Why all the weird, "fussy" food?? Why not just some really good, well done (not olive garden or carraba's) traditional Italian dishes? I love a really well done, basil pesto on home-made fettuccini or a nice cheese tortellini in a veal and mushroom sauce. I guess I just don't get a mint-specked tortelloni with roasted lamb and a sauce I can't pronounce.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for not being adventurous, but I really just don't get the need for food that seems to be trying too hard. Just give me a really well-executed dish with a few simple but delicious ingredients and I'm happy.
Carnival.

I must admit I'm one of those underwhelmed by the Crown Grill.

Was thinking about the actual guarantee cabin assignment process. I know all about the you can get assigned a cabin at any point after booking right up until sailing and those kind of things, but how does the actual process work and who does it? Is it computerized and randomly assigns cabins through some algorithm? Is it an actual person in Santa Clarita that manually assigns cabins? Is there a person whose job it is to just assign cabins?

You're traveling in the rainy season too. Take the fully covered balcony.

There is no reason to purchase water if you have the AIBP. You can pick up a bottle of water anytime you want at any bar. After all, the water is a drink that costs $10 or less, so it is included in the AIBP. You can pick up one on the way back to your cabin, or you can pick up one on the way to leave the ship at a port.
Exactly. We tell the cabin steward that we have the AIBP and to not bring in waters sodas, etc except for what we got for being elite and even then we trade that out for a bottle of wine. We get those big water bottles that they sell around the pool area, all covered under AIBP, and take them back to the room. We always make sure we have "room water".

Dinner selections include breakfast at night with omelets and chicken & waffles, family kitchen comfort foods and a kid-friendly PB&J bar. Night-time offerings will also include a live-action station with stir-fry and customized pasta, plus composed salad choices.
They had me at Chicken and Waffles.

2017 Secret: These secrets are not much different than 2016.

Caribill posted that it is probably the new name for it since Majestic's buffet is called World Fresh Marketplace. Wonder if they will soon change so that the names are the same across the fleet. Like some have scoops others call it swirls...I just call it YUMMY! hahaha
Thanks. I looked at the Royal and Regal deck plans but not the Majestic. Didn't think they would change it on the new ship.

You booked a year ago for an upcoming cruise with Sip & Sail promotion and you notice the price has dropped 400. pp.? Goodness, we don't drink that much! Am I missing something here? :o
Thanks so much,
Michelle
I've always thought the value in the AIBP was also more in the other items included and the freedom. We love taking the big water bottles back to the room. The cafe makes great Raspberry Lime Refreshers. Scoops has shakes available. Plus we enjoy the freedom of not have to worry about the cost what we order, we're on vacation. Go ahead and have that after dinner Irish Coffee for $8. (Or whatever price an Irish Coffee goes for these days. )

The "World Fresh Marketplace"? Is that the new name for the Horizon Court or one side of the Horizon Court?

Vines is one of my favorite places on the ship. It's a great place to sit and wait for your anytime dining buzzer to go off. I don't mind waiting for the MDR - in fact, sometimes the buzzer went off before I was ready. It has a much better selection of wines by the glass than the MDR or the other bars.
I plan to spend a lot of time there on my August 2017 British Isles cruise and on my January 2018 Panama Canal cruise, and I would also be very unhappy if it disappeared.
I just noticed you started the Roll Call for our Panama cruise next January 27th! We'll see you at Vines. With the AIBP we'll spend a lot of time there.
-
If Vines goes away we may need to rethink our January 2018 Panama cruise!

Biggest change will be the Horizon Court and Cafe Carib. For those who are familiar with this ship..these two food venues are being completely gutted. The Cafe Carib will be made into two ..pay..restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (I honestly hope no one pays for breakfast and lunch, so by time we cruise they..forgetaboutit!!!?
If this is true it spells doom for dining room breakfasts and lunches. The end of the line.

I've don't both and have never had an issue with getting reductions. After final payment is another story. I must admit I have no loyalty in TA"s. Who ever has the cheapest online price wins. Never met a brick and mortar TA who can match the online discounters.

Wow, I wonder where I've been -- I'm elite and have never heard of or noticed 'Share'. Every ship has had a Sabitini's, though. My signature stating cruises is not up to date, most recent cruises were December 2016 and March 2017.......
SHARE is only on the Ruby, Emerald and Sun.

That's why you swap for the coffee cards to use on a future cruise when you may not have the AIBP.
That will NEVER happen. ;p
-
Hmmm... I would think that breakfast and lunch would be complimentary with dinner at a "nominal" charge.
I would think if this is true the dining room breakfasts/lunches would be gone.
-
As long as were speculating. How about the Steamers and Planks taking each side of the Cafe Caribe permanently. Say they divide Cafe Caribe in half and decorate appropriately. Then at night they are real restaurants and by day they are buffet/Cafe Caribe seating.
-
Add World Fresh Market Place. Have no idea what this is.
International Cafe update?
-
I'm not wearing a bracelet. Period.
-
I would bet that that's where they "thought" they left it. You always find it in the last place you look.
-
They can't keep traditional diners from the anytime dining room yet their going to make this work?
-
Silly.

Jeez if you don't like the art auctions don't go. I don't play bingo but I don't complain about it being on board.
