  1. We do Free At Sea Plus on every cruise and will continue to do so.
  2. Unless you’re trying to “hook up” with someone (which is the exact opposite of the philosophy of naturism), what anyone else looks like should be irrelevant. The point is to be comfortable in your own skin with like minded people. We’ve been to multiple locations….
  3. Out of curiosity, do charters like these (or Star Trek or whatever) count toward latitude rewards? And do you get the perks for like platinum, etc as you would on a normal NCL cruise?
  4. I guess that’s one way to prevent cheating by having an ace up your sleeve.
  5. All this yammering over a one day fluctuation for what amounts to under 2 grand of stock (100 shares) for most of the people on here? Put your money in an index fund if this type of single day action causes this much concern.
  6. 4) Dead Money. Stock like utilities or consumer staples that stay basically flat, typically held for dividend income.
  7. I hate buffets, especially on a crowded cruise ship. But yes, if it is in a hurry or what you’re describing then ok. Kind of a related question: what is with the people that camp out and monopolize the tables? Eat and GTFO. Don’t play cards, don’t read, etc. Other people need the dining tables to…dine.
  8. I’m nowhere near that number (maybe a tenth) but I know we have eaten exactly ZERO dinners there.
  9. It’s both good news and bad news. Happens all the time.
  10. $100 doesn’t do anything for me when I’ve spent thousands booking a specific cruise for specific ports. If you bought tickets for an expensive concert then show up and it is someone else, wouldn’t you be upset?
  11. I’ve had this exact same thought and thought I was just off the rails with some crazy conspiracy theory. I don’t….think…they are but it has been happening quite a lot and I’ve wondered.
  12. I don’t mind the fixed menu. I know what I’m getting and it’s all good, in my opinion. Many (most?) land restaurants have fixed menus, other than maybe a special of the day or two. My favorite restaurant has the same dish that I have been ordering every time since the 1980’s. I don’t quite understand the complaints about the fixed menu, but then again I don’t understand at least half the complaints about other stuff on here either.
  13. The website and the app leave a lot to be desired.
  14. I could if you are using the gym and getting sweaty, or doing an excursion where you might get dirty (hiking, ATV ride, etc).
  15. Yes. They cancelled Grenada on us just a few weeks back on our recent cruise to the southern Caribbean on the Jade.
  16. Buffet spaghetti is your make-or-break cruise criteria?
  17. “I Crossed The Atlantic And Weirdly Complained About It Sort Of And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt”
  18. I would cruise the Epic again, but only in The Haven. I kind of like the atrium/casino area where you can sit and have a cocktail and watch people play. Seemed kind of a nice “happening” area overall.
  19. If you can upgrade to Haven, you won’t have the ridiculous bathroom situation.
  20. NCLH is $19 and change today, call it about $2K for a hundred shares. If you take just one week cruise per year for the $100 credit, that’s essentially a 5% annual “dividend” which isn’t taxable, effectively increasing your net. Not to mention the “yield” increases on longer cruises for the $250 credit, or if you use it more than once per year. If you’re Haven, $2k should be well within your budget (I hope!) and a nice perk that you can always sell later, or just hold on to it for the potential future growth and the ongoing “dividend” OBC. Quite easy to blow a hundred bucks on something at the shops or like sushi in a restaurant, etc
  21. I think I read on here that you can still request fixed dining? Some solos and couples still do it? i haven’t done it.
