  1. Worst case scenario you collect your luggage at Auckland, go through Customs and turn right when you walk out the door to the check in counters and check in for your flight to Melbourne. As mentioned previously Auckland International terminal is not large (on a world scale). Best case scenario you book your return flight to Auckland and your AKL-MEL flight with a carrier in the same “alliance” e.g. One World and at check in ask if they can check you all the way through to Melbourne. They will give you your boarding passes for both flights and you will be a transit passenger in Auckland and will not have to go through customs etc before boarding your flight to Melbourne. I would recommend having a carry on with some clothes etc as airlines have been known to ‘misplace’ luggage. Whichever you chose, have a great holiday!
  2. We went on Seabourn Pursuit in Feb/Mar and these rules were made very clear to us before our sailing several times and at least daily reminders onboard. If you got tired at a landing site where you were not allowed to sit, you had the option to get back on a zodiac and return to the ship as they were running pretty constantly. Trip of a lifetime and totally worth the precautions. Would go again in a heartbeat. As a previous poster stated, vital to be flexible too.
  3. We were on Seabourn Pursuit Feb/Mar and were at a private birthday dinner when they had lamb shanks and crème brûlée on the MDR menu. On the way out we asked if we could have both the following night. We joined another couple for dinner the following night (last minute) and ordered our entree off that night’s menu and had our lamb shanks for main and crème brûlée for dessert as requested. Oh and no butlers on this ship just great crew!
  4. We got back a couple of weeks ago and were on Pursuit. Boots were comfortable with two pairs thin merino socks and the longest hike I did was 2.2km each way to rock hopper penguin and albatross colonies. This was in the Falkland Islands. As others have said most landings on the peninsula do not require as much walking to enjoy the wildlife and scenery. I would take this trip again in a heartbeat!
  5. We’re on Pursuit in ten days and really hope we see it
  6. Cataratas hotel is fully booked for the time we would go but agree the location is spectacular! Renting a car is not an option as it’s a 15 hour drive each way from Buenos Aires on the back of flying from New Zealand. Also flights are not as readily available as I thought. Should’ve planned earlier but will try and make it work somehow as we really want to see the falls.
  7. Has anyone done the pre-voyage trip to Iguazú Falls with Seabourn? We’re going to Antartica in February and seriously thinking about it. Would appreciate any feedback if you’ve been.
