  1. We have carried on 2 in the past for one cruise but since we are doing three we’re wondering if they would take it and give it back after the first? Undecided whether we should risk it.
  2. I know this has been addressed somewhere along the line. Since we will be on three cruises(b2b2b) can we bring more than two bottles of wine on board in our carryons. Definitely not planning to bring on six. Will they let us keep them or deliver the rest at the end of the first cruise. Anyone have experience with this?
  3. One more thing you might want to get while your on the ship is a copy of the doctors notes along with the bill to send in with your claim. Travel insurance wants everything and not just the bill. Much easier to get now rather than later.
  4. We had priority tender on the Beyond last May. We get off early and sometimes come back early so there is not much of a line. We too have changed our ways and board on the later side with no lines. So much nicer for us. The one and only time we had a suite was when we were cruising Alaska with our two grandchildren and we did not want to book a second room. Actually felt guilty when escorted to the front of the line bypassing all those that were patiently standing in line on check in. Is Mr Normandy planning to stay up into the night to watch the process in the Suez Canal tonight? Love all your photos. Keep them coming.
  5. Interesting. It’s one thing to be in a suite or Zenith but when they start offering these passes for 32.99 a day which is expensive for priorities this is pushing it too far. Pushes the steerage class even lower!! Maybe the idea is to book steerage and for what one would save you could buy yourself some priorities!!!!
  6. Beautiful photos. So fun to just walk around. Love all your photos of the church interiors.
  7. We’re on this cruise too! Have done this itinerary many times including last year on Solstice. We’re ready for more sun and just time to relax with no agenda and no real plans.
  8. It’s time to stop debating this cruiser. They just are going to do what they want to when they want to!
  9. Fun So does this mean you have to use your valuable internet time for those of us who have limited internet?
  10. I had the same problem for two days. Worked on iPad but not phone. I finally cleared in settings all my browsing history and it finally worked but I did have to change my password.
  11. We’re with you! That’s exactly what we have found.
  12. We used to be always on the earlier 11-1130 boarding time. The last three cruises we have done we switched it up and now prefer 1300-1330. Hard to believe I know but the result has been we get out of our Uber then show our docs and up we go. No lines. This was Fort Lauderdale in April. We are doing this again on our two Nov cruises. No sense waiting in line with the early birds and the wished they were earlybirds! Now the late bird gets an easy table and still plenty of food at the buffet and not just the leftover crumbs! . No crowds at the buffet and no longer searching for that illusive hidden in the corner table.
  13. Your reviews are so fun. I love them. We were originally on this cruise for all four segments but decided to cancel earlier this year. Will look forward to following you and Mr Norwaylady on this adventure.
  14. Everything looks wonderful. Saved this Apt link property for our next trip to Rome.
  15. We have now been to Alaska on five cruises. Two of them left out of Vancouver and visited Hubbard Glacier. (Aug and June). Hubbard Glacier was spectacular. We experienced better weather in June and had the advantage of much later daylight and saw more wildlife. The next three left out of Seattle and all were in early June. School was not out yet for many of the school kids. All three of these cruises visited Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. On one of them we did the excursion that offloaded into a smaller ship and got much closer to Dawes Glacier. Our weather was not the best as it was cold and turned to rain on the way back to meet the ship in Juneau. We have definitely had a preference for early June over the one we did in Aug for better weather and longer daylight. We saw so much more.
  16. We have done both. After cruising almost exclusively in an SV we had to change a date of a cruise and could not get the SV on the Beyond. That was for a Transatlantic last April. We found we liked it much more than we ever thought we would. Definitely much handier for running back and forth to our stateroom! It did make the room larger and we just opened up the large window when we wanted to. We then moved to the SV for the next cruise barely sat out there do to the weather. A year ago we had an SV on the Beyond in July and we did not even use it as it was too hot to be out there. For the $$ in Aug we would definitely step down to the IV and save our $$. If your anything like us after almost exclusively in SV you may be pleasantly surprised.
  17. We are on the 1/21 cruise and have booked all of our dinner reservations in the various dining rooms for My Time Dining. If for whatever reason you cannot get them if you just show up you will get in. The earlier the easier and quicker it is otherwise it will be a short wait.
  18. Even if you have a non refundable Celebrity May keep $100 per person for bookkeeping! The rest of deposit will be in the form of a FCC. A refundable will be returned to your original form of payment.
  19. We too have moved from the early check in times to the 11:130. This way we can enjoy our morning without rushing. No lines we have enjoyed walking right on and like a previous poster were able to drop off our luggage. The buffet is not crazy busy. We usually visit our muster station for check in on the way to the buffet. We have done this for four cruises now. We used to be one of those excited cruisers in the long lines and craziness of trying to rush on the ship as early as we could. Finding the buffet busy and difficult to even find a place to sit! No more. I guess we have finally realized how much more relaxing waiting until later can be! Still plenty of food!!
  20. Have a wonderful time. We loved this cruise. We cruised on the Solstice from Vancouver BC to Sydney. We did it in 2018 and are doing it again next year only we will fly to Honolulu this time. We broke the trip coming home up with a few days in HNL.
  21. Funny thing was 18 years ago when we were first starting to cruise we were ushered away from booking carnival and directed to RCI
  22. Actually Rome in Limo will do about anything you want within Reason. For us they did make suggestions in our correspondence back and forth. They have a fabulous reputation. On our last Amalfj Coast (July2022) we started in Ravello and came up the coast. The only issue with that direction is you are on the other side of the road from the coastal side. Our driver did stop when we could. There were some wonderful surprises we did not see when we started from Sorrento and did not see on two previous trips. Ravello was just opening and setting up their shops when we got there. The traffic was in Amalfi and Positano. By the time you stop for the most amazing lunch ((RIL) is famous for those connections there may not be time to stop in Pompeii. This is where choices come into play. As I remember we were picked up around 08 when we went to Pompeii(1st trip) It was amazing to get photos with no people in them. We did not go as far as Ravello. We did have an hr to look around Sorrento then had the most amazing lunch in a cliffside overlooking Sorrento and the coastline. We remember our fabulous Italian experience at these lunches more than the sites!! Then we did the Amalfi Coast drive down as far as Amalfi. On the way back our driver knew where the ship busses were. They are in contact with other drivers who were right behind the busses or in one case the bus was behind that driver. We made it back with about an hr to spare. As I said they have a huge reputation to uphold. The following photos 1.small narrow canyon on the land side of the drive between Ravello and Amalfi 2.Year round nativity scene in a small cave 3. Amazing lunch at a fab small family restaurant that our driver knew the owners. Our driver ordered and served for us. The wine was flowing and it was something we cherished about our private excursion
  23. We have been long time Celebrity Cruisers. We also currently have eight on the books. We do not cruise in suites but instead mostly SV when we can get them. Most all our cruises are booked at least 1.5-2yrs out although we do book some only a few months out. We do not have much to complain about as we do not have the major changes some folks have as we’re not in suites. We have been cruising Celebrity for over twenty years after we moved over from Royal. Sure the midnight buffets are gone and the towel animals in the room and sometimes the chocolates on the bed are gone! As a result so far we are happy and go along with the flow. On our two coming up in Nov we do not even have any perks at all and will buy drinks as we go and use our elite benefits. We can almost always find something to eat and have never left a cruise starving. Sometimes for us the dining room is a little heavy on fish dishes and we do not eat fish( we’re in the minority there). We’re just happy to be cruising and will stay right where we are.
