What did they send you? Sounds like it was probably just an updated booking confirmation and it’s probably still a bit too early to get your cruise ticket. Try again 20 days out.

Thanks for your review! Bad luck with the itinerary change. I hope you get to visit Malta one day soon. The texting function requires the ship's wifi to work, but you do not need to purchase internet access for this. Simply connecting to the ship's wifi network is free and lets you use all of the functions of the MSC for Me app, and flash the QR codes at bars, etc. Airplane mode may turn your phone's wifi function off by default, but you can turn it back on and then select the ship's network.

It's the same thing, they call it e-Ticket or Cruise Ticket or "Your travel documents" and it sounds like you already have them. The "boarding pass" is specifically the page labeled "01. Embarkation Form" that you're supposed to print out for each passenger, along with the health form. However, it is strange that it won't let you request the ticket on the website, and that you are not able to join the Voyagers Club. So I would suggest that you give them a call and see if they can help you.

I am afraid you will be disappointed if you are hoping that "Type of service: included" means that the internet is free at the Internet Café on these ships. It is not. It is "included" in the same way that the casino is "included". The venue is open and accessible to you, but if you want to actually use the computers for your e-mail or whatever, be prepared to pay for it.

Two men or two women who look vaguely similar enough would have no problem on board. I don't remember if the photo pops up on the bar staff's tablets when they scan your card. Unless they're drinking alone at a bar (nothing wrong with that!) someone else with the correct card can order the drinks. And once they get to know some of the bar staff it will be fine. I agree that it's not an ideal solution, but for an easy-going group of friends it would work.

Sounds like MSC is less accommodating than other cruise lines on this issue. But if OP is good enough friends with the other couple and plan to be spending most of their time together anyway, in the worst case two of them can switch keycards while on board.

Yes and no… You will each get a dinner, and the dinner is for two people (the Diamond member and a guest) but only if the guest is staying in the same cabin. I don't know how strictly they enforce that, though.

Easy Plus is based on the price of the drink, currently 8 € in Europe and apparently $9 for USD sailings. So there's no specific menu. If you order a drink up to that price, it will be included (except in the excluded venues like the chocolate shop etc.)

Just select British and whatever else you need to do to activate your account. Then worry about changing it later if you need to. Or register for VC on another site and get them to add the number to your booking.

I don't know if you're still considering it, but I would just walk (I did it myself earlier this year). I got an Uber from the airport once, and the pick-up spot was at a remote parking lot that was almost at the Rotunda do Relógio. Which is halfway to your hotel already. The Rotunda do Relógio is busy and certainly not designed for pedestrian traffic. I wouldn't walk there with elderly parents and a school group, but the average budget traveler will be fine. The road to your hotel is not hilly at all.

Have any of you ever ordered the "Imperatore" set menu at Teppanyaki? It's the most expensive option (around $60) with scallops, lobster, and Wagyu beef. Any photos? Is there a way to get it using a specialty dining package or Diamond dinner? Do they let you pay the 50% off "substitution" price?

That's not how the package works (anymore). Look at the first menu that the OP posted, with the heading "Included in the Easy Package", and that's exactly what you can get. It's not a price limit, it's whether the drink you want is on this list or not. So, if your husband wants any beer other than Heineken, he should probably upgrade. But you should wait for someone with recent beer experience on Divina to answer, because the choice of included beers could be different there.

You mean what brands they use for the Easy package drinks? I doubt you would recognize the names, it's whatever "anonymous" brands they can source most cheaply at the time (and probably not the same across different ships in different regions).

The difference between Easy and Easy Plus is $13 per day, so that should be the upgrade cost. Do it before the cruise to avoid paying the service charge!

As far as I know, your status should be active already. Definitely ask them for the cruise discount, at least! Your cruise ticket will say Diamond member, and with that you can use the priority check-in and you will receive your Diamond keycard.

In my experience it's not possible (or much more difficult) to switch around the registered occupants of each cabin, but it's pretty easy to ask for an extra keycard for each room. So the person who is booked in the "wrong" cabin uses the extra key to get into the room with their actual partner, and continues to use their cruise card for everything else. Just keep in mind that onboard charges will still go to their original cabin, so you'll have to review everything and sort things out with your friends at the end of the cruise. Also, this means that people have access to both cabins throughout the cruise, so some level of trust is required.

To be clear, the lowest status is “Welcome” with zero points, and the “jump” from 0 to 1 point is potentially worth hundreds of dollars (since it gets you 5% off your very first cruise, skipping the “Welcome” step). Of course in your case since they didn’t bother give your match until after your first cruise, the 1 point is truly just a slap in the face.

I did an MSC cruise in July for which I originally purchased their extra Covid coverage, but then immediately cancelled it when I noticed that they had just stopped requiring it. I didn’t receive the refund until the end of October (more than 3 months after the cruise), and this seems to be perfectly normal practice for MSC. I don’t think calling them a lot speeds it up, either. In the OP’s case (as others have said) I would have made more effort to get refunded on board. I’m sure they would say it was a web booking so has to be handled shoreside, but then I would insist that they contact shoreside on my behalf and give me a copy of the message.

The kleenex is for crying over your cancelled cruise at home. If you manage to get on board, then just use the big pool towels.

It is completely up to the staff in the terminal who gets to use the priority check-in line, so you can try it. It is obviously not an official policy that a single Diamond member can extend his/her status benefits to an arbitrary number of additional cabins.

Does anyone have more recent experience with this? Because from the current description it doesn't sound like it's a surprise menu anymore (and I don't know if you still share the table with strangers). The experience includes a tailored Menu, made by the Chef exclusively for your table, composed of: 1 shellfish platter to share 1 appetizer 1 dry aged ribeye with sauces and sides selection 1 chocolate lava cake 2 glasses of New World wines It doesn't seem to be anything special that you couldn't just order as additions to the regular Dining Experience for about the same price, and with more flexibility. And if you already have a drinks package (particularly EAsy Plus or Premium), 2 glasses of unspecified wine is not a big selling point.
