  1. Disembarkation times vary. You won’t know until a couple of days before disembarking. There are lots of threads that provide details.
  2. @exlondoner The deposit didn’t need to be returned I don’t think. It just moved with the rebooking. This was well over a year ago, and I don’t really recall. I also did the bid thing and moved us from a Q5 to a Q4.
  3. We rebooked our last cruise 3 times because the price kept coming down. But we had to balance the drop in price with the loss of free gratuities, etc.
  4. @Frank183 There are taxis available when you disembark. However, there can be quite a line of folks waiting for them. The time you disembark and how much of a hurry you are in should be part of your decision. Last week we were first off at 8:00 and there was a line for taxis but it dissipated quickly. Lots of Ubers being called as well.
  5. @Frank183 It’s unclear where you are going to/from. If you have luggage do not use public transit, especially during rush hours. That leaves a taxi, private car, or Uber. I was forced to learn to use Uber last week while in NYC, and it was doable and cost the same as a taxi. For transport from our hotel to the port I splurge for a private car so I can be sure it will hold all of our luggage. There is a water taxi, but I don’t know if it would be better than the other options. I hope this is the information you need.
  6. Hmmmm.. what is a Mallorca tourist? I need to determine if I am one. Thank you @NE John for helping @Frank183
  7. I’m surprised by how few tables are in QG. I agree @exlondoner the lounge doesn’t look inviting.
  8. Just got off QM2 in 9060. There is an access point in the room.
  9. We’ve used them twice and I highly recommend them.
  10. @Victoria2 I mentioned the baked potato because someone mentioned they were told no in QG when they asked for it. I just read through the thread again and can’t find it now.
  11. There is obviously a big difference between the MDR and the grills. The last time I ate in the MDR of another line I sent the steak back after three bites. I have admitted before to being a food and wine snob, which really isn’t the proper adjective. I just don’t want to waste my time, calories, or palette on poor food and wine. I actually consume very little and seldom clear my plate. DH ordered Dover sole twice, special order placed at noon. We had Peking Duck, ordered 3 days ahead. Lobster twice, cavier 3 times, soufflé twice…At lunch Osman goes to every table asking if there is anything he can do for you. The flambé carts were in continuous service. A baked potato would need to be ordered at lunch to be served at dinner, no microwaved potato in grills. I am sorry others did not have the same experience. We will take fewer cruises, but they will be in QG.
  12. @steve4031 Oh my…you need to put your phone into airplane mode as you walk onto the ship. Your phone will connect to the ships Wi-Fi which connects to your provider and can cause outrageous phone charges. Call your phone provider this morning and tell them you’re going on a cruise so they advise you. Gotta put on my shoes and close the last suitcase. We disembark in 15 minutes.
  13. @steve4031 Believe me they make many great drinks without alcohol. I tasted lots this week.
  14. @steve4031 Have a wonderful cruise. We’re getting off and leaving her in your hands. Important names to know: Commodore club: Herbert, Renzo, and Benedict. Sit at the bar, seats 3 and 4 and tell them Susan sent you. They will take care of you.
  15. I overheard a grills guest trying to book Verandah on the second day of the cruise and there was no availability for any day. Do it as soon as you board.
  16. As I look out the window we don’t appear to be moving at all. Where are we @exlondoner?
  17. @NE John We decided to try to watch the concert from our room but the stream was really badly choppy so we gave up. We could see the very tops of the fireworks from several areas. But we had brought Independence Day and watched half of it in our suite with the remainder of wine from dinner.
  18. In QG on QM2 with a window table for 2 now in Boston. A few people look in as they walk past but have never stopped nor stared. DH and I discussed the width between tables since we talk about it here once. We have 14 to 16 inches between our table and the next.
  19. The wonderful bartenders tell us if our choice is not covered by the drinks package and applied a discount.
  20. In honor of @Host Hattie I had a, well actually 2, Mary Pickfords. Very tasty indeed.
  21. No luggage labels. You print them with your boarding pass.
  22. I requested it inQG today at lunch. We can have it in 2 days or three, our choice. Osman suggested adding fried rice.
  23. @Austcruiser84 Osman makes a very simple, yet tasty, tomato pasta tableside. It is a very large portion, way more than 2 of us could eat. He informed us last night he plans to make us lobster as well as the pasta this week. He also enjoys cooking fish tableside, and will be preparing Dover sole for DH. He goes on vacation in 2 weeks and will be gone for two months. We think we know who will take over his duties and he seems very capable preparing tableside dishes.
