the price drops and I have over a year to cancel with no penalties. Also I have not had to put any money on the reservation. Just curious why do you think I am a sucker?

We booked this same cruise a few weeks ago.  Our October, 2020  2 week cruise on the Sun through the Panama Canal was canceled, so we were happy to find this one on the Encore for Oct 2021.  We were also able to book an angled balcony.  The price for the 17 day was less than the 14 day and we got an extra 200.00 onboard credit.  We are very happy with the price and don't feel like suckers!

The first cruise in on 13/JUN/2021. A classic itineray for a new ship: Genoa, Naples, Messina, Valletta, Barcelona and Marseille. I will book for the last med cruise 24/OCT/2021 and the TA.

Very interested, but I can't find the transatlantic itinerary on the MSC website.   Am I missing it?  If so, what category is it listed under.  I don't see a category for transatlantic in the destination drop down box.  Thanks.

Very responsible of them to do this...

We are Florida residents.  It's now in the schools here but they have not yet closed any and it's not yet out in the press.  There are many, many people who have been exposed first and second hand through schools and conferences in the last week.  It's the peak of Tourist Season and Spring Break 2020.

At least MSC is doing the responsible thing to prevent matters from getting worse.  I only hope that everyone else does the same.

Where are you getting your facts from?  I live in Florida and have not heard anything about schools being infected with the virus.

  9. We are experienced cruisers with 45+ cruises sailed.  We have been on both Armonia & Meraviglia and had a fantastic time on both of these ships.  We had the worst cruise ever on Holland America Veendam, buy still enjoyed Bermuda.  A vacation is what you make of it.   Also sailed on Divina & Seaside and found the service and dining to be just fine.

  10. We sailed on Meraviglia from Dec 8 - Dec 15.  We had a very enjoyable day at Ocean Cay.  We booked on Nov. 20, fantastica balcony (actually an aft on deck 10 with a huge balcony).  We paid 199.00 per person, the deals are out there if you look for them.  We also found the food and service to be comparable with other cruise lines.  We are looking forward to sailing Meraviglia again.  In addition, we had requested a table for 2 or 4, but ended up at a table for 10.  We asked for a change, and were assigned a table for two with no problem.

  11. We just sailed in Jan. to Western Caribbean with a group of 13.   3 of our passports expire in May, but they were accepted.  The three cruisers took along their certified birth certificates just in case.  I think close looped cruises to the Caribbean may have different passport requirements.

I don't think those were the actual eTickets. It was probably the Booking Confirmation which has much of the same info, but doesn't, for example, have luggage tags. There are a few other differences too.

As JD said, and CruisingMom was told, eTickets are 20 days out.

You made me open up the doc and check!  It contains my actual eTickets and luggage tags, not the booking confirmation.

  13. We are sailing on Seaside on March 28.  I filled out my on line check in on Thursday, it said my docs would be available 20 days prior to the cruise, but they were emailed to me shortly after I finished the check in.

As I said in post 3, we were there last Thursday.  There are two complete docks and I didn't see anything like the picture.

I agree.  We were there on January 6 on NCL Escape.  There are two complete docks, one of RCL mega ships was docked next to us at the old dock.  I did not see anything that looked like the picture above.

  15. We docked at Mahogony Bay on December 10 on the Meraviglia, but the new pier was not finished then.  The pier is finished now, so I think you will probably dock in Coxen Hole, next to the Symphony of the Seas.  That's just my guess!
