  1. Was on the as ascent first week of march. I did not have a wifi package but my friend and her mother did. it never seemed to be working. They went to customer service twice and it was fixed for a short time. By day 3 they gave up as they didn't find they were using it anyhow and it was not working well at all. she is easy going I would not of been happy at all paying for something that didnt work well.

Also when I booked with FBC I had to pay immediately. Within the first 24 hours I found a cheaper price elsewhere but they said it wasn't exactly the same, so they wouldn't honour the lower price I had found. The fight I found price didnt have refundable on it and the celebrity one did. To match the price the air ticket had to have all the same conditions. So they refused to give me the lower price but said I could cancel for 200 (290 CDN) bucks. I told them I didnt care about the 24 hour refundable ticket. But they do as they are third party and if u cancel within the first 24 hours they lose no money. Total benefit for them. Initially we had just booked one way (there) as we were thinking of extending our holiday. A few weeks later I called FBC to book a return flight and they said they couldn't do that with out cancelling for 200 bucks the there flight. Then booking both there and return 🤷‍♀️ again made no sense so I booked the return somewhere else. Anytime I had a question on flight there they said contact air company (Air Canada). Air Canada was actually great…. I found FBC useless after booking and as I said early misleading on we ll get u to the ship. I cant imagine counting on them at all if something went wrong and I had been late and missed cruise. like u said read the terms and conditions careful. 😀

  4. FIRST CRUISE ASCENT MAR 3 - 10TH. We booked our flight through celebrity, ground transportation and excursion. I have learned that they are all 3rd party company’s. i thought the flight was guaranteed that if u missed the boat because of flight delay or shuttle delay. They will assist u in finding another plane to the next port…..but they dont tell u …that u will pay for the flight….it is kind of misleading even when u read the fine print and when I talked to them when I book. They dont explain to u that it will be on ur dime..they just say they will take care of u and get u to the ship…….there was no advantage to book through them and we payed more to do so. in future I would get a hotel the night before so no stress about maybe missing the ship. Their ground shuttle to port (third party) dropped us off at the wrong port, I realized it within a minute of getting off the shuttle and was able to flag him down to get back on board to be taken to the right port. Decided to take an uber on the way back to the airport - cheaper and better imo.
  5. FIRST CRUISE ASCENT MAR 3 - 10TH. Food, entertainment, room, staff, ship excellent…loved it. Ports - Bahamas…nice port. Cozumel - didn't like port. Had friends that went to margarita ville and had fun. We should of done that instead of walking around looking at the shops. Cayman - so so port. Did a beach excursion …..coral beach club…. clean but old and tired needs a refresh….imo not worth the price we payed. Negatives in whole experience Booked cruise through celebrity’s website…..as it seems to have lots of IT issues. After booking and paying on line. In a few days our discounts disappeared and we were sent a new bill saying we owed 3 thousand more dollars. It got resolved but not without time (3hrs) and stress and having to go to a supervisor (manager) with celebrity. We booked our flight through celebrity, ground transportation and excursion.   6. Just did the mar 3 -10 cruise. didnt purchase the drink package. Water, juice, coffee, milk, tea included can be found at the buffet and several other spots on ship. Travelling with daughter (27) doesnt drink alcohol has a few pops in day and I have 1 to 2 alcohol drinks a day on the cruise. so no brainer for us not to get a packge and pay as we went. So total for 7 day cruise for under 200 (US) for the week.

First cruise next month. just a question about the shore excursions. one we are going on is a jeep drive to a beach and snorkelling. do they have change facilities or do u wear ur bathing suit underneath? was planning on carrying a small backpack, when ur swimming where do ur belongings go? does anyone watch them or are they locked up? thanks in advance 😀

  14. First cruise for me. Taking my daughter in March on the Ascent. Has been a big learning curve. Made many mistakes along the way but will know better for next time. Did booking on line through celebrity’s website during a sale. Kept everything which was smart. As somehow after a few days i got a new bill after paying in full. That I owed another couple grand. My promo discounts had been removed. Some IT issue? Found it a real hassle getting that resolved but did, hd to go to manger (supervisor) level. i also never looked at flights before booking. That was a mistake on my part and pretty prices for my dates from Ottawa imo. Anyways learning lots, didn't find this site til after booking. But still excited about the cruise and looking forward to it. I know nothing about the Azamara….I will check it out:)
  15. I found the same thing trying to book seat on line. Kept going to US dollars. I called AC and they told me it was because celebrity flight booked (flight) on US site. AC agent was able to do it on the phone for me re seats in CDN dollars.
  16. I know ur pain exact same thing happened to me. Nightmare. But still looking forward to our cruise in March. I really dont get why they havent fixed their “IT” issues.

  18. Im on the Ascent in March. I’d like to hear from people who were on it in last month. As I would like to know if things have changed from the past. As App and emails from Celebrity say pick ur time and also u will be assigned one of the 4 main dining rooms to eat. Though u will be able to move to other main rooms if available once on ship.

  20. truckswain i agree if i were to ever book a cruise again i would do it the way u do call directly deal with a real person and get an email with fees before u pay. But in saying that they have a major issue with their online booking system that should be fixed! I didnt make any errors on my end on line and have all to prove it. They actually send u a receipt at the end of ur on line booking showing discounts fees and what u paid. And balance owing zero. so somehow over night the discounts disappeared. And automatic emails were sent to me telling me to pay more of cruise cancelled. With a new bill and no discounts. The supervisor clearly acknowledged that it was an issue with the site. i actually feel bad for the TA but Im sure they like I can get it fixed. the supervisor could see everything I entered on line. I didnt have to prove anything. and they also know all the discounts that are happening. shame it took me to go to a supervisor.
  21. First Cruise. Ascent March 2024. As a rookie I decided to book on line through Celebrity’s own site. During the black Friday sale. it appears they have some major IT issues. So not impressed. Booking on line was a breeze. I saved everything as I went along. Very smart to do. I payed in full. Woke up the next morning to an email from celebrity saying I owed 3000 dollars asap or my cruise would be cancelled. Looked at the attached receipt and could clearly see that the discounts were no longer there. i cant explain in words the “stress” that I felt. I called them and spent the next 2 1/2 hours on the phone before the issue was resolved. The first customer services person I was speaking to was very nice but u could tell he was working from home (kids) in the background. He kept putting me on hold as he said he had to ask someone about the situation. I told him I could send all my saved booking pages to prove discount. But no one seemed to want that? Anyways eventually after over 1 1/2 hrs going back and forth and him asking other people, he said they could cancel my booking and rebook but prices had gone up and Id owe another 400. Yes 400 sounds way better than 3000. But I felt it was BS and said no. He then put me on hold again and came back and said that was the best they could do. i then said I wanted to speak to a supervisor. I spoke with a supervisor and within 5mins she had fixed the issue, saying that somehow the system had removed my discount. Within minutes she emailed me a corrected receipt and gave me 140 more off as there was another discount she said I qualified for. Again I cant tell u how stressful inside me that situation felt. A few days later I called to book a one way flight through celebrity. As we were going to do some touring on land before returning home. Flight booked no issues. One way ticket to Fort Lauderdale. This week we decided to just fly home after cruise so I called celebrity flights department. And they said for them to book a return flight I would have to cancel my flight there. They said to do this there would be a fee of 200 dollars. That they just couldn't add a return flight without doing that. I told them I did not want to cancel flight there just wanted to add the return flight. So Im not going to pay 200 for them to do this. I will must book return flight else where but I personally found it ridiculous and have come away felling there customer service is very poor. Next, sorry there is a next 😉 I booked some excursions - at 2 of the 3 port stops. I noticed there was nothing offered for Nassau. I called Celebrity excursions. No one could tell me why ie: all sold out…non offered? I asked if any would be added as I am new do this they said they didnt know? I called twice and got the same answer. Still remaining positive but unimpressed with the online booking and customer service people answering the phone. Everyone was nice but not helpful imo, except the supervisor.
