  1. Yes. My confirmation had tables for 4 and 6.
  2. All of my reservations went through. I had some issues periodically - but the reservations are confirmed.
  3. I believe you and I did see that thread - and I think I even commented on it - yet the app and website are still allowing people to make reservations when they are travelling with less than 6 people, and I have yet to see an official announcement of the change, and I see NOTHING in the app or online that verify what your TA told you... If the cruise line has indeed made this change - they need to find a way to 1) tell their customers about the change - especially past customers who are used to making online MDR reservations in advance and 2) prevent their customers from making reservations if they are travelling in smaller groups if that is no longer permitted. Like I said - on the app - it gave the option to select the number of guests, I stated 3, and it gave me the reservation and confirmed the reservations. I wonder how many new and returning customers who have never been on this forum are doing the same thing as me because they never heard about this change. Also - their FAQ page hasn't changed - there is nothing saying I can't reserve for the main dining room as I used to. Frequently Asked Questions (ncl.com)
  4. I understand about the table sizes - and how those reservations work. The difference is the main dining rooms - I have always been allowed to make reservations for 2 or 3 people, and yes -they seat you at a table for 4, 6, or 8 at their will and remove the extra settings. My point was - the poster I was replying to thought there was a problem because her confirmation shows 6 people instead of 1 person. There might not be a problem. There MIGHT be a change with how they show the confirmation. There might also be a change in what size tables will be available. As for whether or not you are allowed to make MAIN DINING ROOM reservations - In the past - they have been allowed for groups smaller than 6 people. I have made those reservations successfully on the app, online, and by phone - and never once was I told that I shouldn't be making reservations for only 2 people. Has there been an official change since my last cruise which was less than 1 year ago? Perhaps. But - in the app - it STILL allowed me to make reservations for 3 people. I have seen NO FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT that groups of less than 6 people cannot make reservations for the main dining room. Until I get a confirmation or read a formal announcement from NCL that this practice is no longer allowed - I will continue making dinner reservations as I have always done. If NCL no longer wants us making MDR reservations for groups smaller than 6 - they need to make that clear. So far - they haven't.
  5. But - they DID launch it. They made it available for download on Google Apps and the Apple App stores. And they loaded the app with reservations for cruises on ships other than Sky. If they weren't ready for people to use it, they shouldn't have made the app available to everyone, regardless of ship. It seems to me that almost all of the important information is already loaded into the app - regardless of ship. It is human nature - if a new app has been launched that you intend to use - you are likely to download it as soon as you know it is available and test out the features. As for checking in too early - it is kind of stupid they make you wait in the first place. Not like most of us are going to suddenly have a new passport or new emergency contact in the last couple months before our cruise departs. And honestly - that safety video? Are we any more likely to remember what it tells us if we wait until 21 days before departure? 21 days before departure is still a long time before departure to remember the details of the safety video. Regardless - the only thing that matters is that those of us who entered our "check in" information - check back before departure to ensure that the info is still in the system. But even if we forget - they have in person check in too. Also - the more people who use it - the more NCL can learn about what glitches need to be fixed. For example - if we are making reservations for 3 people and the reservations are for tables for 6 and that isn't what they intended - they can fix it. If they see people are checking in long before their cruise departure date - they can fix it.
  6. I think they have changed the reservations a little perhaps - in the app, it lets you select the correct number of people for the reservations, online it only lets you select for 6 or 8 people for the MDRs. No matter where I reserved - the app or online - all my specialty dining reservations show for 4 people (even though there are 3 of us and I did those online before the app rolled out) and my main dining room reservations all show for 6 people (whether or not I did them in the app or online - but in the app I DEFINITELY selected 3 people). I am thinking they new system is only allowing you to reserve a table which happens to seat up to 4 people in the specialty dining room , or 6/8 people for the MDRs. Anyhow - I am sure they will get it straightened out.
  7. Yeah - I know it is too early for check in - so not even worrying about it! Just was testing the features. Might have to redo all of it when the time comes. I didn't attempt to take a photo... so don't know if it will work or not.
  8. Sorry - you just replied as I was making a correction to my reply to you. In my app - when I select to purchase - it DOES give the price for each individual! Not sure why your app looks different? Are you travelling solo? It gave my name and each of my adult kids name, and it had the specific price for each individual listed when I went to select. Only the full price showed before trying to select individuals to purchase the shore excursions for.
  9. Yeah - this photo is confusing as if it shows just the discounted price without clarifying who gets the discounted price - but when I looked in my app - it gave the price for each individual which was great.
  10. No - it is a regular 14 day cruise, roundtrip - but not a B2B. Basically - it allows me to scroll, but at some point - the app thinks it has reached the end of the page so to speak and I can't scroll past the "end of the page" - of that makes sense. So far - I have only had this issue with dining reservations. All my other reservations are completed. Right now - the APP allows me to book 3 person reservations, but the reservation confirmation email shows them as a tables for 6 in the Grand Pacific dining room - as if there are no longer any 4 person tables in the Grand Pacific dining room. Perhaps I am wrong - but I could swear last time we sailed on the Gem just over a year ago we DID sit at 4 person tables. I remember clearly walking to the back of the room passing all the 6/8 person tables. Either way - I have finally made all of my reservations for dinner that I wanted - I just went back to the website to make 6 person reservations for the Grand Pacific for the days I couldn't add in the app due to scrolling. Since reserving for 3 people shows as a table for 6 - it doesn't seem to matter. But yeah - up until now - the reservations for 6 had been getting rejected online. I "think" they worked this time. At least - they appeared to go through finally. I will see once I get an updated dinner reservation confirmation email.
  11. What is it exactly that is rolling out ship by ship? Just things like Deck plans or what? Will it be the same app but customize each trip depending on the ship? Or individual apps per ship? (That wouldn't make sense - but you never know) Just trying to figure out what exactly they haven't rolled out yet! Travelling on the GEM which rollsout about 2 weeks before my trip in December and then the Escape - but not doing that one until 3/26. Anyhow - it seems all the important stuff is working for both my trips.
  12. Huh - so earlier it only said it was too soon and told me the date I could check in. This time, it let me check all of us in (but didn't do the photo yet). I think it gave me ALL the screens except the one to select check in time. We shall see if the app remembers the data I already entered when it is actually time to check in! I did notice the app didn't give me an option to simply upload a photo - only to take a photo.
  13. It does - but I still can't scroll past day 7 on my iPad or day 11 I think on my iPhone
  14. So to add to this - on my iPad - the app shows very small compared to my screen size and I can actually only see LESS dates when I am trying to reserve dinner reservations than I could on my iPhone 14ProMax... go figure. So frustrating I can't do any reservations for the last couple days. Online - it only gives me the option of reserving tables for 6 or 8 instead of just reserving for the 3 of us... and when I tried before, it wouldn't actually finish the reservation. BUT - when I got my reservation confirmation - even though I put "THREE" for the number of participants at dinner - it confirmed reservations for a table for 6. Forgive me if I am wrong - but didn't the Grand Pacific dining room have tables that seated only 4 people on the Gem? I don't recall ever sitting at a table for 6!
  15. Most of the time I get a human to chat with. But - sometimes the human says that the human in chat can't take care of what I want to take care of... so then they give the number.
  16. Mine gives me an "Online Chek In Available Soon" message and also gives a date in which the feature will be available which is nice. Old app just gave me a "21 days before" message instead of an actual date.
  17. Thanks for the heads up. Exploring it now. To my surprise, it IS letting me reserve the complimentary main dining rooms like Grand Pacific and Magenta, which I thought they had stopped allowing us to do according to other recent posts (and I wasn't able to reserve them online when I COULD reserve the specialty dining). Only one major problem I see with the app on my phone so far. I have a 14 day cruise - and when I am selecting dates, I can't scroll all the way down to the last couple days. I am waiting for my iPad to charge to see if I can do it on the iPad. So - can't reserve dining right now for days 12/13.
  18. Haven't done Ocean Blue or Le Bistro yet - but the Manhattan dining room seemed to have a wide array in how people were dressed. Some people were totally dressed up, others were EXTREMELY casual. I didn't see anyone dressed in anything truly ragged and no one looking like they came in straight from the pool or a beach. I would suggest having at least one nicer looking "smart casual" with a collared shirt outfit in case you happen to be on a cruise who's crew pays more attention to dress code, and just double check dining room dress codes when you get to the ship. You could always wear the same nicer outfit just for dinners in which the dress code is adhered to. I think the freestyle daily listed some dresscode info where it was required.
  19. Depends on how many people. Bonaire Cruisers rents 2 person golf carts. If you have more than two people you just have to ensure that there are golf carts available for more people - otherwise, car may be the only option. We rented a golf cart from Bonaire Cruisers - but our port stop was cancelled. It was super easy to cancel our reservation and I received my refund within a couple days. I appreciate that there was no hassle. And yes - I cancelled far enough in advance - it wasn't a last minute cancellation. Don't know how they handle those.
  20. For thermal suite cancellation - I think you have to make sure you do it day 1/departure day - so get in line as soon as you are on board! But I have been told that you CAN cancel when you get on board. Although - I haven't had to do it yet so can't confirm that they won't make a big deal out of it. That said - all the changes I have had to make on board haven't been a problem.
  21. Having Bonaire cancelled was definitely disappointing - however at least they gave more time at several other ports in exchange - so the amount of land vs sea time is similar to when we were going to Bonaire. I do wish the sea days were more spread out and mostly at the beginning. And yeah - I was looking forward to Bonaire! I wish it was one of the Dominican Republic ports that was cancelled instead. I have seen no confirmation that this is for "fuel savings" (and that guest satisfaction is a bogus response). BUT - if it is indeed due to dock repairs as I read somewhere... then it is understandable. I also read somewhere else that Bonaire simply wants to enforce one ship/day which means this is out of Norwegian's control.
  22. Yes - I saw the option to upgrade/add while on board (I had added the beverage package for my daughter but not me). I can't remember if beverage price had increased, but I did see that the Thermal Spa Suite price went up as we got closer.
  23. I read they are doing some dock repairs - but I am not certain...
  24. Sorry - there is no reason why you medically need SODA. No - that is not an ADA violation. Even for diabetics - there are other options available for quick acting sugar sources. Glucose tabs, skittles, you can even get orange juice from the dining room and put it in your fridge in case you need it during the night. We often brought food/beverages to our rooms. You can even get a beverage package that includes soda if you feel you need soda in particular. Regarding CPAP. Yes - distilled water is recommended for extending the life of the CPAP (hardwater mineral buildup needs to be avoided) - but technically - you can put ANY water in the machine. OR - not use water at all. Personally - I often didn't fill my humidifier. When I travelled with it - I used whatever bottled water I could get my hands on. And when I bought a travel size CPAP for hiking trips - I bought one that used humidification disks instead of water. My point is - There are other options. As for tap water - that should be use as a last resort due to possible contamination - however - as a last resort - it can be used. I have used it myself as a last result. BUT - only in places where they have "clean" water. I wouldn't risk it in lots of places. THAT said - sounds like Norwegian offers distilled water for CPAPs.... so no problems there. But if they didn't - they might operate similarly to airplanes - where you can get medical certification for the need of distilled water and carry it on a plane with you. However- always check with TSA/Airlines and Cruiselines directly instead of relying on people you don't know on public forums.
  25. This is essentially what happened on the Bliss last fall... I had reservations but there was a line I had to stand in even though I had a reservation. When I got to the front - they didn't even ask if I had a reservation. I usually had to wait 5-10 minutes. On the GEM however - they asked every time and there was NEVER a line. Anyhow - this change explains why I haven't been able to make MDR reservations for my upcoming cruise. I don't care though - there was never a line on the GEM and on the bliss like I said - the wait was 5-10 minutes for me. I have my specialty dining reservations and that is all that matters.
