No we did not. We were flying on KLM to Barcelona after spending five days in AMS

We just flew out of Schipol to Barcelona yesterday and I can tell you our wait in the que was apx 3 hours to get us through Security. Be prepared to stand and stand! The line moves very slowly at times and sometimes stops. They were handing out cold bottles of water and popsicles!! Those that had to check luggage spent and additional 1.5 hrs in that line. They were missing flights and some barely made the flight. Be sure to arrive early. We were not allowed even to get into the area where the line began until about 4hrs ahead of time. Wear comfortable shoes!!

Lunastella… Is there any outside seating off of the Oceanview Cafe so that one could eat outdoors if it’s not too hot?

Just want to know in the event this happens after all you do just to get to the Port. We will be in Barcelona after dealing with a very busy long line standing event at Amsterdam Schipol Airport. Many folks in close range. Doing our own proctored tests.

If we can manage to get our clothes all in to roll aboard luggage for our cruise Can we go directly to the security line without having to stand in super long lines at Schipol since we are not checking luggage. We are flying to Barcelona on KLM. Will Security let you through earlier than 4hrs before your flight?

Hank thank you for your informative post. I understand how travel insurance works as we have been there ourselves with a very expensive claim so we know what is involved. We realize getting the insurance company involved from the beginning is extremely important. What I would like to know is what is a person suppose to do when your in a totally cash country like Zimbabwe and you have limited cash on you and can only get x per day cash? You need a wire transfer from a US bank and they are closed on a three day weekend (like this family faced). The Company would not accept a credit card or the charge is too large your card gets denied. Having multiple cards helps. Not having a cell coverage to get a CODE is a huge problem. Time was of the essence here. What do you do? Hope and pray the insurance company will wire a payment when your out of options to secure care and transfer. Im only asking as we too will be in Zimbabwe ourselves in a few months. Heaven forbid anything happens here. Not only is care horrible but the demand for cash can be a problem. Definitely do not want to carry thousands of $$ in cash as a precaution.

We just got off the Solstice the week before this cruise. We all had the second booster 30 days before this cruise. We all were very cautious wore our masks when around other people and sat away from others in one of the balconies in the theatre. We did do one group excursion when we offloaded and went closer on a smaller boat to Dawes Glacier. We all tested NEGATIVE three days after the cruise. Very few we’re wearing masks.

You will definitely not feel uncomfortable not wearing them. On our cruise two weeks ago very few wore them. They were not required anywhere.

I’m reading rumors that the authorities in Barcelona are planning to move the cruise port further away from the city. I take it this has not happened yet. Anyone know when this is planned to happen. How far away. Heard that this is similar situation to the Venice cruise port situation.
