  1. I'm sorry if you took this the wrong way, I've never been known for biting my tongue, and was making a general statement for anyone who considers price the only factor, and not saying that it pertains to you. I will add that Virgin is much more interested in making sure you are happy than Princess ever was. The crew and management on board are empowered to address any issue that comes up.
  2. If low prices is all one cares about, and not what you get for the money, you might as well stay home. In the long run, considering what's included with Virgin, and all of the add-ons Princess charges you for, Virgin is only slightly more.....sometimes even less than Princess if you catch a good deal and factor in the added benefits. The food is substantially better on Virgin and cooked to order, and the happiest crew at sea makes a huge difference. Since we became converts early on, our Deep Blue Extras come in handy with $100 each OBC, free laundry, early boarding, private party, etc... Currently, they are only offering "Blue Extras" for new status matches.
  3. One thing's for sure, that's the last bad breakfast you'll have to eat for the next week.
  4. Cover your ____ by telling the front desk about it, so they don't try and blame it on you later.
  5. Don't worry about fitting in. The vibe on board is that of acceptance. We love staying on the ship in ports like Costa Maya. You will have a fantastic time, and Essie will have plenty of beers to choose from.
  6. Yes, they can re-take pics and its really quick. You have nothing to worry about. Enjoy your cruise!
  7. If I were you, I'd go for it. It's you honeymoon, and money will always come back to you. Time never comes back, and we're only here for so long, so enjoy it while you can!
  8. Maddie the Glow, Sean the Gamer, and Simon the Foodie were all on your October Transatlantic.
  9. The room stewards can cover the peek-a-boo window for you.
  10. We traveled as Megas in May on the Valiant, and were whisked directly to our cabin.
  11. I was assuming suites...that's how I won our bid, by bidding on the category with the most availability.
  12. What sailing on you on, and what categories did you bid on. I can check inventory if you'd like. We just celebrated our 25th last week.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if they were sent home after this. I'm glad to hear that he's be found, alive & safe.
  14. That's typical of TAs that specialize in low prices. The actual agent gets a very small commission if any. Some are only paid by the hour. What you save on price, you lose on service. With the way things are these days, it's nice to have someone advocate for you when things go wrong.
  15. If you still have the email, I'd call your TA if you used one. If you booked directly with Virgin, I'd avoid calling, and email them instead. That way you can forward the email to them indicating that you were promised DBE. sailorservices@virginvoyages.com
  16. And no way should have he been allowed to disembark without an adult.
  17. Sounds like security is slacking. Another teen on this sailing posted this elsewhere: "yea i’m currently on the ship and i had a very similar experience. i’m a teenager and was leaving the ship at the copenhagen port with my sister who is an adult. while leaving we ended up in different lines to scan our medallions. when i scanned my medallion they asked who was accompanying me and i pointed at my sister, who at this point already scanned her medallion and had her back turned and was walking away. they then just let me go right thru. looking back on it i could have easily just pointed at some random person and they would have let me thru."
  18. The missing minor (r) was last seen with this person with a ponytail. Police are currently looking for him and only calling him/her a "witness" Please contact the police if you have any info or recognize this "witness"
  19. According to someone claiming to be a minor currently on board who posted elsewhere: "i’m in the ship rn and a minor. whenever my medallion is scanned the pictures of my traveling group show up on their ipad. i would assume there is something saying that im a minor. especially cus while leaving one time they asked who was accompanying me, since im a minor and can’t leave the ship alone."
  20. No,but I've read some posts from someone on board elsewhere.
  21. In this NBC report, they quote a statement from Princess that notes he left the ship "without an escort": https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/american-teen-missing-germany-leaving-cruise-ship-police-say-rcna160477
  22. Now that I'm a TA, I felt real names were more important.
  23. According to a thread elsewhere, minors are not allowed to leave the ship without an adult, but security may have let him go to due to his size. One would hope that his medallion scan would indicate that he was a minor. I believe the grandmother disembarked later in the day due to her grandson missing. The child's mother is on her way to Germany. He's 14 years old.
