  1. Regatta is a small ship. I’ve sailed on the very similar Sirena. There’s no need for an app onboard. Not enuf stuff going on. No 5,000 pax trying to get their meals scheduled. I can see the need on an X ship, or RCC, Carnival, etc. In my opinion, no need for an app on O. Now, “improve the wifi” - did I hear anyone say? YES, now you’ve got me going on that one!
  2. Please try the Cappella Palentina in the Palazzo Normanni. The mosaics in the chapel are incredible. Palermo has a fascinating history , something that can trigger an interest in a family member!
  3. I believe Riviera has several itins in April that include Japan. I’m on Riviera as it departs Asia (Tokyo embarkation) on 25 April and travels to Vancouver.
  4. I like Giada a lot and used to follow her. Now I’m more into Nigella, Jamie Oliver and Christopher Kimball (Milk Street), as well as America’s Test Kitchen.
  5. Also, please keep in mind that if you purchase an FCC, then you will be subject to any price increases in effect by the time you have selected your itinerary. On the other hand, if you book on board, you lock in your price at the time that you select your itinerary. Enjoy your cruise!
  6. A pdf file can be posted here. First download the file, and then okay to post here……
  7. Can you provide a link to the brochure? Thx!
  8. I’m on the 10 August Oslo embarkation…
  9. I guess you will have passports soon, correct? Hopefully they will be arriving soon, yes?
  10. If they are anything like the reusable water bottles provided on Mariner and on Voyager, I’d say don’t bother. Bring your own insulated water bottle from home. The bottles provided on board have no insulation and they sweat as they quickly lose their chill. No thanks.
  11. Thanks to the OP for coming back and letting us know how things went. Glad to hear that all was well, although I would not want to encourage others to try to replicate your results in future.
  12. Flossie009, I was under the impression that consumer laws in the United Kingdom would require the cruise line to provide a full refund if they make a substantial change to the itinerary. So, I’m thinking that passengers from the UK might get a full refund instead of losing their deposit. What are your thoughts?
  13. OP has posted on the Oceania forum that they have decided to go with celebrity. We all hope they enjoy their cruise.
  14. The pictured shoes look great for the main dining room.
  15. You’re forgetting Waves, which is on the pool deck and is more casual. I also responded on the O thread specifically with a recent Voyager cruise where a well-behaved 10 or 12-year old was very well received. Depends on so many factors..
  16. It can be used for shore Excursions for sure.
  17. Agree with Shepherdreally and disagree with halfapair.
  18. I was on a 17 day voyage in February on a Regent ship with a lot of sea days. I only saw one 12-year-old child. He was the son of guest lecturers on the ship, and they were traveling with his grandmother, who only spoke German. My trivia team adopted him, and he really added a lot to our experience. The maximum size for trivia teams is six, and we had six before he joined our team. No one complained that we had “too many” on our team. He was such a cute young man, generally well-behaved, unless he had consumed too much sugar. A few afternoons, he was very twitchy and rambunctious. But we all loved him. I think he was quite the mascot wherever he went on the ship. And let me just say that, although this was not on an Oceania cruise ship, Regent skews very old as well. When I was about 10 years old, my family traveled internationally, including on a cruise ship. We were pretty wild, not well-behaved like most of these children you are hearing about, but the international travels really had an impact on me (hopefully for the better).
  19. Some people are willing to pay for convenience. Others can DIY.
  20. Its the opposite. They could pay half of those quoted rates if booking directly. Enjoy your cruise!
  21. Yuch! Played with crayfish in the “coolies” (open-air concrete rainwater drainage system) while in Lafayette LA during my childhood. Won’t eat them ever! (We called them crawdads).
  22. Aren’t sandals by definition open toed, at least mostly (definitionally speaking)….🤣 Mostly JK!
