  1. This is the very reason we are not booking our first night dinner before we go. I know we have 3 free dinners in special dinning rooms but if we book all of them now it will be well over $300 and I really don't want to have to argue about it on the cruise. Is there any way to book these dinners ahead of time without paying for them. There are 4 of us, so that makes a lot of difference for us.
  2. I am looking for the location of the Club Class Dining room on the Discovery and also at which location is the Suite Breakfast. Also, do you know if you can order scones for breakfast in the Suite breakfast? I enjoy scones more than anything else.
  3. Just curious, does Princess still have the luncheon for the 40 top traveler with the most days and or do they still celebrate the 3 travelers by number of travel days at the Captains party? Please let me know. Did they do this on the Discovery Princess if you know.
  4. We are on the Discovery on 4-15 in a suite and elite with almost 70 cruises on Princess. Do you think we might get invited? We are traveling with another couple in a suite and elite and if we do get invited we want to go with them. Has anyone ever experienced the chance to attend with their other folks in their group. We are grouped together for meals so Princess knows we are traveling as a group. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Yes, so worth it. Will not travel on ship without Club Class. I am a very picky eater and want to eat when I am hungry not when the clock tells me it is time.
  6. Whoops, there is also a luncheon for the most traveled passengers, that is held for the top 40 traveler with the most travel days with Princess. We have been many times, and it is a great event. But, some ships do a before dinner event with drinks and finger foods and that is also good. Not as much food and you get to chat with more folks. I think it just depends on the Princess Circle person.
  7. We have been in the top 3 a couple of times, and we only have a bit over 500 days. Never the top persons, but have been number 2 and 3. Depends on the cruise and how many elites show up on that cruise. It is nice, you get to have another couple join you if you are traveling with them. Very nice event.
  8. I always order coffee and scones. I get a pot of coffee and 8 scones and we have our friends over for afternoon tea in the stateroom or on the deck. So much nicer than in the dinning room and this way we only eat so much. If any scones are left over into the fridge they go or an evening snack or late night room walkabout. Love the jam and cream for the scones, make sure you get double that.
  9. Just curious, My husband and I are going on a 7 day cruise with another couple. We are all in suites, so we get the first night at a special restaurant. But we have the Premiere and they have the Plus package. Can we use 2 of the 4 extra meals we get on the Premiere package to gift to the other couple? Has anyone ever gifted an included meal in a special restaurant before?
  10. Not only drinks, but the Brownies are so yummy and the cookies delightful. I will admit I had to stop by each time I went to the gym. Not sure who I was kidding, but hopefully it helped out a bit. Traveling in a suite in April and did not know that they had a happy hour also. Live and learn, Have a drink package but will visit at least once for this. Thanks for letting us know.
  11. Just curious, do all suite guests get invited. We are 2 couples in 2 suites, hope we both get invited.
  12. My husband could not find his Ray-ban sunglasses on our last cruise to Alaska, and I went down to the front desk and they had about 4 or 5 sunglasses but not his, of course his were in his sweater pocket..They seem to keep stuff for the current trips, not sure what happens after that.
  13. It appears this stops on Dec. 31. Just wonder if it will be renewed as we go later than that and have the upgrade that includes this. Oh well, we will see I guess.
  14. Thrak, thank you for this reply. I so seldom drink, but now I can try a bunch of drinks I have never even heard of and see if I like any of them. At least I can try them and if I don't enjoy they can just go away.
  15. We just signed up for the Discovery and we got the package with the $18.00 drinks. Anyone know what you get at that price range?.
  16. Just signed up for the Discovery and we signed up for the promotion with the prizes listed. How does this work? What prizes do they give out? Has anyone ever really received one? Just curious. We have not cruised since June and then they did not seem to do this. Any answers will be appreciated. If this has been discussed before I am sorry I did not find it. I have not been on cruise critic for a long time.
  17. We are going on the Ruby next week, and want to book both Crown Grill and Sabitinis, but we also have $200 non refundable credit and understand that if we book now we have to pay now. So, as I know it can take a long time to get your $ back we wanted to avoid having to apply for a refund, So, has anyone paid up front and received the money back when they got on the cruise and if so, was if refundable or non refundable credit. Any advise will help. I understand that the restaurants book up early and there are 4 or 6 of us. Thank you in advance...
  18. Yes, so worth. You have a bit nicer cabin, can dine most times without a wait. We have been asked to use a buzzer once, but decided to go to the buffet and the next day they seems so sorry that it had happened. You get a special item at meals, one not on the regular menu and mostly the special is really good. Had peach Melba once and it was not good to me, but then again my husband ate his and mine. So go figure. Service is superior and not in a special room but a private part of the dining room. Special linens and very cozy. We normally only cruise with club class so we have 2 cruises this year coming up and both are club class.
